Chapter 6 - Discussion After Martial Soul Awakening

In fact, when Obkin saw the seven Soul Rings surrounding Flander, he was completely stunned. But the moment he realized this concerned his own sons' future, he quickly snapped back to his senses.

Since his elder brother was a Soul Master — though merely one of the lowest, livelihood-type Soul Masters — he had at least attended a Soul Master Academy once and thus understood something about that world.Naturally, he knew just how rare a seven-ring Soul Sage was.He didn't know exactly how powerful such a being was,but so what? When a great figure like that personally said his two foolish sons had good talent and were willing to take them into his academy to be taught —

Such an opportunity, even if the Soul Sage wasn't waiving tuition, he would sell everything he owned to make sure his sons went to school! This was about his children's future — he absolutely couldn't waste their talent.

He exchanged a glance with his elder brother. Without even asking for his sons' or wife's opinion, he immediately showed the authority of the family head and agreed on the spot.

Seeing the matter settled, Flander retracted his Martial Soul, once again putting on a "warm" smile. He patted Aos Qin and Oscar affectionately on the shoulders."You're the older brother, Oscar; and you're the younger one, Aos Qin, right? From now on, I'll be your dean."

Then he brushed his right hand across his left wrist and took out a book, handing it to Oscar."I heard from the village chief that you both can read, so take a good look at this book.

It's a meditation method for cultivating Soul Power, summarized by a friend of mine. It's more effective than ordinary methods — make sure you learn it well.

Although your current Soul Power has reached the limit before obtaining your first Soul Ring, the Soul Power you gain through continued meditation won't vanish.

It will accumulate, and when you obtain your first Soul Ring, it will be revealed all at once."

Flander then lifted his head toward Obkin and said,"You're their father, right? The Academy is still on break, so it's not convenient for the two kids to come right now.

In a month, have them come to Soto City and find me at a shop on Commercial Street marked with a Soul Master's insignia — a crossed sword and hammer. I'll then take them to the Academy.

You can spend this month preparing daily necessities and supervising them to learn the contents of the book. It's simple, with both pictures and text."

Turning to Aubert, he said, "I can see you're also a Soul Master. You can study it as well. If the kids can't understand something, explain it to them."

Aubert, realizing that the Soul Sage was deliberately helping him, immediately expressed his gratitude and promised to make sure the boys practiced diligently.Obkin also vowed to supervise Oscar and Aos Qin closely to ensure they worked hard.

With the formalities done, Obkin invited Flander to his home for a meal as thanks.

However, Flander declined, citing other matters, nodded politely to the village chief, and then disappeared swiftly, using his Soul Power.

It wasn't an excuse — he really did have business to attend to.

Though a Soul Sage, Flander had refused to serve any noble families, and coupled with his chronically poor luck and the expenses of running an academy, he was actually quite poor.

Every year during the Martial Soul Awakening season, he would accept paid tasks from the Spirit Hall to perform awakenings.Of course, he also hoped to recruit some talented commoner students for his academy.

But Soul Masters born among commoners were already rare — geniuses even more so.Over the years, he hadn't found many suitable disciples.

But this year, he'd discovered two at once."Could it be that my luck is finally turning?" he thought, and his steps became much lighter.

Meanwhile, after Flander left, everyone else exited the Spirit Hall as well.

The crowd outside had dispersed. The village chief congratulated Obkin's family and, seeing that they were eager to go home and celebrate, took his leave.

Watching their father and uncle still laughing foolishly, Aos Qin gave Oscar a knowing glance. Oscar immediately understood and helped drag the two adults home.

Their mother was still waiting for news — how could they delay sharing such joy?

The four of them quickened their pace and returned home. As soon as they entered, Yun Shuangshuang came rushing out.

Learning that both of her sons had Soul Power — and were the kind of geniuses who could become Soul Masters after just one Soul Ring — she was overjoyed.

As for her husband's words about a Soul Sage personally accepting their children into an academy, that didn't particularly move her. What made her more emotional was the thought that Oscar and Aos Qin would be leaving for the Academy in a month. Though the distance wasn't too far, they wouldn't be able to return home often — and that saddened her deeply.

But right now, the priority was celebrating — everything else could wait.

Since it wasn't yet lunchtime, the family decided to sit and watch Oscar and Aos Qin demonstrate their Martial Souls.

Just as well, Aos Qin wanted to test the consumption rate of his Martial Soul. He summoned his Martial Soul and began infusing it with Soul Power — soon, four hamburgers appeared.

Because there were no Soul Skills yet, he didn't need to chant an incantation typical of Food-type Soul Masters — he only needed to channel his Soul Power.

Looking at the simple hamburger — a soft bun split in half with a piece of meat patty inside — Aos Qin wasn't disappointed. He knew this would improve once he obtained Soul Skills.

Most importantly, the Soul Power consumption was indeed low. Based on the four hamburgers he'd made just now, even without a Soul Ring, he could probably produce around five hundred hamburgers if he used up all his Soul Power.

That realization sparked a thought in his mind: At least I'll never starve to death in the future.

Obkin and Yun Shuangshuang were a bit emotional as they looked at the hamburgers in their hands. Both of them possessed Food-type Martial Souls too, but since they had no Soul Power, they had never eaten food produced by their own Martial Souls. Now, they were tasting food made by their son's Soul Power — even though it looked simple and far less refined than the hamburgers sold in Soto City, it felt incredibly delicious.

For a while, no one spoke — they just ate silently. Aos Qin conjured another hamburger for himself.

The burger was still steaming hot in his hands, its wheat aroma blending with the rich scent of grilled meat.

He took a bite instinctively — the bun was soft and fluffy, full of grain fragrance, and the patty, likely pork, was juicy and tender with a hint of black pepper.

"Delicious," was Aos Qin's first thought.

His second thought: This Martial Soul must be a mutation combining my father's and mother's. Its quality should be excellent among Food-type souls — even without Yunhai Jue, it should still generate Soul Power.

The burger wasn't large, so everyone finished quickly. After confirming how good it tasted, they all turned their attention to Oscar.

Without hesitation, Oscar summoned his Martial Soul and infused it with Soul Power — five sausages appeared. It took him a bit longer than Aos Qin, since he wasn't yet skilled at channeling his Soul Power.

The sausages were warm to the touch, yet didn't leave any oil stains — after all, they were condensed by Soul Power.

By sight, each sausage was about fifteen to sixteen centimeters long and two fingers thick. When he bit into one, the juices burst out — not minced meat texture, but actual chunks of meat.

Truth be told, Aos Qin preferred this texture when eating meat. The flavor, he thought, was comparable to the grilled sausages from his previous life in Huaxia — the fifteen-yuan ones from Song's famous stall. In short, delicious.

After savoring it, Aos Qin called out to Yun Shuangshuang, who was about to head to the kitchen, saying he had something to discuss.

Since Aos Qin had always been intelligent and decisive, everyone grew curious about what he wanted to say.

"Father, Mother, Uncle — here's what I'm thinking. Should we rent or buy a shop-residence in Soto City and all move there together?

First, since Oscar and I will start attending the Academy next month, technically we won't be able to come home except during holidays. But from what the Dean said, the Academy isn't far from Soto City. If we lived there, we could come home for dinner and sleep, then run to the Academy in the morning for exercise — just as training.

But that's secondary. The main reason is this: Oscar and I can already start earning money for the family.

The Dean waived our first-year tuition, but we'll still need to pay in later years. And cultivation costs money too — our current savings might be too tight.

You've all tasted the food created by our Martial Souls — the flavor's excellent. If we sold it, it would definitely be popular. Once we gain Soul Skills, business would only grow better.

My hamburgers can last a whole day without spoiling; Oscar's sausages should be the same.We could conjure enough at night, then just reheat them on the stove the next morning before selling.

At the same time, I can keep supplying refined metals to Uncle — the demand for high-quality weapons in Soto City is huge. We've finally built a good reputation; we can't just give that up."

The idea came so suddenly that Obkin, Yun Shuangshuang, and Aubert all fell into deep thought after hearing Aos Qin's words.
