Main Quest: Savior of Humanity! Objective: Within three days, eliminate 95% of the vampires and werewolves in the city.Current Completion: Vampires — 0% | Werewolves — 87%
A few casual laps around the city, and half the mission was already done. That kind of efficiency was… almost too comfortable.
Wait—hold on.Why only eighty-seven percent?
Li Qingyuan stared speechlessly at the smoking ruins behind him. He'd blown up nearly half a district—how the hell were there still werewolves left alive?
What kind of cockroach-tier vitality is this?!
Or maybe… some of them weren't even in the base when he detonated the explosives?
Damn it, this mission system doesn't even give me a minimap! How am I supposed to track them all down? This is just cruel.
He glanced around. People were already swarming from all directions, curious onlookers rushing toward the scene.Yeah, now was definitely not the time to go back for cleanup.
That kind of earth-shattering explosion had naturally made everyone think there'd been an earthquake. But national agencies weren't fools. Even though Hungary was a small country, it still had basic civil defense systems.
Once they realized that this "earthquake" was actually a man-made explosion, the entire state apparatus would mobilize to hunt down whoever caused it.
Fortunately, his mission timer had less than twenty hours left.By the time the Hungarian authorities figured out whether it was a natural disaster or an act of terror, he'd already be long gone.
After all—not every country could react swiftly to a crisis.
First things first: finish off the main targets. The stragglers could come later.
Moving against the flow of people, Li Qingyuan reached his parked car, hopped in, and sped toward the outskirts—toward Victor's Manor.
Pulling out a missile launcher hidden in the trees, he hoisted it onto his shoulder, aimed it at the distant estate, and pressed the trigger with a satisfying click.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—!
A dozen missiles shot into the sky, vanishing from sight before slamming down on the manor. The vampires inside didn't even have time to react before the explosions tore through the compound.
A series of dazzling fireballs blossomed like deadly fireworks, and panicked figures began fleeing from the flames.
Running outside during a bombing?Sure, that instinct made sense—but did none of you geniuses remember what species you are?
Under the blazing sunlight, black smoke rose as vampires disintegrated one after another.Li Qingyuan couldn't help shouting at the absurdity of it all.
Wasn't this world supposed to be a science documentary? The kind where they explain vampires and werewolves as "genetic mutations"? Then how the hell do you explain sunlight turning you into ashes?
Mission Progress: Vampires — 91% | Werewolves — 87%
When the dust finally settled, Victor's Manor had become a sea of rubble. And Li Qingyuan… was once again dumbfounded.
Why?!
He'd already destroyed both the werewolf and vampire headquarters, yet his mission progress was still incomplete?
These idiots were so unorganized! Scattered everywhere, with zero sense of discipline.
There was still twenty-two percent left to complete—where was he supposed to find the rest?
Thankfully, Victor's Manor was in a remote area, and every police unit in Budapest was still busy dealing with the so-called "earthquake" in the werewolf district. No one would come here anytime soon.
So he drove straight to the ruins and sent out a swarm of a dozen mechanical flies, letting them buzz through the debris in search of survivors—especially the resting chambers of the three Vampire Elders.
After all, both Marcus and Victor were buried deep underground, waiting to be reawakened. The missiles had certainly flattened the manor, but those two were sealed far beneath the surface. It wasn't certain the blasts had killed them.
Ten minutes later, Li Qingyuan strolled out of the ruins whistling. On his interface, the vampire completion rate had risen to 97%.
Marcus and Victor were indeed powerful—at their peak, even stronger than Lucian—but right now, they were little more than mummified husks sealed inside metal coffins.Anyone could have taken them out, let alone a biological bomb.
He chuckled to himself. When he first drew that skill, he thought it was weak and slow—practically useless. But now? It was an absolute godsend.
Otherwise, killing two ancient monsters buried under tons of rubble would've been nearly impossible.
Now, only one task remained—finish off the werewolves.
He had no clue where they were hiding, but he already had a plan.
Meanwhile…
"Are you okay?"Selene looked worriedly at Michael, whose face kept twitching and contorting.
The two had been tied up here for half a day. At first, she'd assumed escaping the ropes would be child's play for her.But after dislocating both shoulders in failed attempts, Selene had no choice but to give up.
Her strength had been suppressed.Right now, she wasn't the agile Death Dealer she used to be—just a delicate, helpless young woman. The kind of fragile heroine used in dramas purely to emphasize vulnerability.
With escape off the table, the two had no choice but to talk.
After hours of conversation, they practically knew everything about each other—height, measurements, phone numbers, family background, moral beliefs… all of it.If they hadn't been tied up, they probably would've been rolling in bed by now.
What could they do? They were the designated male and female leads.Leave them alone for more than three minutes, and they were destined to fall for each other—never mind half a day.
But mid-conversation, Selene noticed Michael's expression twisting again, and she frowned. Was he… sick?
After all, they'd been bound here for hours without food or water—and he'd lost a lot of blood.
"I—I'm fine…"Michael grit his teeth.
Normally, he prided himself on his iron bladder, but now… things didn't seem so great.
"Are you sure? Is it from blood loss? Do you feel dizzy?"Selene's worry deepened. His face clearly said otherwise.
Part of it was affection—but part of it was instinct. Somehow, she knew Michael was important to the vampire race.
Just then—Creaaak—
The basement door swung open with an eerie screech that echoed through the silence.
Selene turned sharply toward the entrance—And Michael, startled by the sound, lost control of the very thing he'd been struggling to hold in.
A strange smell began to fill the air.
Both Li Qingyuan and Selene froze, staring at Michael's gradually darkening pants in disbelief.
