Chapter 7 - It Isn't To My Taste

Chapter 7

School Hallway

When she met Levi on her way to class, he confronted her immediately. "So now you've become rich with the money my mom gave you, right? You still even have the cause to show up shamelessly, bitch," Levi said rudely.

"Bitch, gold digger, call me whatever you want, Levi. But there's one thing you'll regret someday," Emory replied smearing.

When Emory called him by his name, he felt completely shattered. "Please leave my way. I'm sure you don't want to be seen with a gold digger like me, Levi," Emory added rudely.

Ever since then, the two became sworn enemies.

"I would never ever beg... And I am a gold digger. I got rich overnight due to the money your parents gave me. So you wouldn't want to get back with a gold digger, right?" Emory replied.

"You're lucky I still feel something for you... But too bad it's hatred. I feel like slugging you right now, but due to the love we once shared, I won't do that," Levi said angrily.

"You know what? Just leave me be. And I've got one advice for you: when you get to ask your parents if the video was real or not," Emory said, leaving for the cafeteria.

"What did she mean, 'real or not'?" Levi said to himself as he took out his phone to call someone.

"Hey, Jack, please help me investigate what really happened between Mom and Carizona... And keep this secret. Don't let Mom and Dad find out about it, okay? Also, investigate Carizona's family, okay?" Levi said to his investigator on the phone.

"Okay, sir," the investigator said.

As soon as he said it, Levi ended the call.

Killian's penthouse

"No, you'd go out of the school to get it. The school's coffee isn't to my taste," Killian said.

"But the coffee shop near our school is still few meters away," Zinnia replied.

"I know, Killian said, unbothered.

"You have ten minutes," he added.

Immediately, Killian made a statement. Zinnia dashed out. "Running like life depends on it!"

She ran to the coffee shop and ran back to the school. But by the time she came back, break was already over... and ten minutes was also over.

Cafeteria

By the time Emory got to Hazel, the bell for break rang. "Hey, where were you?" Hazel asked.

"Got into some trouble," Emory replied.

"Are you okay?" Hazel asked, noticing Emory's red eyes.

"Yeah," Emory replied, trying to hold back the tears forcing their way out of her eyes.

"No, you're not. There's tears in your eyes," Hazel said. "Who made you cry?"

"No one, I'm just emotional," Emory said.

"No, you're not. But I want you to speak. And one advice for you: tears make one weak, and sometimes strong... and speaking out makes one relieved. So don't keep everything to yourself," Hazel said.

"Thanks, Hazel. Break's over, let's go to Hall," Emory replied, smiling.

"Yeah," Hazel replied, leaving the cafeteria with Emory.

Lecture hall

As soon as the two got to the lecture hall, they went to their seats.

As soon as they took their seats, Hazel felt someone's eyes on her. When she turned to see who was glaring at her, she spotted Kenzie at the back glaring really hard at her. She ignored him, though.

The lecturer entered, and while Hazel and Emory were wondering where Zinnia was, Killian was in class at the back seat with Levi and Kenzie.

"Hey bro, what's your plan?" Killian asked.

"I'm sure it's something, 'cause you've been smiling and staring daggers at the tomboy over there," Levi added.

"You'll see by tomorrow morning," Kenzie replied.

"Hey, where's Zinnia?" Hazel asked Emory.

"There she is, and she's really sweating like she ran a hundred-meter race," Emory replied, spotting Zinnia with a coffee cup.

As soon as Zinnia came to lecture, she went straight to Killian's seat to give him the coffee.

"Here is your coffee," Zinnia said, handing Killian the cup.

"It's already cold. Throw it in the dustbin on your way back," Killian said after tasting the coffee, handing it back to Zinnia.

"Hey, I ran to the coffee shop and also ran back! You also know the coffee shop is almost two hundred meters away from school, but I still ran... and now you're telling me to throw it away?" Zinnia snapped loud enough for the whole class to hear.

"Miss Clifford, please take your seat. You came late to class and now you're disturbing the peace of the whole class," the lecturer said.

"I'm sorry, sir," Zinnia said, going to take her seat beside her friends while Killian smirked, trying hard not to laugh.

After the lecturer left, three other lecturers came to take them before the bell for closing rang. As soon as the bell rang, the exhausted students rushed out of class.

"Hey Zinnia, where were you? And what did you say you did for Kylian?" Emory asked.

"Hazel, you... do you know Zinnia's fallen prey to Killian's games as it is?" Emory stated.

"Zinnia, is it really true?" Hazel asked.

"Yes," Zinnia said sadly.

"How come? I don't seem to understand," Emory asked.

"You know Storming was always bullying me when I first came to school. But when I was going to class two weeks ago, I bumped into him by mistake..."

Flashback two weeks ago

Zinnia was on her way to class when she bumped into someone. By the time she looked up to see who it was, she saw it was Killian.

"I'm sorry," Zinnia apologized.

"Do you think sorry works for me?" Killian asked.

I didn't mean to bump into you, and it seems you got into my way on purpose," Zinnia said.

"Yeah, I got into your way on purpose... but you look like a scholarship student, which means you have no right to bump into me," Killian said.

"Just leave my way, jerk," Zinnia snapped.

"I'm sure you want to be free from Stormy, right?" Killian said.

"And who told you that?" Zinnia asked.

"The only way she'll stop is if someone higher than her says so... so if you promise to do whatever I ask you to do, I promise you Stormy would stop bullying you," Killian stated.

"What makes you think I'd listen to you?" Zinnia asked.

"'Cause you're very sure of what Stormy would do to make sure you leave the school," Killian said.

"Okay, I agree... but she must promise me she wouldn't do anything to cancel my scholarship," Zinnia replied.

"Yeah, I promise," Killian said.
