Annabelle left her room and began walking down the stairs, hoping she hadn't kept him waiting. Who would have thought that she'll be so exhausted that the moment she sank into the bath, she wouldn't want to leave?
She had spent more time soaking in there than she had intended. The exhaustion had hit all at once.
She sighed, shaking her head. She smiled faintly.
"I hope he isn't angry," she muttered.
Reaching the foot of the stairs, she heard voices where she thought the dining room was and followed the sound.
It was Isaac speaking.
"Vampires have started making their move," Isaac said, his fingers tapping the screen of the tablet in his hand. "They've crossed boundaries again and are causing havoc in alliance territory," he passed the tablet to Cassian.
Annabelle's steps halted, and she blinked.
Vampires? Are they talking about a movie? She thought. But seeing how serious they looked, a small spark of doubt surfaced in her mind.
