Two weeks flew by amidst the tedious arcane studies.
Leylin was now pondering of taking up some professions, either taking blacksmithing, engineering. But the best books about it are found in Ironforge and Gnomeregan. Anyways, he would try looking on it in Silvermoon City first.
Today, his mentor dispatched Leylin to the construct testing grounds to experiment with the newly improved arcane construct. This new construct utilized arrays from his teachers' research and innovated by some of his ideas.
Refined even further by his teacher's vast knowledge of construct and core arrays. Belo'vir named these arrays "Leylin."
Leylin took a simple document and his arcane construct to the ranger camp outside Silvermoon City.
The document outlined the experimental method and subject. Notably, the subject was a Ranger General, Sylvanas.
After explaining his purpose to the Farstrider's Temple's guards, Leylin, the mage, led his construct to the temple's upper floor.
Vereesa was also present, and Leylin greeted his beloved warmly. After her previous failure, she trained even harder. She always completed every mission with flying colors. In order to erase her own humiliation, Vereesa tried her best.
The Ranger General was there, and Vereesa was also worried. After all, this was not the inn, and she could not crawl into Leylin's arms and enjoy the warmth of them.
Vereesa blushed, smiled, then glanced at the Ranger General, and did not dare to say anything else.
After handing the documents to Sylvanas, Leylin walked directly to his beloved. He naturally took her hand and said, "How are you? You haven't been hurt these days, have you?"
Vereesa let Leylin hold her hand, her face full of happiness. "Fortunately, nothing went wrong. After nearly a week of fighting, the trolls have calmed down a lot."
"Don't work so hard. Take more rest when necessary. I know you want to prove yourself, but this requires a time, doesn't it?" Leylin stroked the scar on Vereesa's shoulder and said distressedly.
As Leylin caressed her scar, Vereesa said wryly, "Not as pretty anymore, am I?"
Scratching her Vereesa's high nose, Leylin comforted her, "No, no matter what happens, you'll always be the most beautiful elf in my heart."
The Ranger General, setting the documents aside, coughed and said sternly, "This is just this once, and it won't happen again."
Only the two sisters and himself remained on the second floor of the temple. Leylin thought to himself: old-fashioned and mean.
Vereesa withdrew her hand and whispered, "We'll talk about it tonight. The next mission is the day after tomorrow, so we still have plenty of time."
Leylin smiled and nodded, saying, "No problem, I'll see you tonight."
Vereesa stuck her tongue out at Leylin and ran outside the temple. Leylin and Sylvanas were the only two left on the top floor.
After ten minutes of silence, Leylin grew restless. "How about we get started, Ranger General?"
Sylvanas said calmly. "It's not just you who's going to experiment with the constructs. There's another magister who's also going to experiment with a new type of construct today."
"Who is it?" Leylin asked curiously.
"Dar'Khan, a magister from the Silvermoon Council," Sylvanas said flatly.
It was him! This bastard had made me wait so long in vain again.
Unfortunately, without Dar'Khan, the experiment couldn't proceed. So, Leylin simply slumped over the table and took a nap. He'd been studying arcane magic these days, with little free time.
Leylin wasn't shy at all; he'd actually fallen asleep in the Farstrider's Temple.
Sylvanas admired the low-level mage before her. She couldn't help but stare at him a few more times.
Half an hour later, Dar'Khan Drathir, dressed in red mage garb, appeared on the second floor of the temple. Sylvanas patted the table, signaling Leylin to stop sleeping.
Bleary-eyed Leylin stood up, stretched leisurely, and said, "Shall we begin?"
Sylvanas nodded, leading the two mages to the elevator platform outside the temple.
Below the platform was the Construct's testing area.
The location of the experiment on the ground floor of the Farstrider's Temple was a strategic consideration. Rangers, with their agility and explosive power, were perfect candidates for testing constructs.
Dar'Khan and Leylin stood side by side on the outer edge of the platform. Dar'Khan disdained Leylin's company. He disliked Belo'vir, and he disliked Leylin just as much.
The two mages simultaneously brought the arcane construct to the testing area. Dozens of arcane measurement circles surrounded the testing area, used to measure the construct's defensive stats and offensive power.
Leylin's construct was smaller than the average construct. Due to a lack of materials and funds, Leylin and his mentor had no money to furnish it.
Though the design is handsome, Leylin based it from RX-78 Gundam, the smaller version. Same scale as an average construct but it is just smaller than leaner than the average arcane construct.
Dar'Khan's arcane construct, on the other hand, was much larger than average. After all, it was a creation of the Silvermoon Council, so funding was never a problem.
"General Sylvanas, test my construct first. At least it won't waste your time," Dar'Khan said with disdain, gazing at Leylin and his scrap metal.
Leylin didn't care, staring straight ahead at the Ranger General on the testing ground. He completely ignored Dar'Khan's sarcasm.
This nonchalant expression only intensified Dar'Khan's agitation. He clenched his fists, thinking, "You'll be embarrassed soon enough."
Dar'Khan activated the power of the Silvermoon Council's constructs, and the new constructs' eyes radiated a purple light. Following the instructions written on the arcane core array, the constructs began to attack the Ranger General before them.
Sylvanas's agility was remarkable, and despite the construct's speed, none of them could reach her. Instead, Sylvanas's counterattacks nearly overwhelmed the arcane construct.
To test the data, Sylvanas slowed her attacks, allowing Dar'Khan's construct to repeatedly attack.
Leylin ignored Dar'Khan, but he carefully observed the constructs. After careful consideration, Leylin came to a conclusion: these arcane constructs created by the Silvermoon Council were a complete joke!
Dar'Khan also noticed Leylin's facial expression. He was actually laughing! What was he laughing about?
The experimental data was quickly monitored by the arcane measurement arrays.
The new arcane construct had a reaction speed score of 8, mechanical strength of 8, and agility of 7, for an overall rating of 23. This made it an A-level construct.
Dar'Khan was pleased with the data; it was at least better than his previous scores.
It was Leylin's construct's turn to perform. Leylin gestured to Sylvanas, and the Ranger General nodded.
Dar'Khan, standing nearby, didn't leave. He wanted to see how poorly the construct the teacher and student had created were. Dar'Khan didn't believe that Belo'vir, obsessed with unrealistic projects, could create a powerful arcane construct.
Before this, every arcane construct test had been conducted with the Silvermoon Council were winning.
