Chapter 1 - Stranded in Teyvat, Gaining an Overpowered Ability?

"Ahhhhhhh—!"

Above the storm-wracked sea, space was abruptly torn apart. From the pitch-black rift, a screaming figure fell out.

Kagami Ren stared in horror as he plummeted downward at free-fall speed from several thousand meters in the sky. Even though the ocean lay beneath him, fear still gripped him tightly.

Falling from that height… even if he landed in water, how was that any different from hitting concrete?

It really was unjust. As a college student who had just completed his first year, Kagami Ren had only just begun his summer vacation. A proud representative of the lazy modern student lifestyle, he had gone home, just climbed out of bed, and was about to start up Genshin Impact.

The game had just reached the Sky Island gate when he was suddenly sent flying by an out-of-control car.

That's right. While at home—on the second floor, no less—he was directly hit by a car driven by a crazed woman whose vehicle lost control and crashed straight into him.

Everything went black before his eyes, and the next moment, he found himself free-falling from thousands of meters in the sky.

"So this is how I die… inside my own house."

Kagami Ren stopped screaming, despair filling his heart. He had never imagined such a disaster could befall him. Getting hit by a car inside his own house? He was probably the most ridiculous transmigrator ever—one who was about to die the moment he arrived.

"Ding. Detected that the host is currently in free fall. Unlocking the Omnipotent Template System."

A voice suddenly rang out in his mind, and Kagami Ren's expression lit up. As expected—he had a cheat!

"Detected that the host is currently in Teyvat. Loading full map of Teyvat. Recording all native biological templates."

"Detected that the host is currently in a high-level crisis. Activating Omnipotent Template System. Unlocking Honkai Impact 3rd Herrscher of the Void S-rank template."

"Forcefully linking host to the Imaginary Space. Loading ability overview for the Herrscher of the Void."

As the system's voice ended, a massive amount of information about the Herrscher of the Void's abilities flooded into Kagami Ren's mind. In an instant, he fully adapted to these powers.

The next moment, golden light flashed, and Kagami Ren disappeared from midair, reappearing on land not far above sea level.

"…Damn…"

Kagami Ren steadied his emotions after experiencing such an extreme rollercoaster. Honestly, he had to admire himself for being able to process so much in such a short time.

A college student's greatest strength was adaptability—going with the flow.

"I'm… in Teyvat?"

Recalling the system's voice, Kagami Ren quickly looked around. His expression instantly darkened.

A sky filled with raging thunderstorms, an oppressive atmosphere, and ronin samurai and Kairagi wandering everywhere.

Wasn't this straight-up beginner hell—Inazuma? And not just any Inazuma, but one still under the Vision Hunt Decree and the Sakoku Decree.

In the game, Inazuma only felt slightly oppressive. But in reality, anyone with half a brain could tell that this era of Inazuma wasn't just gloomy—it was a time of real suffering. Maybe not corpses lining the roads, but life was definitely miserable for the people.

Especially for someone like him, a complete outsider with no identity. In a place like Inazuma, wouldn't he be eaten alive without even leaving bones behind?

Finding a random rock to sit on, Kagami Ren began communicating with his cheat.

"System, you there?"

"Yes, host," the system replied in a cold voice.

"Introduce yourself. What can you do?" Kagami Ren asked. Starting off by giving him the Herrscher of the Void's abilities—it shouldn't be something weak, right?

"Answering host. This system is called the Omnipotent Template System. It possesses, but is not limited to, all character abilities and items from every world known to you. All templates and items across the myriad worlds can be obtained."

"Hmm… then will there be difficult missions?" Kagami Ren asked.

"Negative. This system unlocks skills and items purely at random. Any event around you may trigger the unlocking of a template or item," the system explained. "This system has no authority to assign missions. You are completely free."

"Of course, unlocking templates depends on luck and is not guaranteed. Please understand," the system added, sounding slightly apologetic.

"Oh~ so you mean neither you nor I can choose what to unlock. Whatever I do or encounter in life has a chance to unlock a template or skill, right?" Kagami Ren stroked his chin thoughtfully. No missions. No restrictions. Either I got lucky… or this system is hiding something. With his luck, wouldn't he end up unlocking nothing forever?

Still, with the Herrscher of the Void's power, he should be able to run wild across Teyvat, right?

"Host, please refrain from becoming overly arrogant," the system quickly warned. "Although you have obtained the Herrscher of the Void template, it is currently only at S-rank. At best, your strength is comparable to ordinary gods native to Teyvat."

"Your current strength is still inferior to top-tier gods such as the Raiden Shogun(Ei) . Please be mindful of your actions to avoid being beaten or risking your life."

"???"

Kagami Ren was stunned. "But a Herrscher's power level should be far above that of gods, right? You're saying the Herrscher of the Void template can't beat the Electro Archon?"

"You have only obtained the S-rank template. Once you unlock the SS-rank template, the Herrscher of the Void alone will allow you to easily defeat Teyvat's top gods. If you unlock the complete SSS-rank Herrscher of the Void template, you will surpass even the Primordial beings and truly dominate all of Teyvat," the system explained.

"I see."

Kagami Ren quickly suppressed his slightly inflated ego. One of his greatest strengths was that he listened to advice—definitely not because he was scared.

There were many top-tier gods in Teyvat. Just the ones he knew included the Geo Archon Morax and the Electro Archon Baal. As for that carefree Anemo Archon who slacked off all day and pretended to be weak—who knew how powerful that "ehe" guy actually was?

The people of Mondstadt constantly said, "May the Anemo Archon protect you." With that level of faith, was Barbatos really weak? Kagami Ren didn't believe it at all.

"But system, don't just give me the template," Kagami Ren abruptly said. "Where's the Herrscher's signature weapon? What kind of Herrscher of the Void is this without it?"

"I'm not asking for much. Just give me Domain of the Void: Eternal Calamity."

"..."

The system fell silent, seemingly unable to comprehend how its host could be so shameless.

"Detected the host's strong interest in Herrscher of the Void weaponry. Also detected that the host currently lacks a suitable weapon. Unlocking item: Key of the Void."

"Key of the Void? That works."

Looking at the pair of uniquely shaped pistols that appeared in his hands, Kagami Ren clicked his tongue. Not bad. At least it was the pre-augmentation signature weapon.

The Herrscher of the Void with the Key of the Void and without it were completely different existences.

"Grrr~"

Just as Kagami Ren was thinking about how to survive and thrive in Inazuma, a wave of hunger struck him.

"So hungry…"

He looked toward a nearby berry bush and instantly teleported over. He had been curious about their taste for a long time.

The berries were large, The world matched what he remembered—but it felt far more oppressive. Each cluster only had three fruits, but it was enough to satisfy an adult's hunger.
