Podrick was like a tumor to the centaurs, and also a source of infection. They didn't dare kill Podrick, fearing they would be infected with greyscale.
Helpless, the centaurs had no choice but to drive Podrick away.
When Podrick returned to Meereen, he told Mufasa about his ordeal.
"It seems they really are going to break the dam! We can't let them do that. We'll raid their camp tonight!" Mufasa said.
He gathered all the Unsullied and the soldiers of Meereen, preparing for another night attack.
However, before they set off, the Green Priestess sent someone to stop Mufasa and his men, saying they didn't need to go, as the crisis in Meereen had been resolved.
"What? Have the centaurs all left? Why?" Mufasa asked.
"The Green Priestess said she saw a corpse, the corpse of a horse rotting on the ground, and she believes this signifies a major plague among the centaurs!" the Blue Priestess said.
Mufasa and his men did not launch another night attack on the Dothraki, but they sent some people to investigate the situation.
At dawn, the soldiers returned to report.
"The centaur warriors have all retreated."
"Excellent! Meereen is finally safe!" All the soldiers and Good Masters celebrated joyfully.
Mufasa returned to the Temple of Graces and asked the Green Priestess.
"Why did Khal Drogo retreat? Did they really get the plague?"
The Green Priestess sat on a high stone seat, with the statue of the Harpy above her head.
Mufasa took the opportunity to check her stats.
"Name: Grazdan mo Kandaq"
"Identity: Green Priestess of the Temple of Graces"
"Occupation: Priestess, Prophet"
"Strength: 2"
"Speed: 2"
"Intelligence: 30"
"Spirit: 60"
"Magic: 60"
"Talent: Prophecy. Can see future events with her green eyes, similar to a greenseer, but not as powerful."
Her magic was indeed stronger than Melisandre's, worthy of a Green Priestess. She should be compared to Benerro, the High Priest of the Lord of Light; Melisandre's rank was still a bit low, Mufasa thought.
"I saw someone riding a pale mare enter their camp, and then the Dothraki warhorses began to sicken, rotting from within, eventually becoming bare bones," the Green Priestess said.
"Who was riding the pale mare?" Mufasa asked.
"Their own people."
"Their own people, the centaurs?"
"There was turmoil within their ranks, which saved Meereen from war. What exactly it was, I did not see more; my green eyes cannot be all-knowing."
What Mufasa and his men didn't know was that Khal Drogo and his people retreated not because of a plague, but because something had happened in their sacred city of Vaes Dothrak.
Almost all the Khals were rushing back because a major event concerning the fate of the Dothraki had occurred.
Mufasa and his men stayed in Meereen for another three days, then began their journey back.
When Mufasa left, all the nobles of Meereen came outside the city gates to see him and his party off.
"Ser Mufasa, I hope we can continue to cooperate in the future, and cooperate with House Lannister," Bostan said.
"Of course, a long-term relationship! Although we in Westeros forbid the sale of slaves, your other products are still very popular with us!" Mufasa said.
Leaving Meereen, Mufasa led his men across the vast grassland.
After another month of travel, one midday, the sun was scorching the earth.
Mufasa and his men set up tents to shield themselves from the sun.
Everyone rested in the tents, but the horses were scattered in the open field.
As Mufasa was dozing, he heard Wuzhui's neigh.
Mufasa quickly came out to look and saw a pride of lions surrounding their camp.
The Unsullied immediately took up their weapons and counter-surrounded the pride.
The pride was small, consisting of one male lion, three lionesses, and three cubs.
What was surprising was that the male lion was exceptionally large and had a rare white coat.
It's known that white is the most conspicuous color on the savanna, and white creatures can hardly survive there; they cannot hunt or approach prey.
The fact that this male lion could grow up and even form a pride showed his immense power.
"Ser Mufasa, this is the Hrakkar you've been looking for. It's said that even among the Dothraki, only a few dare to hunt a Hrakkar," Melisandre said, dressed in a red robe, approaching Mufasa.
"Since I've encountered a Hrakkar, it won't be getting away! All of you, stand still. I will tame him myself," Mufasa said.
He slowly approached the Hrakkar, whose lion's eyes also fixed on Mufasa, this little creature.
In its eyes, Mufasa was just prey not much larger than a gazelle.
Just as the Hrakkar extended its claws, Mufasa immediately used his warging ability, projecting his consciousness into the Hrakkar.
Immediately, it stopped moving, frozen in place, utterly dumbfounded.
Mufasa's current sensation was very strange. His consciousness was not entirely transferred into the animal's body as before; half remained in his human body, and half entered the Hrakkar's body. He simultaneously experienced two perspectives.
He began to try controlling both bodies at once, but it was difficult. Mufasa's human body stumbled forward after only a few steps, and the Hrakkar tried to roll but couldn't get back up from the ground.
"Ser Mufasa, what is he doing?" Many Lannister soldiers looked at Mufasa with peculiar expressions.
"He is trying to tame this exotic beast. Everyone, do not attack them. Wait for Ser Mufasa to tame it himself," Melisandre said.
After about two quarters of an hour, Mufasa finally learned how to use both bodies simultaneously.
Mufasa mounted the Hrakkar, and then, using the Hrakkar's lion king's might, he let out a low growl. The other lionesses and cubs all prostrated themselves, showing submission.
The male lion was indeed the king of beasts.
When Mufasa fully withdrew his consciousness, the Hrakkar had become very affectionate towards him. It was like a cat, constantly rubbing against Mufasa.
"This time, I'll take you to King's Landing to open the eyes of Jaime, Tyrion, and Joffrey," Mufasa said.
They set off again, this time with several lion companions.
However, since lions often need to eat meat, Mufasa had to take them hunting on the plains every few days.
It was through hunting with the pride that Mufasa indirectly participated in hunting and eating using the Hrakkar's body. He tasted the blood of prey, eating raw meat and drinking blood, which made Mufasa himself a bit wilder.
When they entered the territory of the Free Cities, they began to buy meat for the pride, as there were no more wild animals.
The first time they ate lean meat, the lions were somewhat reluctant, but the second time, they realized the benefits of it.
Each lion's body gradually grew fatter, especially the Hrakkar, which was already the size of an ox.
Upon reaching Pentos, Mufasa and his group were forbidden from entering the city because they had a pride of lions with them.
"We are from Westeros, across the Narrow Sea. You can't do this; at least give us a ship to go home!" Podrick went to argue with them.
"Apologies, Knight from across the Narrow Sea, we are holding a memorial in our city. We lost again in our battle with Braavos, and the Prince is to be executed, and a new Prince chosen. So, there can be no disturbances in the city recently," the guard soldier said.
Mufasa stepped forward, "I am a friend of Prince Illyrio. Call him over; we'll talk," Mufasa said.
"You are a friend of the Magister! Could it be that you are also a noble in Westeros?" The soldier looked at Mufasa with suspicion. He didn't think Mufasa looked like a noble at all! What noble would ride a lion across the continent?
"Just tell him the name Varys."
An hour later, Illyrio came outside the city and met Mufasa.
"You are one of Varys's... little birds? But you seem a bit off, a bit too old?" Illyrio said, looking at Mufasa's young face.
Mufasa was currently under thirteen years old; Varys's little birds used to be even younger children.
"I am Mufasa Lannister, Magister. Lord Varys is my friend in King's Landing! He mentioned that you are also his friend. Since we are all friends, lend me a few ships so I can return to King's Landing!" Mufasa said.
Illyrio looked at Mufasa in surprise.
"So, you are Mufasa, the Lion Knight, the one Robert knighted at such a young age."
