Seraphina
"Wow!" I breathed out and he nodded.
"Were you two friends?" I asked and he snorted.
"We were best friends." He revealed easily and my mouth fell open, more shock swimming through my insides
When I made to speak again, he waved me off. "Enough about him, let's focus on us." Then his eyes narrowed and he tilted his head sideways.
"You're no longer in love with him, are you?"
That question made me flush, then I spluttered while I vehemently shook my head. "What? Of course not! I'm no longer in love with him!"
He remained silent as he kept regarding me, then he spoke. "Was that why you were at that club two nights ago?" He asked and I glanced away, suddenly feeling exposed.
When I didn't respond, he sighed and leaned back again. "So, I think I've come to a decision," he announced and I was instantly back to looking at him, my heart stuck in my throat as I waited with bated breath.
"I've decided that I'll accept your proposal." He revealed and I almost screamed from an onslaught of relief that filled up my entire insides right now.
"Really?!" I cried out, unable to contain my joy and he hummed while nodding, and I had to fight myself from rising up to go embrace him right now.
"I have a few nonnegotiable rules though, and I guess I should have listed them first before agreeing," he announced and I instantly tensed up.
"Whatever your rules are, I'm sure I'd be able to cope," I muttered and a grin tugged at the sides of his lips a little, making me grow more flushed.
"Rule number one; you'll warm my bed until the contract is up." He revealed and I choked on thin air.
My mouth opened and closed with no sound coming out, then he added. "Remember that it's nonnegotiable."
I felt like I was about to faint. My heart was pounding hard but I still managed to nod faintly while looking at him, then I quickly schooled my expression and tried to appear unbothered and like my heartbeat wasn't all over the place right now.
"Why though?" I blurted because I had honestly feared that the night had been mediocre for him and he wouldn't want a repeat.
"My reasons are for me and me alone." He drawled smoothly, eyes still holding mine.
Bastard. I cursed underneath my breath, then I exhaled while nodding.
"That's- that's fine by me. I don't mind. It's just sex after all."
He kept staring at me silently after that and I squirmed around a little, feeling flustered as hell, and like he could read my mind as well.
"Good," he finally gruffed and that sound made my stomach flip around dangerously.
I cleared my throat, determined to return back to the topic at hand.
"What are your other rules?" I asked this time.
"Two: you can't fall in love with me, and three, after the marriage is over, and three, you'll walk away without any drama or resistance, then I'll be able to marry who I'm actually in love with." He listed the other two rules and I almost bursted into laughter.
"Mr. Hemsworth, what makes you think I'd ever fall in love with you?" I asked, still feeling this urge to burst into laughter.
"Cause everyone falls in love with me." He responded smoothly, his eyes holding mine and I laughed a little.
"That's quite obnoxious of you." I pointed out while he rolled his eyes and leaned forward.
"It's the truth. Everyone just can't help themselves around me." He pointed out, not even sounding like he was bragging but like he was stating something obvious, and as I stared at him right now, I guess it wouldn't take some people much to fall in love with him since he looked like a literal Greek god.
"Well, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to me, Mr. Hemsworth. I'd never fall in love with you."
He arched a brow at me as he responded. "That's what everyone says first,"
I scoffed, wondering if he was teasing this time.
"I assure you, Mr. Hemsworth. I have no heart anymore after experiencing betrayal back to back. I won't fall in love with you no matter what." I pointed out. "Infact, I assure you that it can't ever happen. This is just a contract marriage which we'd both benefit from before parting ways, feelings wouldn't be involved at all." I spoke in a firm voice while still holding his eyes.
"And I'll leave the marriage willingly once the one year is up." I added almost immediately.
"Alright." He finally breathed out and I heaved in relief again.
"So, does this mean you'd like to finally make a break out into social media? With credits for your work this time?" He asked before leaning forward to reach for his phone, eyes locked with mine and I bit on my bottom lip as I nodded.
"I- yeah, I'd like that." I responded, my throat feeling tight. That felt daunting, cause I've never been in the spotlight before, but I was ready to finally be recognized for my accomplishments, and for the genius that I am.
"Alright. I'm a very fair person despite what anyone might think. Since you'll help Zen rise to no.1, you'll get to take all the credits under my company." He revealed and my heart soared.
"We're also gonna make our marriage public. Not just public, it's gonna be a very big deal on the internet because I'd also be revealing my position in Zen as the owner. I know the Internet has been dying to know for ages, and I've been planning towards doing that, so this looks like the perfect opportunity to do that." He revealed and my breath caught in my thrust a little from nerves.
All of this felt scary, the fact that I was just about to become an internet sensation. I felt nervous above all other emotions running through me right now, cause I knew that I was gonna attract a lot of scrutiny. I didn't look 'normal' after all, and a lot of people are gonna mock me for how I look. But I refuse to dwell on any of that right now when I can do that later.
"That sounds good," I finally breathed out and he hummed while nodding.
"So, we'll be officially married in a few days." He pointed out and I nodded, feeling breathless all over again.
"Y- yeah, that's right." I echoed, my stomach clenching.
"Then you'll become my wife." He drawled as he smoothly got to his feet and my cheeks flushed as I got to my feet as well, our eyes still locked. I was back to staring up at him cause he was back to towering over me.
"And you, my husband." I mumbled, my cheeks growing hot. Slowly, a grin stretched out across his face as he mused.
"I like that."
My cheeks darkened and I quickly looked away, and that was when I noticed that the restaurant was still looking as empty as it did at the beginning of our meeting, just as he continued.
"I'll send my driver to accompany you home and bring you over to mine along with your belongings tonight." He revealed and I stiffened, heart pounding hard once again.
"I'd actually like the contracts to be signed first before I do that." I pointed out carefully but firmly.
I was determined to not make any mistakes this time since I was no longer stupid. Alec is a literal stranger and I didn't trust him. A contract must be signed first before anything officially begins.
Alec nodded easily. "Fair enough,"
After that, he pocketed his phone and I gathered my stuff together as well.
"I have one more question." He pointed out as he came to stand right in front of me, trapping me between himself and the table even though we weren't touching. My heartbeat instantly began to pound.
"When you said your family cut you off, I assume you're also lacking in money presently, yes?" he asked and my entire face burned from shame.
I instantly wanted to deny that, but I didn't have up to a hundred dollars in my account right now, and so I swallowed my shame as I nodded jerkily. He didn't laugh, he just nodded once.
"I'll arrange for some money to be wired to you after the contract is signed then." He revealed and my mouth fell open from shock.
"What?" I echoed, feeling utterly shocked.
"That's right. If I hire a game developer, they'd get paid anyway, so the money isn't that big a deal." He pointed out but I felt otherwise. He didn't have to give me any money, at least not when I'm yet to take his company to the top.
"But… I don't know…" I breathed out, feeling conflicted, and not because I was trying to be modest or feeling too arrogant, but I wouldn't like a situation where that same money would be held against me in the future.
After seeing how cruel my husband and family got with me; I'm not prepared to expect the worst from anyone.
"Can I use most of the money you'd be assigning to me to purchase shares in your company?" I asked in the next moment. That was way better than me completely declining it like a fool.
He nodded without hesitation. "Of course,"
After that, he suddenly reached forward and grasped my chin, making me let out a startled gasp which got caught in my throat just as he stepped closer till I could almost feel his body heat against mine. It was such an unexpected move, that my mind was yet to fully register with it.
His eyes were pinned on my throat, and his hand moved down, then his thumb was ghosting over one of the marks he left on my neck that was yet to fade, which I covered with makeup, but I guess I didn't do a good job.
"Remember when I placed this hickey here?" He suddenly asks in a husky voice and my brain short circuited, while all my plans to demand that he step back, fell away.
As his thumb dragged over the mark, I shivered while biting on my bottom lip and trying not to moan. His eyes bored into mine, making my knees grow weak as he continued without me responding.
"It was when I had you bent over the counter in that hotel, and I was thrusting into you from behind."
"I had a hand firmly around your throat because I quickly figured you liked that, and you were clenching tightly around my cock, like you wanted to drag my soul out from me. It was in that process that I leaned over and sucked…"
He was still speaking, each word sending a wave of heat mixed with embarrassment over me, then I cut him off before my hot cheeks melted off. "Stop talking, please." I whispered weakly, my gaze averted.
His lips twitched as he grasped my chin and turned it upwards again so that our eyes locked again. "Since you're asking so cutely, little wife."
My cheeks flushed again while my heart pounded hard. "W- we aren't even married yet." I pointed out weakly, but he ignored me and smoothly stepped away, and I was finally able to breathe properly again.
"I'll head out now." He pointed out and I nodded, biting my bottom lip and trying not to think about what just went down between us right now, but it was hard not to when I could feel my skin still tingle.
"Okay. Have a great day at work." I breathed out and he flashed me a bright grin that blinded me for a moment from how pretty it was and how it completely transformed his face.
"Oh, I will. Have a great day as well, and think of your husband-to-be while at it."
He turned away after that and I was left feeling flustered and baffled as he walked off without glancing back.
