Eva just watched the scene unfold knowing fully well that a during full of water wouldn't affect her mom in any way, to her surprise Fredrick came to pick her up from the hospital and took her home.
She got down from the car with a sigh, preparing for any drama that might present itself. She stepped into the house, the air felt a bit heavy as she laid eyes on Lizzy and Luke eating, there was a food already set up for her, the thought of what happened to her mom flashed before her eyes and in top suspicious, she felt sick and told him she can't eat, she was a bit tired and would just go to sleep.
Fredrick looked a bit upset but didn't drag it. He nodded at her and she climbed up to her room
Today was a bit much. The weird thing happening to her got her thinking; it couldn't have been a coincidence. Her mom collapsing, the new school she was still adapting to, That weird portal or whatever that appeared today. "Maybe I'm finally losing it…" she thought as she laid in bed, staring at air
She woke up late, without her mom's early knock on her door. She looked at the clock. "8:25 a.m. Oh my god, I'm late!". Now Lizzy and Luke had left for school and Fredrick had gone to work. She was already late and it's not like she had any other way to get to school; Frederick had gone to work, her mom was basically unconscious (sleeping heavily) and still recovering.
She made her way down stairs, an idea clicked and she headed straight to Fredrick's room, she wasn't exactly sure what she was doing there but she thought she'd might as well satisfy her curiosity. she started searching his room, not looking of anything in particular but maybe some poison or a file, something, anything "shout I am a bad guy"
She searched an searched trying her best not to move anything out of place, until she finally gave up.
She decided to leave but on her way out she heard a creak from the floor, she placed her leg again and noticed there was a loose floor board. Eva immediately ran to her room grab her phone and back to Fredrick's room, she pulled open the floor board and saw some documents
This weren't any kind of document that he owned, this was a pile of files that belonged to her mom, she picked it up, scared that anyone could come at any time, she didn't read any just took a picture of each page and dropped it back.
She also came across some powder in a plastic bag, she took some sample in a container and took a picture of it as well as the whole floor board and left the room after arranging everything the way she met it
She dressed up for school and left for in an hour, though school was a bit far, her mom made her walk couple times which makes her think of her mom was punishing her or making her independent
When she finally got to School, everyone was on break has she expected, she remembered Liora and her group of friends and decided to head to them
She sat down on the seat opposite them, she greeted them. "Hey! Can I ask for a favor?" she saw the way they all looked at her in disgust, Liora didn't even bat an eye.
"And why do you think we should help you?" one of her friends spoke , Eva just looked at them confused.
"you think you are more than you are just because your beautiful, well listen here-" one of them snapped at her. "Stop… you don't have to waste your breath (my head hurts already)" Eva cut her off as she stood up to leave.
"Where do you think you are going?" Liora got up and questioned Eva furiously, Eva turned to look at her
"you have to apologize to her, if you don't know your place, I show you" Liora continued, glaring at Eva with a condescending look, expecting an apology
"Liora, stop craving attention!" everyone turned to see who the daring yet foolish person trying to play hero was. All eyes fell on Eric "why do you do yourself a favor and finish your food before you choke with all that yelling your doing, didn't you learn table manners?" Eric continued
The crowd was filled with giggles from different angles. Laughter and whispers that could drive a person mad with embarrassment. Liora, whose pride just took a huge blow, just stared before quietly sitting down.
"Don't you try to embarrass her just because she dumped our sorry butt" one of her friends stood up for her, "Oh please Tina, we all know that was the story you all cooked up so she will see herself more than what she actually is, you guys couldn't be more fake… Oh wai, your whole life is already taking the lead" Eric said and the room fell silent for a moment. Someone yelled "Sick burn!!!" and the everyone laughed.
Eric crossed his arm over Eva neck has he grinned triumphantly Eva looked at him blankly, slightly confused but grateful.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Eric asked looking down at her. Eva took his hand of her neck and walked off and Eric followed behind her
As soon as they reached the hallway, Eric stood in front of her "a little thank you could be nice or a kiss on the cheek?" Eric said smiling
"I didn't exactly ask for your help" Eva said crossing her arms over her chest. " I helped whether you asked for it or not. it is appropriate to say thank you" Eric said moving closer
"Thank you" Eva said rolling her eyes, Eric smiled and said "good girl". "I am not a dog" Eva protest
"Who said that only dogs could be a good" Eric asked raising her chin up close to his face, "you know you are annoying…" Eva said, her face heating as she realized the distance between them was closing in. "I also know you like it" Eric smiled
Eva got a hold of herself and pushed his hand away. "can you stop that. we are basically family…" "I know your smart enough to know we won't be…" Eric said
Eva just stared at him has he prepared to leave, he patted her head and walk back and join the rest of his classmates "wait" Eva called out to him
"yes" Eric replied stopping and turning his head to find her staring at him, "I have a question" she said
Eric moved closer to her "I am listening " he said in her ear as he tucked a bit do her hair behind her ear.
