ANNABELLE'S POV:
I had braced myself for a contract that would either serve mainly Cassian's interests or, at the very least, make it a fair trade. What I saw instead was far from either.
Aside from everything else listed overwhelmingly in my favor—granting me access to everything as if it were already mine from the very beginning—there were only three clauses I truly had to consider.
Clause 1: Marital Obligations
Party B shall fulfill her role as the lawful wife of Party A for the duration of the contract.
Both parties shall remain exclusively faithful to one another and shall not engage in romantic or intimate relations with any third party.
Party A and Party B shall share a residence and sleeping quarters unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.
Any violation of this clause shall result in a penalty determined at the discretion of the offended party.
I paused, my gaze fixed on that condition as my heart began to race.
