Loud chatters were heard as the students all entered the arena to have their first combat exercise and to the surprise of many, a lot of spectators came due to the influence of Lord Third announcing that his students may choose disciples from this batch of new children depending on their talent.
Many parents saw how Minato Namikaze's life did a whole 180 once Jiraya took him under his wing, so most took the opportunity to watch which lucky child gets picked by his last two remaining disciples.
"Whoa, why are so many people here?"
"I'm getting nervous, this is just a practice exam right?"
"Look it's Lord Hokage! He's here to watch us"
"Not only him, Lady Tsunade and Lord Orochimaru are here too! I will definitely win today's exercise"
Asuka looked around in silence and saw his parents in the stands waving enthusiastically. He then followed his classmates to sit down and prepare for the combat assessment.
"Students, you will be sparring against your classmates in front of this crowd. Make sure not to kill each other and make sure to keep in mind that no one should hold grudges over a loss" Himari explained.
While Himari was giving instructions, Asuka got a transmission from a familiar voice. "Asuka, I'm talking to you via transmission so you can talk to me from all the way over there. change of plans go all out." Takeshi said
"What changed? I don't want to gain recognition from the people you warned me about Dad"
"Did you forget about the one positive factor in the village too?"
"You mean Lady Tsunade? Why would she take an interest in me?"
"Don't worry much about it and listen to your dad this time around. Make sure to showcase your medical ninjutsu your mother taught you."
"…yes Dad"
While Asuka and Takeshi were talking fights were already underway. Some finished fast due to some kids not knowing any jutsu at all. While some met Kakashi and Shisui early on by a stroke of bad luck.
"Next Asuka vs Hyuga Jiro both of you come on the stage" Himari called out.
"Ohhh we finally see Jiro fight now"
"I heard Asuka's father is a jonin, He may win against Jiro"
While chatter was happening between onlookers, Hiruzen looked at his two students and asked them, "Who do you think will win this battle?"
Orochimaru thought for a second and replied "Hyuga taijutsu is heard to beat especially for most genin so I see Jiro winning"
Tsunade on the other hand showed no interest and was only here because her teacher agreed to give her a gambling allowance as long as she took in a disciple to teach.
Asuka and Jiro stood on the field facing each other and gave each other a smile before getting serious " Ok seal of reconciliation" Both did as told "ok now 3 2 1 GO" Himari shouted.
The fight was under way and Jiro immediately activated his byakugan and rushed towards Asuka who stood still waiting for his opponent to make the first move.
"Damn byakugan.. this is gonna be an issue isn't it" Asuka thought as he prepared his attack pattern
Shadow clone!
Poof poof, Asuka called in two shadow clones and had them both prepare to use C rank fire dragon Jutsu and his main body rushed in while throwing shurikens at Jiro.
"Rushing in against a Hyuga is suicide but as long as you have something else to keep them busy you are good. Jiro isn't like Neji who has the caged bird so no exploits in visions"
Eight Trigrams Sixteen Palms!
Jiro immediately used taijutu to deflect the shurikens then rushed towards Asuka again while keeping his eye on the two shadow clones in the back.
Tsunade sneered "How stupid is this brat? Rushing toward a Hyuga won't save him."
"Maybe he has a plan Tsunade," Orochimaru said while still watching the fight his eyes looking with excitement at what could happen.
Fire style Dragon jutsu!x2
Two flame dragons flew past Asuka and immediately headed towards Jiro who had to stop and put up a defensive stance.
Gentle fist Eight trigrams 16 palms!
"NO gentle fist Eight trigrams 32 palms, 64 palms!"
Jiro underestimated the power of the fire dragon jutsu and felt a burning sensation as the two fire dragons hit his hands. He had no choice but to reinforce his technique but that also made him waste most of his chakra.
Most hyugas conserve chakra by using the 64 palms technique but for a genin, this is enough to use up most of their chakra pool in one go.
Due to the rotation of the Eight Trigrams 64 palms, the fire dragons flew back toward Asuka who struck back.
Earth Style Rock wall!
A tall rectangular wall erupted in front of Asuka and the residual heat from the fire dragon jutsu encapsulated the rock wall and left the bottom half of his shirt burning. After extinguishing the flame
Asuka backed away and had to redo his whole game plan.
"His chakra has to be low so I would just need him to run out and claim victory easily."
Unbeknownst to them both, the stadium was erupting in chatter. No one expected this practical to be intense.
"Asuka was this strong? woahhh!!"
"Look at Jiro too, he is using 64 palms! As an academy student that's beyond impressive, even genius like"
Hiruzen looked down in astonishment at the two kids. he gave a slight nod and turned around to his disciples.
"Impressed yet?"
Orochimaru looked at him and smiled while Tsunade was more focused on the gambling allowance she would eventually get.
"Hmph Hiruzen you expect these two to be good teachers?" a raspy voice came in the hokage venue.
"Danzo what are you doing here?" Hiruzen asked
"What? I only came to pick someone for my organization" Danzo replied
As they were talking the fight was still underway
"I'll drag this on for as long as I need to"
Fire Dragon Jutsu!
Asuka ran around the stadium hoping to make Jiro continue to waste chakra while also checking on his own so he doesn't run low too.
Eight trigrams 32 palms!
Jiro felt his chakra start to bottom out so he used one last gentle fist before he charged toward Asuka with dangerous intent
"So it's taijutsu you want now that you ran out huh?" Asuka said "I'll entertain you but I won't make it fair"
Shadow clone!
Poof! they ran in tandem toward Jiro who threw one shuriken to try and dispel the shadow clone but Asuka's main body switched places and deflected the shuriken with a kunai.
A battle of taijutsu was happening in the arena with both sides exchanging blows. Brute punches were thrown while Asuka's shadow clone lasted 2 exchanges. Both sides had bruises and decided to try and end the fight in the next exchange.
Asuka saw no reason to stall the fight any longer and backed away and healed.
E Rank Healing Jutsu!
Asuka healed up as he ran away but after checking his chakra he stopped and looked at Jiro like prey.

There were now 5 asukas on the field and they all rushed to close in Jiro with one plan in mind, enclose and defeat.
The shadow clones encircled Jiro and all hit the same jutsu
Earth-style rock wall!
The usage of the jutsu looked like you were packaging a box of cereal with Jiro as the centerpiece. Before Jiro could respond he was trapped with nothing to do.
Fire Style Dragon Jutsu!
The main Asuka was in the sky after jumping off a shadow clone's back and getting over the wall. The dragon flew down towards Jiro but before it could hit, WATER STYLE WATER BULLET! The jutsu was neutralized.
The shadow clones all went away as Asuka's chakra also bottomed out. What was left was a steamy arena and two passed-out children each being carried away by the nurses.
"Orochimaru, why did you intervene?" Danzo asked
"That fire dragon would kill Jiro, now imagine the cons of that happening" Orochimaru replied before looking at Hiruzen.
Hiruzen didn't reply but rather asked "With this month's practical over did anyone catch your eye?"
