"It seems the security level of the base needs a comprehensive upgrade!"
Nick Fury secretly made a decision in his heart. Although this was purely his speculation, without any strong evidence to support it.
But when it came to such matters, one could never be too careful.
Logically speaking, the only interstellar object Nick Fury knew of on Earth was indeed the Cosmic Cube.
He had to be on guard.
"Nick Fury, did you think of something?"
Iron Man's attention was still very sharp. Nick Fury's expression shifted slightly, and Iron Man immediately noticed it, staring at Nick Fury and asking.
"Nothing." Nick Fury shook his head, brushing him off. How could he reveal such important information?
Iron Man didn't press further but made up his mind.
After the quiz ended and they returned, he would fully crack the S.H.I.E.L.D. system and unearth all the unsavory secrets hidden deep within S.H.I.E.L.D.
To see if he could find any clues.
"The key information provided by the quiz system is too scarce. We don't know why these aliens invaded New York."
"The only useful information we have right now is the method of this alien invasion: they invaded New York by opening a space wormhole."
"Space technology is far beyond current Earth technology. The technology of these aliens should be far superior to Earth's technological level."
"Or perhaps, it's a magical power. But no matter which one, it indicates that their civilization is far more advanced than Earth's."
Nick Fury once again analyzed with sound reasoning.
This made Iron Man and Black Widow's expressions turn a bit grim. This was not good news.
"Besides that, neither the Earth's army nor the so-called 'response team' could resist these alien invaders, which forced the higher-ups to make the extreme decision to launch a nuclear bomb."
Black Widow added, making the atmosphere even more oppressive.
"What was shown in the video was just this battle in New York. We still don't know if the war spread to other cities."
"If it did, then this could very well be a global crisis!"
"Of course, I might be exaggerating a bit, but in such matters, we might as well prepare for the worst."
Nick Fury said in a deep voice, "If such a thing really happens in the future, we must control the battlefield in New York!"
"Sir, that doesn't sound like an easy task." Black Widow shrugged.
"The portal! That's the key!"
Iron Man, who had been pondering for a moment, spoke emphatically, "We've already seen the alien fleet outside the portal. What a massive fleet that is. Only a fool would think about how to fight such a fleet."
"Since the aliens invaded New York through a portal, couldn't we just close the portal in time?"
Iron Man pointed out the problem incisively.
"Stark, you're talking about space technology, or magical power!"
Nick Fury also pointed out the crucial issue, "According to the video, this war might arrive in a few years. Can you master space technology, which is still in science fiction novels, or learn magic, within a few years?"
"I don't know." Even Iron Man, who was always very arrogant, rarely put on such an attitude.
Space technology was indeed far beyond the current era's technology. If there was enough time, Iron Man was confident he could master it.

Then why not use them from the beginning?
The video clearly showed that the portal's location was indeed above Stark Tower.
Nick Fury was actually a bit tempted.

Iron Man shook his head, denying it.
Thor was indeed a god, but a god was not omnipotent. For another race's civilization, Thor would most likely be at a loss.
"That makes sense… So, Thor and the Earthlings teamed up to fight their own race?" Black Widow immediately refuted herself, "That doesn't sound very likely."
Everyone fell into contemplation for a moment. The fact that the nuclear bomb wasn't intercepted was indeed a bit strange.
Not to mention a highly advanced civilization that had mastered portal technology, wouldn't any fleet be equipped with a basic interception system?
Otherwise, wouldn't they just be sitting ducks?
