Chapter 8 - Day Eight: The Time Blur

Survival Log for the world I have ended up in. For the record my Earth name is Ellery Kingston. My ID number is 888-3 for all Expeditionary Forces of Earth. As of July 18 of 2096 I have successfully entered a new world. As per the rules of the EFE I am writing daily logs based on my experiences and observations in this new world. With the introduction to my logs done I shall start.

Survival Log Day Eight

I practiced firebolt, ice spike, and lightning bolt for a few hours then dug out the runes. I didn't really care for the destruction runes but according to the books they helped immensely when practicing the elemental wall spells. I learned the next three elemental attacks but I only managed to throw one fire ball as the others either shocked me or shattered and launched ice into my hands.

When I attempted the flame cloak I ended up on the ground surrounded by burnt grass with nasty burns all over me. Application of healing magic put me in my ass again but this time in relief as the pain vanished.

I quickly learned to summon unbound dremora after that and they proved good practice targets. Flaming familiar was easy after that and would be quite useful in battle, proven when it exploded on an unbound dremora. I'd already learned soul trap for enchanting so I skipped it. The frost atronach was cool but useless in battle as it was a chunk of ice with limbs. Safe to say that while it hit hard and could take hits, it wasn't fast enough for combat unless in a large scale battle.

Next was restoration. Steadfast ward was nice to have and easy to get down. Sun fire was easy enough as it was a combination of healing and fire. The healing aspect pulled on godly power to make the spell especially deadly to undead, demons, and other sun fearing beasts.

Greater ward passed like steadfast had and I worked on heal other. Healing hands had been something I mostly ignored as the caster had to be close to use it. Heal other was much more effective and had better range. Last was grand healing, I only managed to cast it once and it made me eat grass. I knew it wouldn't be useful individually but great for groups.

At the end I found a spell called devour health that would allow the caster to absorb life energy from the target on contact. Upon finding it I learned if then went looking for more like it. I quickly found something called open lock which opened locks, usually by shattering the mechanism. I then found a few summon spells for armor, a mace, and a skeleton guardian.

Afterwards I found some alteration spells for earth manipulation and some elemental spells for wind magics. The wind cloak I found was meant to be just as strong as the other elemental cloaks but it was instead a soft and constant breeze that distorted incoming attacks off their deadly course.

I continued to dig through the spells of the arcaneaum into the night and found multiple charm and command spells and a night vision spell near morning.

Thus concludes my day eight survival log for this world.

Note for future EFE explorers: If something you're using has even the smallest chance of causing time blur, find some way to make yourself aware of it or something to stop the use of what is causing the time blur. This warning will be in all 'The Time Blur' logs.
