Chapter 10 - Found You Again

The words didn't echo.

They *stayed*.

"Found you."

Shen Yichen's fingers were still lightly touching Lin Yue's wrist.

Not gripping.

Not pulling.

Just there.

Like he was confirming reality through contact alone.

Lin Yue didn't move back.

But her breath had changed.

Subtle.

Unintentional.

Shen Yichen noticed anyway.

Of course he did.

His gaze lowered slightly to where his fingers touched her skin.

Then lifted back to her face.

Something inside his expression had shifted again.

Not confusion anymore.

Stability.

Dangerous stability.

Lu Han stepped forward immediately.

"Shen Yichen, stop."

This time, Shen Yichen actually responded.

But he didn't look at him.

"I already stopped once," he said quietly.

A pause.

"I'm not doing it again."

Lin Yue finally spoke.

"Stopped what?"

Shen Yichen's hand tightened slightly.

Not enough to hurt.

Just enough to register.

"Leaving you," he said.

Simple.

Direct.

Certain.

Lin Yue's eyes narrowed slightly.

"You don't even remember what you're talking about."

That should've weakened him.

It didn't.

Instead—

he leaned slightly closer.

Still not breaking contact.

His voice dropped.

"Then tell me why my body remembers before my mind does."

Silence.

That question didn't belong to logic.

It belonged to instinct refusing erasure.

Lu Han's expression tightened.

"That's not real memory," he said quickly.

Shen Yichen finally looked at him.

Slowly.

Coldly.

"It feels real."

That one line shifted everything again.

Because it wasn't denial anymore.

It was acceptance of feeling over truth.

Lin Yue felt it too.

The way his presence had changed.

Not softer.

Not calmer.

Focused.

On her.

Only her.

Shen Yichen spoke again.

"You stood there," he said quietly.

Lin Yue didn't move.

"In the rain," he continued.

A pause.

"And you didn't leave."

His thumb moved slightly against her wrist.

A small motion.

Almost unconscious.

"But I did."

Lin Yue's breath tightened slightly.

Shen Yichen's gaze darkened a fraction.

"I want to fix that."

Lin Yue frowned slightly.

"Fix what?"

He answered immediately.

"Everything after that moment."

Silence dropped again.

Lu Han stepped closer.

"This is exactly why your memory was suppressed—"

Shen Yichen cut him off.

"Stop talking."

Not loud.

Not angry.

Final.

Lu Han stopped.

For the first time.

Because the tone wasn't just authority.

It was possession forming rules.

Shen Yichen's gaze returned to Lin Yue.

And softened just slightly again.

Not emotionally.

Intensely.

"I don't care who you were to me before," he said quietly.

A pause.

"I care what you are to me now."

Lin Yue's voice lowered.

"And what am I?"

That question made him pause.

Just a fraction.

Then—

he stepped closer again.

Now there was no space left between them.

His hand still held her wrist.

Warm.

Steady.

Certain.

His voice dropped.

"…The only thing I don't want to lose again."

Silence.

That wasn't romantic.

Not simple.

It was dangerous attachment without history to regulate it.

Lin Yue's heart tightened slightly.

Because he wasn't chasing memory anymore.

He was choosing her based on instinct alone.

Lu Han's expression hardened.

"He's not stable."

Shen Yichen didn't react.

Only said softly:

"Then I'll stay unstable."

A pause.

"As long as she's here."

And for the first time—

he didn't look like a man remembering.

He looked like a man deciding.
