Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Newly Improved Construct

A week after the voodoo was lifted, Leylin got back into his usual routine of absorbing and studying of arcane magic. Vereesa, who kept visiting and enjoying their time together, also returned to the ranger camp.

This week gave Leylin and Vereesa a buffer period. She came out of the haze of failure, and Leylin's bewilderment regarding the decisions made by the Silvermoon Council.

A new day, Leylin's mage life once again entered a normal state.

The Mage Tower, which had been away for many days, once again restored its former scene. The teacher and student were carrying out their own magic studies respectively.

The research projects were different, but they were all very serious. This was the commonality between teachers and students.

In the morning, there was further study of arcane magic, and in the afternoon, there was the advanced development of constructs. Leylin's life was proceeding in an orderly manner.

"Have you finished reading the previous magic notes?" The teacher suddenly asked while developing the work at hand.

Leylin was still immersed in the general knowledge of arcane magic when his instructor forcibly pulled him out, feeling a bit uncomfortable. "I've learned everything on it already. Now I just need to deepen my arcane studies."

"Well, very good," the teacher said, casually picking up a used notebook from the lab table beside him and placing it next to Leylin.

"This notebook contains information about some arcane spells. You can take a look. It will help you further your magical studies."

Leylin was no fool. The content contained in the previous magic notebook covered almost all of his magic studies this month. The instructor had a reason and plan for everything he did; this was his usual style.

He picked up the notebook, which had soft paper and a loose binding. To keep it safe, Leylin placed it in his magic bag.

After a brief exchange, the Mage Tower fell silent again.

Leylin left the top floor and entered the material storage room on the next floor. The materials here are all for construct crafting.

A week ago, the Grand Magister and Leylin solved the voodoo problem, and the Silvermoon Council awarded them 500 gold coins.

Belo'vir gave half of the gold coins to Vereesa, asking her to bring it to Leylin. But Leylin refused, telling the teacher that the gold coins should be used directly to purchase the construct materials.

He was already very familiar with arcane core array construction. Although he had successfully crafted the new arcane core array he had developed, he was making improvements every day, and Leylin wasn't afraid of failing.

Grand Magister had pre-made a large number of arcane core arrays for Leylin to use in arcane construct construction. Here were 30 arcane core arrays for him to experiment with.

The previous batch of materials, imbued with arcane energy at the observatory, hadn't been used up yet, so Leylin began to use them to further enhance his first arcane construct.

The blueprints were in Leylin's mind, as clear as if they were right before his eyes, possessing [Knowledge Comprehension]. In other words, he knew the blueprints by heart.

This was the most common blueprint for a defensive construct, created by Grand Magister Belo'vir two hundred years ago. Even today, these defensive constructs can be found on the streets of Silvermoon City. They serve as a substitute for the Royal Guard, maintaining the city's security.

Leylin could create information transmission arrays, and he was quite skilled at it.

Creating a basic construct required 36 information transmission arrays. Leylin spent an hour creating and refining all the arrays.

He then used the remaining time to activate the magic furnace before him. He needed to process some materials to create the new and improved arcane construct's body.

The arrays alone weren't enough; the construct needed a strong body capable of functioning within them.

The magic furnace contained a pre-defined template, which could be manipulated by magic to create the desired construct body part. This magical device was very flexible, far more versatile than human forging. However, it also had its drawbacks: it could only produce a limited number of constructs.

After the construct's limbs, head, and power hub were completely fabricated, Leylin began deconstructing and constructing his new arcane construct. Utilizing each and every part, he recycled some parts of his first arcane construct and enhancing it even further.

This was the key to construct creation. Good materials equals to a better construct.

Utilizing the dual arcane core array and 36 information transmission arrays, and harnessing magical energy, the various parts of the construct's body merge with it. The entire process relies purely on the manipulation of magical energy, no manual intervention required.

Honestly, it's quite difficult. Just like the new arcane core array, even if one understands the principles, they still can't create it.

Leylin engrossed in improving his first arcane construct. He had just spent the past week thoroughly reviewing all the knowledge on constructs, storing everything from the obvious to the obscure and the incomprehensible in his mind. With his newly acquired knowledge, there's no telling when a sudden enlightenment will strike.

This knowledge is ingenious, so ingenious that its appearance is so unexpected.

They began to mobilize. Leylin and his teacher were more talented at crafting such constructs than other arcanists. Their mastery of magic was their advantage.

They unleashed the energy of the dual core array, tracing the corresponding parts of the construct's body through a complex network of runic connections. These runic connections were predetermined and only worked when the construct connected to the correct connection point. If not, the arcane core array would be destroyed.

On the other hand, Leylin infused magical energy into every part of the construct. Thinking and innovating at the same time, the matching and fusion work progressed very smoothly.

Coupled with the data gathered on his first construct, Leylin is now like a super machine. Apart from his own mistakes, such as clumsy hands, careless hands, and stupid mistakes, there is nothing to be picky about.

Leylin focused his mind and started the precise production work. After a week of rest, Leylin's thinking was clear and his arrangements were flexible.

Not a single arcane core array was wasted, and a brand-new arcane construct appeared in front of him.

He took the construct down from the huge rune array and gently injected a trace of arcane energy into its body. The construct's sapphire eyes flashed with light.

Defensive construct, try its performance. Leylin thought to himself.

He directly hit it with his fist, and the defensive construct reacted instantly. Leylin's fist landed hard on the steel body made of thorium.

"Dong~~"

The unique sound of metal spread throughout the entire wizard tower. Leylin chuckled, his right fist clashed with the construct's fist, and he excited with its durability wanted to test some spell on it.

Hearing the noise, the teacher came down. Seeing Leylin's newly and improved masterpiece, and then seeing the dual arcane core arrays stored in the magic memory, he smiled and said: "Excellent, student, your growth rate has exceeded my expectations."

Leylin smiled foolishly, and he accepted the mentor's praise in full.

"Pack up, we are going to the Silver Moon Council. There is an opportunity for commendation for the last mission." The mentor said lightly.

Leylin frowned. The Silvermoon Council made a decision that neither he nor the teacher could imagine last time.
