As I awoke from a dreamless sleep once more I couldn't help but groan from a injury I received a few days prior due to the Lord of the dead, but he got what he wanted the [Starlight shard] so he had two of the seven Shard memories and Seishan had the 3rd one. Progress was slow on getting them but we needed them to stop Nephis or now more known as lady Changing Star from doing anything reckless. The fight had been hard Gemma almost died even with regeneration I was playing on the support role using gorilla tactics to confuse the creature while Gunlaug with Gemma were engaging in close range after a several close call I managed to kill the creature sinking both of his daggers inside the creature's body and letting them explode.
As I walked through thr halls of the bright castle approaching Gunlaug's chambers I was almost nervous this was a risky plan after all.
Entering without knocking and immesdetly sitting infront of Gunlaug we both stayed quite for a while relaxing at the quite and peaceful chambers but as all things it couldn't last "I wish to leave for a while"
I stated not breaking eye contacting "to where and why" Gunlaug didint waste time immeadetly asking the important questions "I wish to visit an old "friend"" "for how long?" As I pondered the question tapping my fingers on the table in a rythmic pattern "could be two could be six months"

Saying goodbye to Gemma as well I left the bright castle and soon the outer settlement quickly climbing on top of the wall I looked st the massive crater "time to return to a friend" if this idea worked he would grow infinitely faster and stronger than at his current pace he barely got five fragments a day here and he didint want to use all of his soul shards he got as a lieutenant.
Aa I crossed the crater at record time his flying skills way better than before he finally saw it ."i'm back" i muttered lowly as I looked at the dammed tree.
As I decended I saw plenty of scavengers laying around the tree 'it got new puppets eh' aa I touched the ground all of the creature's immeadetly rushed to me undoubtedly being lead by the tree, as I weaved between these weak creatures and sliced them up with my [Midnight shard] I couldn't help but think that I was a far better guardian than these weaklings, and as the thought came to be I realized I was in.
The plan was simple milk out the tree for all of its fruits and he would eat double at least do unlike the last time where he ate about 10 a day he was aiming atleast for 20 as the first few days pasted I knew what was coming he was close to his 3rd core, close to being a demon as I picked up the last fruit I needed for my core I couldn't help but feel a little fear even with my flaw, I knew what was going to happen he already felt the pain it would bring and there was no guarantee that it wouldn't even be more painful than last time.
