On this day when Ran and Conon went out to buy some groceries Rito also went out to get some and bought back the things he wanted with his own money of course. Those three kids appeared to connect Ran to Shinichi.
When they returned Rito put his things in his room and went to talk to Kogoro about something related to a case. Rito did not expect that a case would come at this moment. After all he did not remember all the cases.
Conon that opened the door got hit by a bunch of boxes that are toys and other things. Seeing them Rito has vaguely remembered the case details. He knows that this time he would not get any confession like before.
The criminal is someone that lost his son and he blames it on the doctor. This kind of person doesn't have to live and Rito did not care but has to help after all Kogoro would go out to solve the case.
Rito don't want them to drag the things so he let the person explain first and started to connect the dots before Conon could even think. Rito looked at the toys and casually asked the questions one after the other after seeing the letter.
"Sir, did these toys come broken or your son broke them." Rito asked
"No, they came broken which is quite strange." The doctor answered.
"Sir, you are a surgeon right, have you performed any surgery that failed 2 years ago that is related to a kid that is about the same age as your son. Also is that person sent anything other than these toys and money, like some flowers" Rito asked again.
