Chapter 13 - THE SERPENT’S WHISPER

02:00 AM (Two days before the scheduled police raid)

Ren's Office

Ren had just returned. She still wore a long coat concealing her evening dress, her face calm, but her eyes glinted with a sharp intensity. Before her, Rion, Gin, and Shawn were already waiting. The digital map of Ironport glowed in the center of the room, displaying the harbor's coordinate points.

"Tuesday night. Pier 12 and 14," Ren said curtly, placing her small clutch on the table. "Sinclair confirmed it himself. The police will conduct a massive raid there to cut off SG's heavy machinery distribution lines."

Shawn whistled softly. "That means the area will be cleared of regular patrols just before the raid begins. A perfect gap."

Rion stared at the points Ren mentioned. "It's not just a gap, Shawn. It's a trap we can utilize. Seifong and SG usually use Pier 12 for ammunition exchanges. If they find out the police are coming, they'll move their cargo earlier."

"And that's where we step in?" Gin asked.

"No," Rion shook his head slowly, a cold smile forming on his lips. "We aren't going to steal the goods. We are going to ensure Seifong believes that Cosa Nostra leaked the raid schedule to the police just to take over their distribution routes."

Ren sat in her desk chair, crossing her legs elegantly. "You want to trigger a civil war between the pillars of Ironport."

"Exactly," Rion answered. "Shawn, you will infiltrate Pier 12 tomorrow night. Leave symbols or chemical traces used only by Cosa Nostra laboratories in Seifong's warehouse. Gin, I need you to hack SG's shipping manifests to make it look like there's an incoming payment from a Cosa Nostra shell account."

Rion then turned toward Ren. "And you, Ren... make sure Sinclair continues to feel that the information he gave you was a form of protection, not betrayal. Keep making him feel like he's your hero."

Ren sipped the remaining wine in her glass. "He's already hooked, Rion. He won't suspect a woman who cried in his arms out of fear for her city's safety."

Rion paused for a moment, looking at Ren with an expression that was hard to decipher. There was a flash of admiration mixed with wariness at how easily Ren manipulated a man of the Police Commissioner's caliber. He realized that Ren was far more dangerous than any Yakuza executioner he had ever faced in Osaka.

"Preparations are complete," Rion said, switching off the map projection. "As of tomorrow, we stop being observers. We start burning this city from the inside out."

The atmosphere in the room shifted drastically. Drowsiness vanished, replaced by a cold adrenaline. The four of them, previously nothing but broken fragments, had now fused into a machine ready to shatter the balance of Ironport.
