As I concealed my awkward expression and fiddled with the leash, Haven, next to me, chuckled.
Holding the leash in my hand, I stared blankly at Cecil. It was clear whom it was intended for.
I wanted to be angry, exclaiming, 'How dare you suggest putting a leash on the empress's brother!'
But given Edwin's infamous track record, I could empathize with the chief inspector's feelings.
"Is this related to Edwin's recent omission from the reports over the past few days?"
Cecil opened her mouth to speak, then thumped her chest twice, letting out a heavy sigh.
'I get it, I feel you. That's why you’ve come all the way here. Calm down, and tell me what happened.'
"All the team members assigned to the Commander-in-Chief have lost contact, Your Majesty. We had reports of them arriving at Delphin Mountains, and I had also ordered them to wait for Your Majesty's arrival. Since then, we've lost contact with not only the dedicated team members but also our intermediaries."
