And from the heart of that crimson light… came the faint echo of a heartbeats.
Something had awakened.
Something ancient.
Something that called me mother, but i don't understand.

The moment Selene's scream tore through the air, the ground beneath us split with a sound like the sky itself was crying. A flash of white light burst from the Bloodstone Feather, so blinding it felt like it seared straight through my soul. For one endless heartbeat, I couldn't breathe, couldn't see, couldn't even feel the weight of my body.
And then, just as suddenly, the light dimmed.
The Hollow Vale was gone.
I blinked, my vision still swimming and the familiar scent of herbs, smoke and salt hit me. We were back in the apothecary. Or at least, it looked like the apothecary.
But something was wrong. Terribly wrong.
