Chapter 3 - 3.

Erza, however, didn't want such a hassle.

She pointed at several women and instructed, "I can deal with these bandits in an instant, but the problem is that my attack range is too wide, and I could easily injure those girls.

"I need you to protect them while I use my magic."

A wide range?

Aux looked at the Heaven's Wheel Armor on her, guessing which move she intended to use.

"My magic is Addition Magic; I can't protect those girls," Aux explained.

Erza's eyes filled with confusion.

A single move that turned a three-story building to ashes, and he was calling it Addition Magic?

Aux cheerfully suggested, "I recommend you don't use area attacks. One sword is enough, and I can add speed to it."

Erza frowned, conflicted.

Even if her speed increased, taking down dozens of bandits in an instant was impossible… right?

Unless the speed boost allowed her to swing dozens of times within two or three seconds.

But that was impossible.

Erza subtly reminded him, "Bandits have no conscience; they'll kill unarmed civilians without hesitation. Unless I can swing dozens of times in a few seconds, they will absolutely kill those girls."

She thought explaining it this clearly would make Aux realize the danger of the situation.

To her surprise, Aux pondered for two seconds and nodded.

"With your magic power and physical strength, you should be able to increase your speed enough to deliver more than ten strikes per second."

What???

Erza's expression was full of disbelief.

Was he really capable of making her that fast? This lie was simply too outrageous to believe.

Erza asked again, "You're not joking?"

Aux firmly replied, "Of course. I'd hate to see girls die in front of me."

At this point, Erza felt she should trust him—just as she trusted her guild companions.

She wasn't the type to hesitate. Once she made her decision, she immediately dispelled her re-equip, switching back into her usual armor.

Summoning a sharpened knight's sword into her hands, she gripped the hilt and looked at Aux with a heroic spirit.

"Addition: Gale Force!"

Aux stepped back two paces, creating distance. Gripping his staff, he activated Addition Magic and lightly tapped Erza.

Ding! Detected the use of Addition Magic.

Infinite Addition boosted to: Gale Force Lv. MAX.

The Infinite Addition system amplified it instantly.

Erza felt her body lighten. She tried raising her arm—only to find that the moment she thought of moving it, it had already moved.

"So fast… with this speed, I can definitely deal with the bandits—" Erza began.

But her speaking speed was even more astonishing. Her lips barely moved, yet the sentence came out instantly.

Aux reminded her, "Your body and mind are almost in sync now. This should be enough."

He had used Addition Magic on commoners before, but never on a Mage. Now he was eager to see the results.

Erza gave a quick nod—so fast it was almost invisible—and focused her gaze on the bandits in the clearing. She planned her attack route carefully.

"Let's go!"

By the time Aux fully heard the two words, Erza's figure was already gone.

Looking toward the open ground, he saw—

Erza, still in her forward-charging posture, had already passed the bandits.

Did she fail?

Just as the thought formed—

Blood suddenly spurted from dozens of bodies, and every bandit collapsed unconscious.

She had cut down every one of them.

"In less than a second… I didn't expect a Mage could be enhanced this much."

Aux walked forward, stroking his chin. He examined the fallen bandits and found at least two sword wounds on each.

"Very fast," Erza replied.

Her speaking speed had returned to normal, which made Aux raise an eyebrow.

Applying Addition to a Mage was far more effective than he expected—but the duration seemed short.

He made a mental note to improve his timing in the future.

"Wuwuwu…" "Yingyingying…"

With the bandits defeated, Aux and Erza approached the bound women.

They were struggling—whether out of fear or gratitude was unclear.

Swish, swish!

Erza sliced through the ropes with two swift strikes.

"Thank you! Thank you, great Mages!"

"If it weren't for you two, we can't imagine what would have happened!"

"Thank you! Our families will definitely thank you!"

The women all expressed their gratitude.

Aux secretly hoped they would give him some money as thanks so he could continue traveling.

"Why don't you come back to town with us? We'll notify the Soldiers to arrest these bandits," Erza said.

The women nodded happily.

They retied the severed ropes to restrain the unconscious bandits and began the walk back to town.

"Great Mage, I'm hosting a banquet at my house tonight to thank you. Will you come?"

"Handsome man, come home with me! I want to learn magic too."

"Great Mage, my father is forcing me to marry. Can you pretend to be my boyfriend?"

"Handsome man, my kitten can do a backflip."

"…"

The journey back was both painful and chaotic for Aux.

The girls were young, beautiful, with excellent figures—some even nobles. They surrounded Aux, talking nonstop. A few boldly wrapped their arms around him, rubbing against him. Others invited him for tea in high-pitched voices.

Aux felt dizzy. All of them were targeting him.

Having lived two lives, he was extremely socially anxious. Facing a crowd of lively girls, he felt overwhelmed and wanted to faint.

He immediately regretted saving them.

"Aux, your purple hair and golden eyes naturally make you more attractive than most men. Once you join a Mage Guild, you'll probably become the most desired male Mage in the newspapers," Erza teased.

Aux rolled his eyes and continued dealing with the girls clinging to him.

When they reached the town, Erza and Aux reported to the Soldiers. Soon, families who had lost daughters came to retrieve them.

Before leaving, the rescued girls eagerly re-invited Aux, clearly more interested in his appearance than anything else.

Erza laughed. "Rest here tonight. Meet me at the station tomorrow morning. Take care of yourself!"

With that, she left to find lodging.

Leaving Aux to decide which girl's house to spend the night at.

"No money for food…" Aux patted his pockets. Not a single coin. "Looks like I'll have to visit a girl's house for a free meal."

He didn't plan to sleep with anyone—but since they hadn't rewarded him properly, he might as well go door-to-door to ask for money.
