Chapter 17: experiment and results
"Sir, you are a surgeon right, have you performed any surgery that failed 2 years ago that is related to a kid that is about the same age as your son. Also is that person sent anything other than these toys and money, like some flowers" Rito asked again.
"Now that you mention it, they did send flowers it is a morning glory that should be grown in a green house because it could not stand this cold weather. It was sent on February nineteenth for the last two years." The doctor said.
"That's it morning glory means short lived love, did you perform any surgery on that day of the year before that failed which is related to a boy…" Rito asked the question.
The surgeon thought about it for a while as he did many surgeries over the years and cannot remember everything. So after thinking he called the hospital he worked to check the details carefully and the result came.
"Yes, there is a case like that and the father of the child made a lot of fuss and blamed me for the death of his child." As soon as the doctor spoke till here his expression changed and the faces of both Conon and Mouri Kogoro are not good.
They also came to this conclusion and quickly called to check on the child that was left at the kindergarten. But it was found that the child is not there and they quickly called the cops to save the child.
In this case Ran should doubt Conon and very close to finding out that Conon is Shinichi. Rito doesn't want that to happen right now. So with his intervention things directly changed. So Ran did not doubt Conon. Instead the case started to solve quickly.
Naturally when they came over it was just at the time when the convict wanted to kill the child. Even thought they solve the plot early this was corrected by the plot back to make it advance a little to make the critical situation for Conon to perform.
Unfortunately Rito took the chance of Conon and performed in his place to cover up for Conon. Conon wanted to act but Rito took the chance to act early to shoot the foot ball that two kids are playing on the side.
Rito saved the child and they started to return but unfortunately Conan still made some mistakes and Ran started to doubt him immediately. After all it is the time for him to be doubted. Rito can clearly see that Ran doubts Conon now.
But Rito doesn't want to meddle in it for the time being and let them play along. He has already caused plenty of plot deviation and plot correction. If he acts more then he would be considered as a threat or virus by the world.
Being in moderation is a good thing instead of jumping up and down causing trouble as for how Conon solves the doubt of Ran. It is something he has to think about and Rito would not be moving his hands and feet in this matter for the time being.
Now is the time to hide carefully and see how much he would be affected after his previous actions of meddling with the plot. Yes it is an experiment by Rito to see what would happen if he meddles in the plot.
During this time Rito became silent and he started to wait for the next case to see where he can get the benefits. He would go out during this time with changed appearance to beat some local thugs that he caught to make them confess.
They are contributing small number of points to him letting him improve his skills step by step. No matter how many times he caught those people and makes them confess they would still go on the same path again and again.
It is impossible to get rid of crime in a place or a country. This is because it is a part of the world. Many organizations of the country are working just for the crimes they make. If there are no crimes all these people would go without jobs.
But this world or any world or place including the most powerful gods, there is a small part of corruption in everything. This is part of the world that makes the world complete. As long as it is there Rito can gain points in one way or the other.

Few days passed by and in the morning Rito completed eating breakfast and came to the Mouri detective agency office. He saw both Mouri Kogoro and Conon reading something. Well one is reading a news paper and the other is reading some detective book.
Rito did not disturb them instead he sat on the side silently reading something of his own. He doesn't know why but he always felt that today is much longer than other days. Also there is no school today.
Right at that time Ran came over with excited appearance like a kid that got something good to show off or something like that and said. "Hey have you heard that the medieval armor in the museum started to move on its own."
Conon that is reading a detective book stopped reading it and looked at Ran to speak. "Huh? A medieval armor moved by itself…?" After that he looked back into the book without showing much interest.
Ran did not notice this and started to say the story. "You know it is true. The two guards saw it with their own eyes and the story has spread all over the place… it looks like fun let's check out this place…"
"Hahaha…." Both Kogoro and Conon started to laugh like stupid people and Rito did not laugh. Instead his expression became serious and his mind sank into the thoughts about various plot routines.
