Cherreads

Chapter 8 - Secrets Revealed & Plans Set

Jade didn't expect to be 'invited' (read commanded) to stay in the Volturi castle.

Bella and her were kept in separate rooms so Jade wouldn't be able to teleport her sister away easily.

However, it was only after she confirmed a guard would be assigned to keep Edward Cullen from trying to drain Bella again.

Thank goodness she had her sister on a regime of taking the Potion of Prompt Resurrection every 48 hrs since she moved to Italy. But now away from her stock Jade worried for her sister. She wasn't sure if the potion still worked after it had already been used once in the 48 hours or not. She'd never tested multiple deaths of sims in her gameplay, now she wished she had.

Marcus visited her accompanied by a guard who delivered her food.

After waiting for the guard to leave, he spoke in a low undertone.

Holding his hand out, "Is there somewhere we can talk in private?"

With a smile she popped them over into her space.

"No one can hear us here and I'll be notified if someone enters the room."

Marcus didn't let go of her hand, instead his cold thumb caressed the top of it.

"You seemed relieved Aro couldn't read your thoughts."

"I know about something he did that no one else knows."

She squeezed his hand in hers and pulled him inside her house and sat him down on a lush white sofa.

"You told me that Didyme died when the Romanions invaded."

Marcus nodded solemnly.

"If what I know is true, it wasn't the Romanions. It was Aro, he killed his sister to keep you both from leaving the Volturi. Then had Chelsea keep you tied to him and the coven, so you wouldn't leave or...kill yourself."

Marcus looked at the ground, his brow furrowed. "I can't feel the connection right now. It's as if this place cut it."

"Or Chelsea's influence?"

Marcus nodded, he pulled his hand away to clench it in his lap. Before he looked up at her, "I wouldn't have killed myself, Didyme made me promise I would search for the one who marked my soul." He held up his left ring finger.

Jade gave a small gasp, "I thought they only appeared once I arrived in the world, not since the beginning of the timeline."

"I had my suspicions but they quieted under the influence of Chelsea. Caius would kill Aro if he knew..."

"Was Caius close to Didyme?"

Marcus nodded, "Not many know this, many assume it was Aro who turned his sister but it was Caius. Caius thought such a source of happiness should live forever. When she died, he brought ruin upon the Romanions...so much of his anger even now is due to her loss. Sometimes I have felt as if he felt it more stronger than I."

Jade reached out and held his hand, "Everyone grieves differently, Marcus."

"Aro knows who you are Jade, you are not safe."

She let out a small squeal and blushed as he pulled her into his lap and breathed her in.

"Perhaps it's time to leave then."

His arms tightened around her.

"Marcus, will you come with me?"

Marcus's lips brushed against her neck, "I'm not even alive anymore, and you are still mortal."

"What if I could give you wings?" Jade turned her head so she could see Marcus's face go through a wide variation of expressions; grief, confusion then greed.

"You can turn me into a fairy, like that question long ago? You even had me commission wings from Caius." He chuckled as she nodded. "Can Caius come? He's more my brother than Aro ever was."

"If he agrees to be changed as well. Doesn't he have a wife, Athenadora?"

Marcus shook his head, "They divorced long ago when she found her mate." Turning her around so they could talk face to face, "What about Isabella?"

"I think she'll come. Dad got married last year and his wife is expecting, I think he'll be ok without us." Bella and her had matchmade Cora and Charlie and they fell quickly, Cora already having a soft spot for him. "I also have a trust that will go to his future kids and some extra for Dad and his wife if they need it."

Marcus cuddled her for a little while, "What do we do next?"

"We get Caius and Bella in the same room. Give the invites then hop into this space. We can be here as long as we like before I need to go to my next world where my other chosen are." Jade looked into Marcus's eyes, "I didn't really think how my chosen would feel with sharing. I'm sorry."

Marcus brushed his lips against her forehead, "I believe your love is big enough for all of us."
