The day was long and hellish for Luke with his twin on his neck but with the teachers constantly coming in it reduced the stress....
By the end of the day he was exhausted.
"I hate my life" he complains as he walks down the hall to the exit
Nathaniel being with him laughed "was Spain not as this" he asked
"no, it wasn't" Luke quickly said back to Nathaniel who seems amazed by his response
"OK, then you just have to adjust to the new system now don't you??" Nathaniel asked
"yeah, you're right I have... What a stress" Luke said with a frown on his face indicating his distain.
They arrive at the exit and what he hated even more met him there, his fucking siblings.
"make it quick nerd, I need to get home as soon as possible" Tia said looking at Luke with anger written all over her face.
"pisss, what happened to her that made her angry like that" Nathaniel asked looking at Luke's sister in the car their dad got them for their school run.
"don't know, don't care" Luke said as he waved Nathaniel his goodbye as he made his way to the car"see you later Nate"
"see you tomorrow or talk later lukey" Nathaniel said as he walked the other way.
The drive back home was silent with Luke reading a book with his headphones on to keep his noisey siblings as they played the radio with high volume
"Hey nerdy what you reading, one of your boring books" Blake said with a teasing tone but he didn't get any reply from Luke but a look of distain from him instead as he looked at his book again without care.
They arrived home and each of them walked in the house meeting their parents at the table where they where doing some work with their laptops
"good day mom... good day dad" Luke said as he made his way to his room "good day sweetheart, how was your day at school" his mom inquire about his day at school
"bad as hell mom" he said making a face to his twin who sat across them in the kitchen "oh" was all she could say before someone spoke up
"Luke language" his father said as he left his face from his laptop with glasses on
"OK dad, my bad" he said with a little frown as he walked up the stairs to his room.
"Dan cut the kid some slack for Christ sack" his mom said as she got up to the move to the kitchen to get something together for the kids.
In Luke's room he threw his bag on his chair as he falls on his bed
"hahaaaaa" he screams as he turned up to face the ceiling "I hate myself" he said with his eyes closed.
A phone call came in to cause him snap his eyes open as he pick up his phone to see the caller ID
"an unknown caller, how strange... Hello" he picked the call but what shocked him was the familiar voice that came out from his phone
"hello lukey, it's me Nathaniel" the voice said from the other end of the line
"oh Nate, hello and how did you get my number cause I can't remember giving it to you tho???" Luke asked surprised by Nathaniel sudden call
There was a silent in the background for a while before Nathaniel spoke "am sorry I got it from looking you up online so sorry if it looks kinda.... You know disturbing"
"no not at all it is OK... It is nothing you aren't disturbing me one bit. Actually you helped me with the stress of my own home" Luke said looking at his ceiling while still having a frown on his face as he remembered the earlier episode he got downstairs.
"OK, sorry about that I just called in to check on you and to ask you a little bit of a favour" Nathaniel said sounding a bit hopeful like his life depended on this favour he just asked.....
"hmm and if I may ask what this Favour is" Luke asked as he sat up his bed.
"nothing too hard tho but I need you to give me the note you wrote down at class today" Nathaniel tuned down his voice when asking Luke his favour
"right... OK I will send them over through a file or a pdf sounds great" he asked as he stood up to go to his closet to change from what he was wearing
"yeah, great it's good for me" Nathaniel said
"nerdy who you talking to, get you fucking ass down to the table now!!!" Tia screams from the stairs
"will be down in a sec" Luke shouts back at her before turning back to his phone "sorry about that" he apologized for the disturbance from his sister.
"it is nothing, just send the books over later"
"OK, I will do it before I get down for dinner you will receive it soonest" Luke said as he moved the phone to his other ear for a more comfortable conversation
"will be happy to receive it soon.... I think this is where I will end our conversation, bye for now" Nathaniel said as he awaits Luke's words "OK bye, later Nate" Luke said as he ended the call and went to his files of notes and sent them over to Nathaniel before he ran downstairs for dinner.
As usual dinner was bad and boring as always for Luke shouts between his parents and siblings and it tires him out "will you all just shut the fuck up and let someone eat in peace!!!!!" he screamed as he put down his cutlery and got up as he said "never mind am going out for a bit I need a fresher air" with that he got up living the rest of the family stunned by his sudden outrage.
Luke personality was as calm as water at midnight or as calm as a dove in its nest but with his outburst of rage it was unlike him to do that and his mother knew that..... The house condition and his family crisis were getting to him.
When he got outside he took some air and tried getting himself to relax abit, when he was done he could hear noises coming from inside the house, 'I think that must be mom oh well I don't care for now' he thought as he walked out the compound of his own home walking to only God's know where...
He just had to keep himself busy or get distracted before going home cause his family were definitely not helping. He took out his phone and headphone which was always on his neck, plucking it on his ears and entered his 'suno app' where he creates his own music and listen to people's own music too.
He played 'HURT IN THE INSIDE' by Abel Rhythm his best songs creator, as he started walking off into the evening to cool off.
As the song played he walked pass the streets and got to the park he was playing a song from Abel Rhythms track 'WHAT AM SCARED OF' and he just couldn't help it but sing along with the song as he watch some parents and their kids walking in and out the park, he could also see single and coupley people walking to and fro the park to seeming like they are enjoying their time there then he heard his name from a familiar person
"lukey, what you doing here?????" the voice asked in anticipation as the other guy took of his headphone off to find where his name was coming from. The boy seems to understand that Luke hasn't noticed him so he called out again "hey lukey, what's up"
Turning his head to the side he saw the face that always made him had peace even when he wasn't having one "oh hey, Nathaniel" he greeted with a small smile creeping up his face.
"Hey, what're you doing here at this hour... Didn't take you as the one who walk evening or night walks" Nathaniel said as he got close to the other boy standing in front of him
There was a long sign coming from Luke as he just said in few words "family crisis"
"care to share"
"no just forget about it, it's not like it is something important..... And by the way what're you doing here???" Luke asks
"oh, I work somewhere close to the park and don't ask why but just know that I need extra money for something important OK" Nathaniel said not wanting Luke to pry into his business.
"okkkk, so what do you do. I mean where do you work???" Luke inquires as he slides his phone and headphone into his pocket and around his neck as he stirs at the larger man in front of him.
"oh, I work at an ice cream shop just around the corner of the park" he said as he began to walk "am on night duty this week"
"is the shop that big, I man to have a nightly duty it must be a moving establishment right" Luke looked amazed with Nathaniel line of work as he walks with him to his workplace.
"yeah, it is even the evenings that are more packed because of the relaxation and the little dates people comes there to do" he said as they made a turn.... Then as if something came out his line of thinking he said "I think you can come there to relax or bring your girlfriend there for dates, the ice-cream there are to die for especially for the ladies".
"I don't have a girlfriend" Luke deadpin his answer but continues "but I could go there to relax any time am been stressed out, hmmm am even going to check it out first so it's a win for me since am stressed out by my family anyways"
"OK, that's great I will be serving you then" Nathaniel said with a cute voice he had come to start liking "yeah, I look forward to that" Luke replied with a smile.
It took a few minutes before they got there and Nathaniel announced their arrival "we are here, welcome to 'Mr Charles ice cream Cafe' isn't it great"
"yes it is but you said nothing of it being a cafe not a shop, but never mind it is great but the name tho needs more creativity" he sais looking at the entrance of the cafe
"right I said the same thing my first day here too, we do think alike and I love that about us" Nathaniel said as he laughs
Luke joined in the laughing section as they both made their way through the doors.
Author words: I kinda love their friendship and it's dynamic, the two main characters of this story really are something aren't they... I look forward to were they fall in love with each other, but I think Luke is already falling in love with Nathaniel as it is without him knowing it. Hahahaha just keeping the energy cause I just finished my two years programme but am not done till another two year or three maybe four years till I finish again. Later guys see you later.
