The mysterious youth was just about to let out a sigh of relief, but his hand froze in mid-air. Hana, who should have been unconscious, was still standing tall. Her head was bowed, but her body emitted a vibration that made the reality around her seem to crack.
Suddenly, thick black lines—ancient curse patterns spreading like the roots of a demonic tree—emerged from the tips of her toes, crawling up through her fair skin until they stopped right in the center of her smooth forehead. There, a pitch-black orb symbol formed, pulsing like a bloodthirsty heart.
Hana looked up. Her eyes were no longer blue, no longer an empty black, but a glowing, fiery red that contrasted sharply with the wide, creepy smile tearing across her beautiful face.
Without a single movement, without a single word—only an invisible distortion of space—the youth was slammed into the ground.
KA-BOOM!
The ground beneath the youth sank five meters deep. His bones creaked, and his internal organs were crushed by an absolute gravitational pressure that appeared instantly. The youth didn't even have time to scream; he was utterly defeated in a single second, lying unconscious in the crater he had inadvertently created.
"Hahahaha! FINALLY, I AM FREE!"
The voice exploded, shattering the remaining glass across the entire city block. Hana laughed maniacally, her arms spreading wide as if to embrace the entire ruined world. "Where is the one who can equal me?! I'm bored!" she screamed at the sky, which was now turning crimson.
Hana stepped gracefully toward the helpless youth's body. She raised her right hand, cursed energy concentrating at her fingertips, ready to erase the student from the face of the earth.
SET.
A hand with bandages on the wrist gripped Hana's wrist.
Hana flinched. She turned and found a white-haired man standing there. The man wore a medical mask covering half of his face, and both of his eyes were tightly closed—as if this world were not worthy for him to see. This man was the figure from the drawing, the teacher of the fallen youth.
"You..." Hana hissed.
"Sorry about that, Great God," the white-haired man said in a relaxed tone, almost as if he were greeting a neighbor. "You can't hurt my student. He still has a lot of homework to finish."
With a light flick that looked incredibly lazy, the man deflected Hana's energy. He then pushed Hana's chest with the palm of his hand—a push that seemed gentle yet sent the God of Curses flying back hundreds of meters, smashing through three buildings at once.
DUAR! DUAR! DUAR!
Hana rose from the ruins, her beautiful face now completely filled with rage. "Insolent human!"
Hana lunged, and the white-haired Teacher met her. The battle that previously looked grand now felt like child's play compared to what was happening now. The two traded blows in mid-air. Every clash of their fists created black lightning that split the clouds.
The Teacher moved with extreme efficiency; even though both his eyes were closed, he parried every one of Hana's gravity attacks with just the movement of a finger. Hana tried to slice the space around the man, but he always seemed to be exactly one millimeter out of her reach.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
A fierce exchange of blows took place atop the city ruins. Their speed had surpassed sound. Hana launched thousands of gravity punches, but the Teacher countered with precise strikes. The shockwaves from their battle slowly leveled the buildings that were still standing.
"Come on, show me more, O Absolute One," the Teacher said amidst the exchange, a thin smile visible behind the white bandages now serving as his mouth covering. "Don't make me feel bored too."
The chapter closes with their fists colliding in mid-air, creating a blast of light that blinded the entire city.
