In the layers of dreams in North Backlund.
Leonard, wearing a white shirt, black vest, and red gloves, moved through the many dreams, contacting the dream's owners, creating some accidents, turning good dreams into Nightmares, playing the role of a True Nightmare.
He skillfully snatched a child's cake in their dream and ate it in front of the child.
The next moment, the dream suddenly trembled violently, sometimes transparent, sometimes pitch black, appearing somewhat erratic.
"Is it time to wake up? Indeed, children's dreams are easier to act in; just snatching some snacks or cake can cause such a big reaction."
Leonard muttered to himself, then turned around, spiritual energy spreading out to envelop him, and he quickly left the dream.
After he left the dream, he appeared in a deep black space, surrounded by various sizes of illusory light spheres, sometimes dense, sometimes sparse.
Behind him, a somewhat transparent illusory light sphere flickered with uncertain brightness a few times, then shattered with a 'pop'.
Leonard closed his eyes slightly, felt the digestion progress of the Nightmare potion within him, and a small smile slowly formed on his lips.
Suddenly, Pallez's somewhat aged voice echoed in his ear:
"You received a letter, from that strange book."
"Hmm? Strange book?"
Leonard didn't immediately understand what the strange book referred to.
After a brief silence, he controlled his consciousness-formed body to float towards his rented place. "That messenger who only throws out a piece of paper every time he's summoned?"
His consciousness returned to his body, and Leonard, leaning on the sofa, suddenly opened his eyes. As he moved to raise his hand, he felt a piece of paper slip from his hand.
He exhaled a long breath. Relying on his familiarity with the room's layout, he walked directly to the gas wall lamp switch and pulled the switch flush with the wall.
The next moment, a dim yellow light illuminated the room. Leonard, unaccustomed to the sudden strong light, squinted his eyes slightly.
Once his eyes adjusted to the room's light, he looked at the letter in his hand as he walked back to the sofa and sat down.
"Heh, esteemed Old Mr. Pallez... and Leonard, am I just an extra?"
Just by reading the beginning of the letter, Leonard scoffed and muttered to himself.
Then he leaned lazily on the sofa and continued reading.
Soon, he finished the not-so-long letter, casually tossed the paper aside, and without any change in expression, began chatting with the Old Man inside him:
"Groselle's Travels... a completely True world within a book. Old man, is that possible?"
"Nothing is impossible. You've been in the Church of the Evernight Goddess for so long, haven't you looked at the records about the Eight Ancient Gods?"
Pallez's tone was still as usual, but his voice was slightly hesitant.
Leonard unconsciously touched his nose with his right hand, then changed the subject:
"Uh, do you think he's telling the Truth? A descendant of yours, a descendant who survived from the Fourth Epoch, could that still be a Saint, or even an Angel?"
"Impossible. Most of the characteristics of this Pathway are on Amon. There are only a scattered two Demigods, and both advanced in the Fifth Epoch."
"If he fell into what he calls the world within a book, it is possible to have survived from the Fourth Epoch until now."
Pallez responded with a hint of helplessness and sigh in his tone.
"What exactly is a world within a book?"
Leonard frowned slightly, asking curiously.
Then he tilted his head slightly, in a posture of listening to something.
"Hmph~, if you read more materials and dossiers in the Church of the Evernight Goddess, you wouldn't have such an ignorant question."
"You should be quite familiar with the name Dragon of Imagination."
"That Dragon King, one of the Eight Ancient Gods?"
Leonard interrupted curiously, asking.
"Don't interrupt me. Don't you even understand that much etiquette?"
Leonard immediately closed his mouth, waiting for the Old Man inside him to continue speaking.
"Hmph~," Pallez lightly snorted, his voice seeming to ponder as he began:
"Regarding the Dragon of Imagination, almost all books will have this sentence: 'The items He imagines will materialize, the kingdom He fantasizes will descend upon the material world, the future He declares will unfold and become reality.'"
"The kingdom He fantasizes will descend upon the material world..."
Leonard muttered, then suddenly exclaimed:
"That world within a book is a world fantasized by the Dragon of Imagination?"
"The authority of the Dragon of Imagination was once recovered by the Ancient Sun God, and later given to one of His children. Either of Them could have done this."
"Ancient Sun God?"
Leonard asked in confusion. He had never heard of this deity, and there were no related records in the church.
"You don't need to know."
"Reply to him. The Dream Stealer potion formula can be given to him. The condition for the trade is that he needs to help me deal with that Marauder Pathway Demigod."
"As for that world within a book, ask him if he has more information."
Pallez's voice echoed in Leonard's mind for a while, then fell silent.
On the Golden Dream, Leyton's figure suddenly materialized on the deck.
He stepped towards the side railing, and a faint blue ripple spread behind him, a "Door" was opened.
Edwina then emerged from the other side of the "Door." As she approached Leyton, she said:
"I've observed your use of the 'Door' and made some analysis and modifications to it. Combined with some arrangements on the Golden Dream, I can appear anywhere on the Golden Dream at any time."
"Good idea. Perhaps you can also try using the 'Door' to lock onto enemies and launch attacks. This will have unexpected effects."
Leyton praised in a low voice and offered some suggestions on the use of the "Door."
Edwina pondered for a moment, then nodded and replied:
"That's a good idea. I'll try to develop a new secret art."
As they spoke, the two had already walked to the ship's railing, looking at the sea to their side with solemn expressions.
There was a huge five-masted sailboat, brightly lit, with figures occasionally moving on it. It was approaching the Golden Dream.
"The ghost ship doesn't have much living aura, yet it's brightly lit like a passenger ship."
Leyton whispered softly, the purple halo in his eyes receding, covered by a layer of hazy white.
A moment later, his eyes cleared again, but his brows were slightly furrowed.
"That ship has anti-divination and anti-prophecy characteristics. I can't see any useful information."
He turned to look at Edwina. As Vice Admiral Iceberg, who had long stayed at sea, she might know something.
Edwina lightly furrowed her brows, pondered for a moment, and said with some uncertainty:
"There are quite a few ghost ships at sea, but not many have this level of anti-divination and anti-prophecy characteristics."
"Among them, the most famous is the 'Specter Empire.' It is one of the treasures of the Five Seas civilization, originating from the Fourth Epoch's Trossos Empire."
"Hmm, a ghost ship of unknown veracity, it's called 'Fate's Casino.'"
"Legend has it that whoever boards this ship will enter an unending gamble, but if anyone can escape the gamble, they will surely obtain all the wealth accumulated on the ship. However, this ghost ship has always been considered by some to be a figment of pirates' imagination."
"Fate's Casino."
Leyton murmured, recalling what Destiny had told him... Could this ghost ship have been attracted by the previous wheel of fortune card's Convergence effect?
His gaze remained fixed on the huge ghost ship approaching from the side. He had a momentary urge to obtain this Prophet characteristic that appeared before him.
However, his Soothsayer's intuition warned him that doing so would be dangerous!
Time passed bit by bit. The huge ghost ship did not try to approach the Golden Dream. As the Golden Dream accelerated, the ghost ship passed them by.
A thin mist had enveloped the sea at some point, largely blocking the crimson moonlight. The sea was no longer clear, and in the direction the ghost ship moved away, only a dark shadow remained.
Edwina surveyed the surrounding sea and said in a low voice:
"According to legend, if you encounter 'Fate's Casino' and choose not to board, you will encounter a certain amount of misfortune."
"Misfortune?"
Leyton frowned slightly. He hadn't felt anything unusual just now.
Immediately, his eyes were again covered by a hazy white layer. The sea shrouded in mist transformed in his vision, with strands of silvery-white threads intertwining and coiling, like a vast long river.
His gaze looked towards the future, and the surrounding fate was somewhat distorted, but there were no abnormal traces, more like a ripple stirred up in the river of fate.
It's similar to a Cataclysmic Interrer, who will constantly passively encounter various disasters... except this disaster is not manifested in themselves, but in things that have come into contact with it.
After pondering for a moment, Leyton looked up at the vanished crimson moon and said softly:
"Tonight's sea might stir up a storm."
Edwina nodded slightly:
"If it's just a storm, it's not too big a problem for the Golden Dream."
