I held the parchment tightly, her scent drifting into my nose
She'd cut herself to write this.
"You're not protecting her, so she protects herself," my wolf hissed.
How can I protect someone I know nothing about so secretive, and she doesn't even let me get close to her.
"Find Anita, bring her to me," I barked orders at the guards who trembled under my gaze.
"The rest of you, I need to know where my twin is. Go find him," I ordered.
A lot has been slipping under my nose. Dwae wasn't someone to sit in the midst of chaos; I believed he was pulling one of these strings.
I went to my mom's room. It's been long. The room smelled of dust, and the air was heavy. My throat tightened. Memories of the last time I sat on her bed as a kid came rushing back. I got up, no longer in the mood.
Sounds of footsteps echoed across the hallway.
It was Anita, and all my wolf wanted was to slam into her.
"My Alpha, you're back," Anita murmured as the guards dragged her in.
