Chapter 38 - Silver City pt1.

As I continued to look at their stunned faces, I looked towards Dad to see if he had a clue about what was happening, but as I looked towards him for answers, he simply shrugged, being just as confused as me.

"God?"

We both quickly looked towards Sera, who had suddenly spoken.

"Excuse me?" Dad said, raising his right eyebrow.

"Oh... it's nothing. Anyway, I will consider your proposal in changing the exterminations... if my Adam has nothing against it." She looked towards Adam with a stern expression, and Adam simply avoided her gaze, looking at the ground like something interesting was happening there.

"That would be amazing! Thank you, Sera," Dad said with a genuine smile on his face.

"It's no problem, Lucifer," she said, giving a small bow, Adam's lieutenant also giving a bow — Adam still ignoring us.

"Thanks for having us, Sera. Anyways, it's time for me and my wittle baby to go home. Lily's probably back by now." Dad began walking toward the exit door until suddenly Sera teleported in front of us.

"Whoa, Sera, we can't really leave if you block the door."

"My apologies, Lucifer, but we also have a proposition for you," Sera said, looking determined.

"And that would be?"

"I would like for your son to visit Heaven."

Dad looked absolutely stunned — he didn't expect Sera to say those words.

"Why would you want that?" Dad asked Sera, all the while tightening his grip around me slightly.

"It's nothing serious, Lucifer. Simply put, I would like to show your son what Heaven is like, no strings attached. And maybe, if he behaves, I might consider rescheduling the exterminations."

"What!? That's fucking bullshit, you can't do that!" Adam cut in from behind us.

Sera quickly raised an arm and summoned a gag around Adam's mouth to stop him from talking.

"So, what do you say, Lucifer?" she said, looking down on us since she's rather tall.

"I don't know, Sera... Lily doesn't like Heaven all too much... not since the Fall."

"I remember clearly what happened that day, and I understand why you don't want to go, but it's just a simple visit. We'll return him tomorrow, and if you still don't trust me... then let's make a deal."

"Oh, a deal, you say?" Lucifer said, a bit surprised.

"Yes. I shall return your son here tomorrow, and if anything were to happen to him, the exterminations will permanently cease, and you shall have my head. Sound fair?"

"Whoa, you're really serious about this... fine. But I'm telling Lily first — she needs to know before we do anything."

"I understand." She stepped aside and opened the door, letting us pass. "I shall visit your home once you have informed the First Lady," she said before closing the door.

Dad let out a deep sigh before looking towards me.

"You know, I haven't been this stressed since Charlie was born... and that was another thing." He opened a portal and walked through.

Once we passed through the portal, we were back inside the castle. We were currently inside Mom and Dad's bedroom, where we immediately saw Mom removing some feathers from her hair.

I looked towards Dad and saw that he was basically panicking internally. I gave him a light tap to try and get his attention, which seemed to calm him down a bit, and with one deep breath, he walked towards Mom.

"Heya, Lily, how ya been?" Dad said, trying to act cool.

Mom turned towards us, and with a smile on her face, walked over and kissed Dad on the lips before looking down at me and kissing me on the cheek.

"So, how did the meeting with Heaven go?"

"It went... really well, and surprisingly, Adam didn't attack me on sight."

"That's good. So, any news regarding the exterminations?"

"Well, there is... but we should probably talk in private," Dad said, placing me down.

"Alright... run along now, dear. Mommy and Daddy need to talk," Mom said, motioning me away.

I walked out of the room before closing the door behind me. I was about to leave until I heard Mom yell from inside.

"WHAT!?" Mom yelled out, her voice so loud that it shattered the windows outside.

I tried to go back inside, but the door was suddenly covered in golden and red runes. I tried everything to get back inside, but all of it was in vain.

After exhausting every possible way to get in, I simply gave up and sat down in front of the door, waiting for the runes to disappear.

I hope they don't take too long.

---

(6 hours later)

Finally, after six hours of waiting, the runes on the door disappeared. I quickly got up to open it, but as soon as I stepped through, I saw Dad covered in bite marks all around his body and Mom smiling.

She quickly noticed me and walked over.

"You behave now, dear. Once the angel comes to pick you up, promise not to cause too much trouble, okay?"

I nodded. She simply smiled and walked back to Dad, grabbing him by the neck, dragging him towards the bed, and throwing him onto it.

"Lock the door on your way out, dear."

I quickly moved out and began closing the door. While I was doing that, I caught a glimpse of Dad's pleading eyes, silently begging me not to leave him.

...

He's got this.

I waved at him before leaving and locking the door. Once I had locked it, I heard Dad scream in a high-pitched tone.

...

Yeah, he's got this.

Walking away, I made my way down towards the castle's main gate and found that Sera was already waiting for me.

"Are you ready to go, young Morningstar?" she asked with a polite smile.

"Yes." I spoke, my voice shocking her a bit.

"Oh my, what a lovely voice you have... it's quite soothing."

Soothing? Are her ears alright?

She began opening a golden portal, and once it was fully opened, we stepped through. A wave of energy enveloped me, and once we were through the portal, I looked around and saw a massive silver gate surrounded by clouds.

She walked ahead, and I followed right behind. After a few seconds of walking, a man wearing a blue vest greeted us.

"Heya, how are you this fine day, Lady Sera?" he said with a big smile on his face.

"I'm doing fine, Saint Peter. I have a guest with me today."

Saint Peter looked behind her and immediately saw me. I gave him a wave, but his mouth was completely agape, just like Sera back at the meeting.

"Saint Peter, would you kindly open the gates?"

This caused him to snap out of his trance and quickly open the gate. The gates of Heaven slowly opened and revealed a shining city made of light.

It was filled with so many angels of different shapes and sizes. Sera walked past the gate before turning back towards me.

"Welcome to the Silver City."
