Yellow Light Venithan's expression suddenly became serious. He looked up at Leyton's head, and his eyes gradually became deep and distant, as if observing, peeking, and pondering something.
A moment later, his eyes cleared again. Under Leyton's expectant gaze, Venithan shook his head gently:
"I didn't see the anomaly you mentioned, and my divination also yielded no results."
"However, fate can be concealed. What you see yourself is more reliable than my divination."
At this point, he paused slightly, as if weighing his words, and then continued after a moment:
"Do you know the Dragon of Imagination? Many books describe him with this sentence: 'The future he proclaims will surely unfold and become reality.'"
"Your confusion might be similar; there's something of a sufficiently high Sequence influencing your destiny, and no matter what changes you make, you will ultimately move towards that pre-prepared future."
Leyton gazed at Yellow Light Venithan in front of him. He instinctively felt that the other party seemed to know something but was not prepared to tell him.
Without lingering, he bowed in thanks to the other party, then stepped deeper into the Library.
Soon, he arrived at the resting area where Mr. Hughes often stayed. No Spirit World creatures other than the Seven Lights dared to come here, making it very spacious.
As soon as Leyton arrived, he saw Mr. Hughes surrounded by wisps of light, some grayish-white, some eerie green, some light blue intertwined with deep black, coalescing into light clusters of varying sizes.
"Although these Beyonder characteristics are not of high Sequence, they are numerous enough that, if gathered together, they could easily attract a Saint of the Rose School of Thought due to the Convergence effect. The Church will handle them separately."
Mr. Hughes's voice echoed in Leyton's ears.
He nodded slightly, indicating that he had no objection to this method of handling.
Then Mr. Hughes gently waved his right hand, and the surrounding lights quickly scattered in all directions, disappearing.
He turned to Leyton, cautioning him:
"Your plan against the Rose School of Thought has changed. Don't rely too much on prophecies. Divination is not omnipotent, and neither is prophecy."
"I've already felt it," Leyton replied with a bitter smile.
Mr. Hughes nodded, did not continue this topic, and instead asked:
"Do you want me to help you separate the Leyton identity?"
Leyton nodded gently:
"Yes, I need a completely independent clone to carry the Beyonder characteristics of the Reader Pathway on me."
"But I don't know any Saints or Angels of the Spectator Pathway, and I'm not comfortable opening my mind in front of them."
Mr. Hughes nodded noncommittally:
"No problem."
"Although I cannot simulate the abilities of a Marauder, I can magnify the Convergence effect between Beyonder characteristics, which can also draw out the characteristics within your body."
"However, this will more or less have some impact on you. Perhaps you can also find a trustworthy Marauder Angel."
Is Pallez being watched? Yes, he still has the last Beyonder characteristic Amon needs for godhood, so it's natural for the Storm and others to pay attention to him.
Leyton nodded slightly, then chuckled:
"That's not difficult. I know an Angel of The Marauder pathway, and he's quite friendly."
Mr. Hughes stopped speaking. He extended his right hand forward, and wisps of brass-colored light emerged, swirling in his hand, gradually coalescing into a slightly ethereal sphere of light.
"Relax your mind, do not resist."
He mused, then gently pushed his right palm forward, and the slightly ethereal sphere of light immediately submerged into Leyton's head.
Leyton closed his eyes tightly, feeling only a momentary trance. Past memories constantly surfaced in his mind, and those memories belonging to Leyton Soth became exceptionally clear.
Feeling something gradually peeling away from him, Leyton suddenly felt a sense of relief, as if a burden had been lifted, and his mind became exceptionally light.
Beside Leyton, a figure identical to him in appearance, wearing a light yellow trench coat, with slightly disheveled golden hair, and still bearing obvious youthfulness, slowly emerged and quickly solidified.
"Done."
Mr. Hughes glanced at the separated Leyton Soth, and with an inexplicable ease, murmured:
"You are still him, but not entirely him. However, I have fulfilled my promise."
"Promise?"
Leyton opened his eyes and looked at Mr. Hughes in confusion. The other party's face was expressionless, appearing somewhat aloof and serious. He merely glanced at him lightly, saying nothing.
Leyton tactfully did not press further. He turned his body to look at the clone that had separated from him, examining it carefully.
Aside from the lingering youthfulness that had not completely faded, the other party was exactly like him, even wearing the same clothes.
Leyton rubbed his chin with his right thumb, thought for a moment, then took off the glasses on his nose and handed them to the other party.
After the other party took the glasses and put them on, he nodded in satisfaction, chuckling:
"I'm giving the identity of Leyton Soth back to you. From today on, I am only Al Tines."
Leyton Soth, who had already put on his glasses, smiled and nodded in response:
"Good evening, Mr. Tines."
"It's a new year already. I think I need to go back to Feynapotter first. Conveniently, Pallez also needs some time to recover."
"No problem. Do you need me to send you back?"
"I'm just an ordinary person now. If you don't want me to die from Spirit World information pollution as soon as I step out of this Library, then give me a ride."
Leyton nodded gently, turned, and politely thanked Mr. Hughes and bid farewell.
Then he reached out and grabbed his clone's shoulder. Dots of starlight spread out, tightly enveloping both their bodies, then rapidly faded and became transparent, leaving the Library, leaving the Spirit World Depths.
After wandering in the Spirit World for a considerable amount of time, Leyton, with his clone, arrived at the Spirit World area corresponding to Madan.
In the second-floor garden belonging to Bugs Bunny on White Maple Street in Madan City, two figures quickly outlined themselves.
Leyton pushed forward with his hand, and Leyton Soth, wearing glasses and still slightly youthful, stumbled forward a step, his figure entering a "Door," and then crashing into the main door downstairs.
He turned his head to glance at the garden on the second floor of the house next door. There was no one there anymore—what a timid fellow, hiding so quickly. Is it just going home?
Muttering softly, he reached out and rang the doorbell.
Ding-dong! Ding-dong!
Shortly after the doorbell rang, the main door was opened from the inside, not by the familiar butler, but by his Mother, Isabel.
Her golden hair was tied up high, she wore a thick fur coat, and her glasses were rarely off her nose. Her light blue eyes seemed weary, and there were noticeable wrinkles at the corners of her eyes and on her forehead.
She froze for a moment when she saw Leyton Soth standing outside the door, her eyes filled with intense emotion, momentarily lost in thought.
The two stood stunned for a moment. Leyton Soth recovered first, deliberately lowering his voice to make it sound more serious:
"Esteemed Ms. Isabel, I believe I am in dire need of a warm hug right now, rather than being left out in the cold wind at the front door!"
Warm tears streamed down Isabel's face. She lunged forward and embraced Leyton Soth tightly.
Her arms wrapped around him forcefully, as if afraid that what she was facing was merely a dream, and she desperately wanted to prove that the child in her arms was truly real.
"Cough, cough!"
"Ms. Isabel, I can't breathe."
Only then did Isabel reluctantly loosen her grip, her hands trembling slightly as she cupped Leyton's face, trying to commit every detail of him to memory.
A moment later, she hugged her son tightly again, her voice hoarse and broken as she said:
"You're finally back, my familiar child, my child, my True child, you're finally back…"
"I thought I would never see you again…"
In the garden on the second floor nearby, Leyton withdrew his gaze, frowning slightly.
Mother, Ms. Isabel's reaction isn't quite right. She seems to have known for a long time that there was a problem with my identity, that I was no longer her former child.
"Isabel is an excellent scholar. Although she is not keen on Beyonder powers, and even somewhat repulsed by them, this does not prevent her from becoming a Blessed of My Lord."
Leyton turned abruptly. Behind him, Mr. Hughes had appeared at some unknown time.
He frowned slightly, his tone somewhat complex as he said:
"So… she knew all along that I wasn't her child?"
"Yes, as repayment for your use of this identity, when you no longer need it, you must return it to Leyton Soth."
Mr. Hughes nodded gently.
Leyton's brows gradually furrowed. He tilted his head slightly, carefully sensing the connection between himself and Leyton Soth.
Although the identity separated by the Dream Weaver ability is an independent entity, there would still be some mystical connections between them.
Relying on this mystical connection, he confirmed that the clone possessing the Leyton identity was still considered himself and had not been replaced by the original Leyton Soth's Spirit.
He turned his head in confusion, looking at Mr. Hughes behind him, awaiting his explanation.
