"Big enough? This is the largest room in the base. Test subjects fight here to judge combat viability," Ashura Kabuto said, almost cheerfully.
His gaze swept over the two humans—
One bald guy in yellow spandex with a vacant look—and another… huh? A guy whose face read "I'm an extra"?
His eyes paused briefly on Lin Mo, then auto-sorted him into the "irrelevant trash mob" bin.
"So… which of you wants to die first? Or both together to save me time?" Contempt dripped from him.
A pillar of flame roared from the left, the heat reddening the floor.
But Ashura's reaction was astounding.
His massive body slid back in a nimble step, and the flame thundered past.
"Mr. KING, Teacher Saitama—please allow me to fight him."
Genos shot into the air. His metal right fist, like a small meteor, hammered down toward Ashura Kabuto's crown!
Saitama sighed. "Hey, I never agreed to be your teacher."
"Too slow."
Ashura Kabuto merely raised his head, a sneer of pure disdain on his face.
An instant before the blow landed—he vanished.
"Machine-Gun Blows."
Whiffed, Genos didn't relent.
Boosters screamed. A storm of fists filled the air, pounding over Ashura Kabuto's body like a downpour.
He didn't even bother to dodge. The punches rang "clang-clang-clang" against his brown armor.
He ate it all, then casually swung.
Genos's pupils shrank. He only managed to cross his arms as the force smashed him.
He pinballed through the room, plowing a wall down with a boom.
"Damn. Careless."
He hauled himself up from rubble, parts more ragged, left arm plating torn off and sparking dangerously.
No hesitation—he pooled all power in both hands. "Max Output—Incineration Cannon!"
A beam many times thicker blasted out, annihilation incarnate.
Ashura Kabuto didn't dodge. He sucked in a titanic breath, chest ballooning. Then blew.
"Blown back? Impossible…" Genos stared.
The unstoppable flame-serpent shredded like bubbles in the gust—and then reversed, swallowing the shooter himself.
Genos—defeated.
At the entrance, Dr. Genus watched, smug. "The most terrifying demon the House of Evolution has made. As humans, you can't beat it…"
"Dr. Genus—is that what I should call you?"
Lin Mo walked over. The moment the fight started, he slipped out, afraid of strays.
"Good thing Ashura Kabuto didn't care… guess he thinks we're already dead meat…"
He thanked his luck, unaware he'd been labeled "trash mob."
"KING!? Why are you here?" Genus gaped.
Shouldn't he be dueling Ashura Kabuto? And how did he know my name? I never showed my face to them.
"Watch. That bug isn't beating Saitama." Lin Mo ignored Genus's whys and said it with confidence.
He couldn't admit he'd run out of fear. He'd watched Genus hobble in, after all…

Saitama stopped spectating. He rolled his wrists as he walked toward the preening Ashura Kabuto. "Those moves are making my hands itch."
"Don't disappoint me. You're the final weapon here, right? Not like the chumps this morning."
"I can tell—you're strong," Ashura Kabuto said, smirking.
He flash-stepped behind Saitama. Veins bulged in his right arm as he raised it high to smash—
But at the moment of the strike, his face twisted from arrogance to terror, as if seeing the scariest thing in the world.
He froze his attack. His wings snapped open with a buzz, and he rocketed backward to perch on the wall.
"If I'd swung… I'd be dead!" he thought, horrified.
"What? Ashura Kabuto… retreated?" Everyone but Lin Mo gaped.
"You… what are you… what are you? How are you this strong?!" His voice quavered.
"You all want to know?" Saitama grew solemn. "Genos, listen up."
Genos tried to stop him. "Sensei, we can't reveal something this important in front of the enemy—"
"One hundred push-ups, one hundred sit-ups, one hundred squats, and a ten-kilometer run. Every day!" Saitama said blandly. "The key is to stick with it."
Silence fell like a curtain.
Seconds later, Genos protested first. "Please don't joke. That's normal training—hardly intense!"
"Don't want to say? Fine. No way you'd just tell us," Ashura Kabuto scoffed.
Anger at being belittled and humiliation at being cowed fused and detonated.
His body swelled. Muscles exploded outward. Brown skin purpled ominously.
Eerie green lines crawled across him; his horn lengthened, more grotesque.
A storm of power, far beyond before, swept the room.
"Ashura Mode!!"
[From Ashura Kabuto: anger. Energy Points +500!]
From afar, Lin Mo judged the moment ripe—the Emotion Points about farmed up—and shouted:
"Hey, Saitama—Saturday. Supermarket sale! Hotpot tonight!"
Saitama's eternal deadpan cracked. Panic flashed.
"Why didn't you say so earlier! I thought it was tomorrow!"
He punched.
Boom!!
In "Ashura Mode," the so-called destroyer of all was reduced to scraps by the Supermarket Sale Punch.
Saitama didn't even look at the result. He grabbed Lin Mo by the collar and bolted.
"Move! If we're late, the beef'll be gone!"
