Just two hours after deciding to head north, I left the Imperial Palace.

Kaleb and the other secretaries were very flustered, but they quickly adapted to the situation of the empress being away as they had experienced it once.

I had only brought a minimal entourage for a swift journey, so the royal guards and Cecil looked a bit overwhelmed. But Edwin couldn’t stop grinning across from me.

“Raviel, the weather’s fantastic!”

“Don’t stick your head out of the window, Eddy. It’s dangerous.”

Edwin, who had been leaning out and waving his hands, closed the window after seeing my hair fluttering in the wind.

He then said with the excitement of a kid on a picnic, “It’s been so long since I've traveled far with you, Raviel. Let’s have a lot of delicious food on this trip.”

“We’re not going on a vacation, Eddy.”
