Chapter 133 - Chapter 132: Blood Clan Half-Blood

Seeing that Song Jie agreed, Lingling had no objections. She stood up and said, "Since Song Jie has agreed, you'll act with us tonight!"

"Tonight?" Mo Fan was a little surprised. He hadn't expected to be on a mission so soon after joining.

Still, he didn't complain — being accepted into the team was already a good start.

"You should go back and prepare. We'll meet at the Masterpiece Private Garden this evening," Lingling said calmly.

Mo Fan nodded.

Old Bao warned, "This commission is a bit strange. Be careful. It's fine to withdraw if things get too dangerous."

The three nodded.

In a club somewhere in the Magic City, a mixed-blood girl in a short skirt sat quietly at the bar.

"Why are you here?" the middle-aged man beside her asked.

"Have you finished investigating that matter?" the mixed-blood beauty asked in a low voice.

The man shook his head. "No clues yet. They're cunning — we can't even find their hideout."

"If those demons continue infecting humans, we'll be affected too," the woman said seriously.

"I know. If this keeps up, we'll have to report it to the Hunter Union. It's their responsibility, after all."

The man emptied his glass, visibly troubled. Vampires despised working with hunters — yet the demons they spoke of also survived by drinking blood, hiding within human bodies.

That was the real problem. One could never tell if they were drinking from a human... or a possessed demon.

A similar incident had already happened within their vampire clan once. Luckily, it was discovered early enough to prevent disaster.

Now, they hated these parasitic demons more than anything. If possible, they would have exterminated every last one.

"I encountered two of them before," the mixed-blood woman said. "I've already found their address."

"Where?"

"Masterpiece Private Garden."

"Isn't that where you live?"

As night fell, Song Jie and the others were already on the rooftop of a building opposite the Masterpiece Private Garden.

Lingling was typing rapidly on her laptop. The screen displayed a full surveillance feed of the family living inside.

"Wow, girl, you're good! You actually have tech like this?" Mo Fan said admiringly.

Lingling ignored him and focused on the screen. Suddenly, she switched it off — only the sound of running water came from the speakers.

"Hey, why'd you turn it off? As hunters, shouldn't we observe every detail?" Mo Fan complained.

"Pervert," Lingling muttered, rolling her eyes. She knew exactly what he was thinking.

Meanwhile, Song Jie was enjoying the night breeze, feeling calm and in control.

His gaze swept across the nearby rooftops — that's when he spotted a man and a woman on the building below them, watching the same target.

Thanks to his Contract Plunder ability, Song Jie had inherited the Little Black Cat's night vision. He squinted and recognized the girl's face — she looked familiar.

After thinking for a moment, he realized she was one of the campus beauties he'd seen earlier that day.

She was that mixed-blood girl...

Why is she here? Song Jie wondered, noticing that their attention was fixed on the same target.

"Is there some connection?" he speculated silently.

Lingling's voice suddenly came through his earpiece. "Song Jie, get over here — major discovery!"

Downstairs, the middle-aged man and the mixed-blood woman were speaking quietly.

"Is that the house?" the man asked.

"Yes," she confirmed.

"Should we handle it ourselves, or let the Hunter Union take over?"

"This matter isn't simple," the man sighed. "Let the hunters deal with it."

Just then, both of them turned their heads. A dark shadow slid down the side of the building.

The man frowned. "Shadow Element magic?"

"It seems the hunters have already moved in," the woman said calmly.

"Then it's out of our hands. Let them handle it," the man said with relief.

The mixed-blood woman nodded in agreement.

On the rooftop above, Song Jie was still observing their movements. After a quick discussion, the three hunters decided Mo Fan would infiltrate first while Song Jie provided backup.

However, Song Jie couldn't shake the feeling that those two people below were connected to the mission somehow.

"Little Black, follow them," Song Jie ordered.

"Meow~" The Little Black Cat nodded knowingly and disappeared into the shadows.

Moments later, Lingling's voice came through again. "Song Jie, hurry! There's another situation!"

Song Jie walked over and looked at her screen.

"That man's shedding his skin," Lingling explained. "He's targeting the child in the room — check it out!"

"Leave it to me."

With that, Song Jie summoned his Wind Riding Sky Eagle and leaped onto its back. The giant bird spread its wings, soaring straight toward the target's apartment.

"Radiance!" he shouted, hurling a beam of light at the window.

Bang!

The glass shattered as the holy light burst through. Song Jie vaulted inside, dismissed the eagle, and charged toward the room.

He kicked open the door — the man inside had already shed half of his skin.

"Radiance!"

"Purification!"

A streak of golden light flashed across the room. The man screamed in agony as the demonic scales burned away, leaving him trembling and half-human once more.

Song Jie pressed his earpiece. "Lingling, it's handled."

"Got it! I'll head over now," Lingling replied, packing up her computer. She turned to Mo Fan. "Act according to the situation, and don't be impulsive!"

"Lingling, that demon just ran off — I lost her!" Mo Fan's voice came through urgently.

"She ran away?" Lingling frowned, thinking quickly as she hurried to Song Jie's position.

"Song Jie, the female demon might be heading your way!" she warned.

Song Jie turned toward the shattered window — and there she was, the skin-shedding female demon, glaring back at him.

"She's here," he reported. But the demon suddenly spun around and fled.

Why did she run?

Then he realized — she must have sensed his Light Element magic.

Song Jie dashed to the window, but by the time he looked outside, she was gone.

"Lingling, she escaped."

"It's fine. She can't get far," Lingling replied confidently.

Moments later, she and Mo Fan arrived at the scene.

"I've already called an ambulance," Mo Fan said. "They'll be here soon."

Lingling nodded and examined the bloody, discarded skin left behind in the bedroom.

Just then, Song Jie noticed Little Black had returned, its fur faintly bristling with unease…
