The villa is a luxury building of black exterior all through with the shape speaking the works of an architect Lucas is. A few of his expensive cars were also packed in front of the building.
April didn't know to feel about Lucas as they strolled into the house, she lowered her head a bit, staring at the way Lucas was holding her hand.
Even though she could still feel the uncertainty about their marriage, somehow she felt safe in his presence from the way he has been treating her, but then the unpredictability still remains since she married the man who once rejected his own child.
She couldn't make out an answer for why Lucas rejected the baby two years ago.
Soon, Lucas led April all through the mansion's hallway till they climbed up the stairs to a room he opened.
April glanced around with curiosity wondering who the room belongs to since it's a large room with luxury designs.
While glancing, Lucas blurted out words that had April in shock with her heart beating fast.
"So, this is my room, now our bedroom. Some of your things are already in the walk in closet in case you need them later." Lucas revealed but April immediately swallowed hard, "I'll be sharing this room with him?"
April thought in her mind with a sigh. Even though she's married the second time, the two experiences feel different. The time she was married to Jake Steele, she never had any room in her name not to talk of having things she called her own.
But this marriage with Lucas is different, allowing her have her own personal space in the walk in closet along with sharing the room with him which she's currently scared of because she would have to sleep on the same bed with him.
April strolled around in the room checking out the luxury designs and furniture also with the way the room is shaped, she couldn't help but wow at it while Lucas watched her every step with smiles.
At some point she couldn't help but just ask Lucas questions;
"Did you design the building yourself? It's so beautiful!"
"Do you like it?" He asked with one hand in his pocket.
"Yes!— It's cool" April smiled and Lucas loved it as he stared at her from the entrance he stood.
"I'm glad you do! Come let's have dinner downstairs. The chef is waiting."
They both strolled down the stairs to the dining room.
While they were eating Lucas couldn't help but steal a few glances at April. He also picked some side dishes into her plate.
But April ate with her head lowered a bit as she picks on her food slowly.
"You don't have to hide your real self when you're with me." Lucas blurted.
April stopped moving suddenly after what he said, thinking she didn't hear well until Lucas said it again.
"You don't have to hide your real self when you're with me. Besides, I want you to be free with me and ask for anything. I am cold and ruthless and that only comes when dealing with business, but you're different."
April didn't say anything and instead looked at him with her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
Lucas has been willing to say those words to her since the night of their marriage and apologize for what he said to her before registering their marriage. He knew it wasn't her fault Grandfather Brook arranged the marriage for the both of them.
He also felt guilty for sleeping with her on the wedding night even though she wasn't willing and he had to convince her to do it.
"I want you to feel relaxed when you're with me, okay? Feel free to tell me anything." Lucas smiled after.
"Ca– can- I really do that?" April asked in a hoarse low voice
"Of course you can! I'm your husband, you can do whatever you want, okay?" He then placed a deep kiss on her forehead and hugged her after.
April continued to cry in his arms softly.
She didn't know how to process the feeling of Lucas confessing all of a sudden. Even if it wasn't a love confession, feeling safe and secure was enough.
"Did I get married to a cry baby?" Lucas asked while laughing at her but April replied while hitting his chest hard;
"Is it not because of you?"
They both laughed it off teasing each other. When it was time to sleep, they both came into the room but Lucas went into the study instead so April would feel free to change her clothes and bath for the night.
April already began feeling weird when she and Lucas entered the room but immediately she saw Lucas strolling into the study, she quickly ran into the walk-in closet to look for a night wear before Lucas would come back to the room.
But at the sight of the night wears available, April had her mouth opened in shock. How is she going to wear this? She thought in her mind, staring at the wears.
After so much thought, she decided to put on one of it. When it's not like she'd go to sleep naked and wearing thick clothing would be awkward too. So she had her bath and changed into the wine silk mini night gown.
The funniest of it all, there were no long robes attached to each night gowns. April stood there for a while before deciding to put on a long jacket on top of the mini gown.
That way it wouldn't seem like she was trying to seduce Lucas besides Andrew was the one that made a mistake when Lucas told him to get a few stuff for them.
Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment trying to cover herself up as much as possible. Next, she took a deep breath to prepare herself for what to come before she finally walked out from the walk in closet.
By the time she came out, Lucas was already out of the study and waiting for her to finish so he could also go in and change for the night.
