Cyrus spent the whole day with me researching and, of course, packing. I didn't get him sometimes — no, I don't get him at all. When I think I do, he does something that shows me I don't.
For example, I know he knows who the people in the picture are after he was the one that sent it to me he didn't confirm that suspicion, but I know he was the one.
Since he knows why not save us the stress and just tell me why does he have to go through with it with me instead of just telling me.
"You know for someone with a company like yours you are awfully free" I said we were currently packing he was I'm charge of arranging the things in the box and I supervised telling him what to take and what not to take.
My words made him turn to me. "Well, I still have things to do when I'm done with that. I'll resume fully on Monday," he replied casually
"Why? are you so eager to chase me, and here I thought you were enjoying my company? " he said, faking a hurtful expression. I just rolled my eyes at him, saying nothing.
"When are we going to get our license?" I asked after a while.
"We have to wait for three days, so probably next tomorrow, they are not going to be around then, so on Monday," he replied after thinking for a while.
"Isn't that when you are going to resume work?" If he was going to work, then how... Well, I could just go take them myself so...
"I think I can spare my soon to be wife a few minutes of my time," he replied.
Soon to be wife, huh?
"What about the witness?"
"One is going to be my best friend. The other is... my mom"
I dropped what I was holding in my hands at his words. Did he just say what I heard him say?
"What?"
To say I was beyond dumbfounded would be an understatement. For some reason, Cyrus started laughing, and I didn't know why.
"What's so funny?" I asked, frowning.
"I–I'm sorry, it's just your face it's so..." he said admist his laughter.
"Cyrus, please be serious," I said
It seemed like he knew I was serious cause he stopped laughing.
I took in a deep breath.
"Why is your Mom our other witness Cyrus?" he didn't say anything for a while.
"I didn't think she would end up being one of our witness either, but she was the only available option," he replied
"Does she... Does she know about our contract?"
"No, I didn't tell her that I just told her you didn't want an extravagant wedding. You just wanted everything to be simple."
I didn't know what to say at that well. At least she didn't know about the contract. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
But still... Well, that was the only option we had, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.
It's not like I had a better option.
"She said we would still have a proper marriage, but that will be when you are okay with it," he added, making me sigh.
Great...
