Lynn Carter is one of the top S- class fashion models in United States and due to the accident affecting her arm and shoulders, she couldn't show up for the commercial scheduled on her list. So She has to wait a few weeks before she can go back to work.
Later when April went to Aunt Sophie's salon, Ruby had also called her to meet there and currently both Aunt Sophie and Ruby are staring at April.
They both continued to stare at her to the point April guessed the reason why they were staring and not saying anything to her for almost 20minutes.
Knowing the reason, April quickly lowered her head. "Isn't it time you spill it already? Since you now feel guilty." Ruby spoke softly with a frown on her face.
"I- I didn't have a choice" April muttered.
"And you didn't have a choice, when you married him behind our back? You didn't even tell us about it, how could you have done that?" Ruby continued to frown at her friend.
April didn't tell them she got married to Lucas. They only got to know about it because grandfather Brook called to inform and congratulate them as he thought April already told her aunt.
"I- I couldn't turn down his request after everything he had done for me. He really took care of me without asking for anything in return, how could I just turn grandfather down like that" April Carter explained with her head lowered.
"But you could have at least told us something," Ruby scolded softly.
"Ruby, Don't hurt your friend further, at least now we know." Aunt Sophie sighed. "I hope he's treating you well?"
April nodded positively "I'm not sure about him yet, but so far he's good" she assured and lowered her head again.
"That's good then." With that aunt Sophie left the two friends to talk while she goes on with her business of the day. She didn't worry about the issue too much because she knows grandfather Brook will be there to protect her if anything happens.
"So! So! How's marriage life going with cold faced Mr Brook? Is he treating you like a queen?" Ruby teased with a smug smile.
Immediately April heard her friend, she remembered the hot kiss that happened in the car as her face quickly flushed while she tried to look away.
"Oh! Is that a blush I see? Something happened between you too, didn't it? I'm I right?"
April's face turned red while she playfully hit Ruby's arm
"Ruby, stop it!"
They both began teasing and hitting each other playfully. Just as things were getting interesting, Lucas's call came in through her phone.
She quickly picked the call and reduced the volume, so Ruby wouldn't hear what he said but it was obvious.
"Oh, I'll- be right there" April replied with her voice a little above a whisper.
Ruby gave a grin with her eyes sparkling with amusement, "looks like someone is in a hurry to see her husband" she teased, causing April's face to turn bright red.
"Ruby, stop it!" She muttered covering her face.
Lucas was already waiting outside the car with one hand in his pocket and seductive smiles on his face.
Ruby continued to tease her friend till April had to run inside the car hiding her face and composing herself in presence of Lucas.
Lucas also entered the car after but he soon noticed and guessed what might have happened between April and Ruby knowing the type of goofy friend Ruby is. He didn't say anything about her flushed face and just smiled slightly instead.
April glanced at him and cleared her throat with one hand trying to pat her red cheeks.
"So tell me, how did your day go?" Lucas asked, glancing at April.
"It- it went well, thank you" her voice a bit shaky. April didn't know what to say again and also decided to ask about his day.
"Wh- what about your day? How did it go?" She muttered in a soft voice without looking at Lucas.
"It was good but stressful"
April's eyes flicked up to Lucas's face with curiosity and a mix of worry spelt over her face.
Lucas glanced at her and smiled; "Are you worried about me? Don't worry it's nothing much. I just need some energy to keep me going." He smiled
April didn't understand what he meant by energy and nodded slightly but then Lucas grabbed her left hand and interlocked his fingers into hers.
April widened her eyes with her cheeks burning red "wh- wh- what is he doing?" She thought in her mind staring at him but Lucas feign ignorance and continued to smile while holding her hand tightly.
Soon, Lucas made a quick turning by the side of the road into an unknown direction to April. Her eyes quickly flickered with curiosity.
"Where are we going?" She asked staring at Lucas who was busy chuckling at her actions.
"Relax! We are going to my place, now our house" he fixed his eyes on the road.
April was surprised by the way he said 'our house' like it's a normal thing. Her heart began beating fast, unsure of how to process the feeling of living together with him also she didn't know what to expect from this marriage.
"Don't worry, we'll be moving back to the family house soon. I just wanted us to have a little 'us' time together. Since we just got married, I thought we needed our own space"
"But what about our things? We haven't packed anything yet."
"You don't have to stress about that. I already had Andrew get a few things for us, including getting your school materials from the family house."
April relaxed a bit after Lucas replied but soon she had her eyes widened again at the sight of Lucas's house.
She wasn't surprised that Lucas can't afford it but she widened her eyes wondering why Lucas decided to have this big and luxurious house only to live in it by himself.
Swiftly, he pulled up in front of the villa and his bodyguards quickly ran over to open the door of the car.
"Welcome back boss!" The bodyguards said in chorus greeting Lucas. He didn't reply and quickly took April by the hand as they both strolled in climbing the stairs towards the entrance.
