Chapter 37: The Offer

I wrapped my arms tighter around myself and started walking again, my feet carrying me back toward my small, cold room.
The guards stared at me disgustingly, but I didn't care. It's been two weeks now, or even more; I had stopped counting, and whatever stares they gave weren't my concern anymore.
Right now, I was focused on getting away from Draven, from the overwhelming offer Caspian had given me, and all of that.
When I got there, I closed the door behind me and leaned against it, sliding down until I was sitting on the floor.
I was so exhausted; I had a very long day today, but,
My mind wouldn't stop spinning.
'You have power.'
'I can get you out.'
'Your father experimented on you.'
'Meet me at midnight.'
Too many thoughts. Too many questions. Too many impossible choices.
I pulled my knees up to my chest and rested my head on them, trying to breathe and trying to think.
