James waited and waited, but the bipedal beings never truly let go of walking on all fours in the situations where speed was of the essence. This made it such that they still remained lesser primates, never evolving much further.
It took him a long time to understand that due to the fact that the plants on the surface grew much shorter than those on his planet, the creatures never actually needed to reach upwards too much, reducing the need to remain bipedal at all times.
He had a single interference opportunity left, and after thinking for a bit, he decided to give his species a push to becoming the Jerry he had planned. He used his opportunity to both get rid of all the hair from the creatures and make them upright in a natural position.
Unfortunately, some areas still retained hair, and he simply could not bother with this, since his first focus for this chance was the upright position. Still, the hair on their head had vanished, as they did not need it since the sun could not harm, only help them grow. On the other hand, the hair in their armpits and groin remained, almost like normal humans from Earth. A little different, but close enough.
[All intervention chances for the evolution have been concluded. This race shall now be considered the race you names 'Jerry'. Future evolution shall happen naturally, and will also be considered part of your Jerry Race.]
[Energy gained from the death of your race has now been named Collective Energy]
[You may use Collective Energy to converse with individuals of your race]
[You may use Collective Energy to speed up the birthing process within your race]
James looked at these messages in joy as until now, the energy only had the ability to converse. Now, it had another rather useful ability.
Immediately, he checked how much energy he had exactly, and how much it would take to speed up the birthing process, or converse with individuals.
[Collective Energy: 12,000]
[Cost to converse with regular individual: 20]
[Cost to improve birth rate within entire race for 1 year (race): 2000]
Seeing this situation, James immediately utilised the 1 year birth-rate improvement, to increase the reproductivity of his race, before sitting back and waiting. Unlike a World God who had to constantly manage their world in with their vast abilities, Race Spirits did not actually have much of an active role in their races.
It was closer to being a hand over the shoulder of the race as a whole, supporting them with information and the likes whenever need be, and using their talents whenever necessary.
…
Meanwhile, on another planet entirely, another spirit watched his race in silence.
He watched as the race he had evolved was made-up of black lizard-like creatures with incredibly tough skin and bodies. And unlike James, he had already spent all his intervention chances quite a few years ago in the planet's time.
He had chosen to select a world with a World God, and due to this, he had been able to use his seed of life on an existing species, to convert them into his race. This World God had been able to create a rather diverse set of life-forms within just 10 years of the god-space.
Thus, this race spirit had used his five free intervention chances in order to improve the physical abilities, intelligence, and reproductive abilities of his species multiple times over. Then, as his species began to multiple over the years, he was greatly satisfied with the amount of Collective Energy he had gradually collected over the years.
He glanced at his talent with satisfaction…
[Talent: Manifest (Superior)]
[Manifest a Self in the mortal world to interact/fight utilising Collective Energy. Strength of Manifested Self will depend on the talents of the current race, and the amount of Collective Energy utilised]
He had realised that he would need to help his race battle it out with the World God of this world. As such, had planned to use his talent as a final trump card against the battle for his race's freedom from the control and suppression of the World God as soon as the Grace Period ended.
'The Grace Period now only had a single century in the god space left. That is only about 1000 years in the planet's time. I need to speed things up. And the fastest way to do that is technology. Spending a few Collective points to give knowledge about technologies to speed up civilisation would be more effective that holding onto them for the final trump card. I need a stable base of civilisation in order for the trump card to be used as such, and not just the only means of attack and defence I have,' the race spirit mused as he waves his non-existent hand to begin his plan.
And at the end of every message of information he sent to each of hi species, he added one simple message, 'By will of Night Sky.'
…
James looked at his race of Jerries, before finally deciding to send a message once enough centuries had passed. He had gained enough talents for them every 100 years in the planet's time, which was way faster than other planets with World Gods. He had also observed as the features of his race changed with time.
Their jaws recessed into their skulls much like modern humans, and their toes all aligned without opposable toe-thumbs. However, unlike modern humans on Earth, these Jerries had a few differences. Due to the lack of negative effects from the UV rays and other radiation levels from the sun, these Jerries had little to no melanin; the pigment responsible for protecting the skin of humans from the sun. This resulted in the Jerries being extremely pale-skinned, almost looking sick to normal humans.
Furthermore, their bald heads and nearly hair-less bodies, were further made odd due to the fact that their hands had grown far longer than before, almost reaching halfway between their knees and their feet, and their fingers were elongated in horrifying crescent shapes.
'What have I created…' James looked in fascinated horror at the horrible Jerries he had ended up creating, 'They look like Dracula… but don't drink blood, and instead drink the energy of the sun…'
