Chapter 37 - [37] Apprentice to the Dark Lord!

The iconic energy blast scene I had imagined, like those in Harry Potter or Dragon Ball, did not happen.

The instant Argus made his move, Voldemort also threw out a disarming spell.

It easily shattered Argus's curse!

"Petrificus Totalus!"

"Reducto!"

"Accio!"

"Lumos!"

Argus had faced many assassination attempts when he was in Austria, although most of them were dealt with by Vinda and others.

But he had accumulated some experience in life-or-death battles.

The spells were thrown at Voldemort as if they were free.

Compared to Argus's strenuous efforts, Voldemort's performance was nonchalant.

The admiration in his eyes was impossible to hide.

He could sense that the power and timing of Argus's spell were far beyond what an eleven-year-old child could possess.

More importantly, during the battle, Argus's control and coordination of spell timing were improving at a visible rate!

The knowledge of Dark Arts he had just learned in class was gradually integrated into his understanding during the battle.

"Expelliarmus!"

As time passed, Argus's magic began to weaken, and Voldemort casually used a disarming charm to knock Argus's wand away.

"Mr. Grindelwald, I must admit, you are the most talented teenager I have ever seen."

"It's not just your magic, but also your mastery of people's hearts."

Are you so sure I won't kill you?

Argus calmly picked up the wand, showing no sign of panic.

"This is Hogwarts. You wouldn't give up your chance to be resurrected just to kill me."

"Moreover, only a living Grindelwald can bring you greater benefits."

Voldemort laughed loudly: "You are smarter than I thought."

"Mr. Grindelwald, your wisdom has opened up another option for you!"

"Become my disciple!"

"Bearing the name of two generations of Dark Lords, you will surely become the ruler of the magical world in the future!"

To Voldemort's surprise, Argus was not as excited as he had imagined.

He only glanced at him briefly.

"Mr. Voldemort, there's no need to talk about getting something for nothing."

"If you want to become my teacher, you should at least have a presentable gift to give me upon our first meeting, right?"

Voldemort tapped his wand lightly.

The office, which had just been damaged in the fight between the two, had been restored to its original condition.

A thick notebook flew out of a drawer not far away.

It fell onto the table.

Argus picked up the notebook, glanced at it once, and couldn't look away!

Its contents were mysterious and its ideas were unique.

Even Argus, who had studied under Grindelwald for many years, couldn't help but be amazed!

"These are some notes and insights I've compiled over this period of time."

Consider it a gift for you!

Argus bowed respectfully.

"Thank you for your gift."

"Teacher!"

Voldemort laughed, a laugh he had never had before.

"From this day forward, the Death Eaters had welcomed their second master!"

"From now on, come to Quirrell's office every Saturday afternoon."

"I will personally teach you what true Dark Arts is!"

"Yes, teacher!"

Argus wasn't particularly averse to becoming Voldemort's disciple.

No matter how unscrupulous or ruthless Voldemort may be in his actions.

The knowledge and powerful magical foundation in his mind were undeniable.

Want me to do his bidding? Fine! In exchange, give me magical knowledge!

Given Argus's familiarity with the plot, it wouldn't be difficult for him to fool Voldemort, who was in a parasitic state.

After exchanging some magical knowledge with Voldemort, Argus, seeing that it was almost time, said a brief goodbye and prepared to leave.

Voldemort spoke slowly.

"Next time we meet, I hope you can bring some information about Mr. Potter and the third floor of Hogwarts."

"You will get it, teacher!"

After Argus left.

Quirrell looked as if all his energy had been drained, and he was completely exhausted.

Sweating profusely, he staggered to the bedside and pulled a bottle of magic potion from under his pillow.

His complexion only eased slightly after he had drunk it all.

"Master…Master, Argus is not trustworthy. Why…why did you reveal your identity to him?"

"What if he tells Dumbledore..."

"No way!" Voldemort said with absolute certainty and confidence.

"He's a smart man. I knew from the first moment I saw him that he wouldn't be content with the status quo."

"Dumbledore could not trust a Grindelwald, just as Grindelwald would never cooperate with Dumbledore."

"It's easier for a newcomer to act than for someone who's already under suspicion."

"My disciple has inherited his father's talent for controlling people's hearts. With just a few tricks, he can entice countless people to take the risk on the third floor."

"But we… don't have the means to control him…" Quirrell was still a little uneasy.

Perhaps because Voldemort had achieved his goal and was in a good mood, Quirrell's questioning was not punished as usual.

"Do you think the notes I gave him were really that simple?"

"I've said it before, he's a smart man, and the biggest weakness of a smart man is his overconfidence!"

"The corrupting influence of Dark Arts is something a newly enrolled wizard like him cannot withstand..."

...

Back in his dorm, Argus heard a system notification in his head.

[Congratulations, host, on becoming Voldemort's disciple and obtaining the achievement: The Legacy of the Death Eaters]

[Achievement Points Reward: 100]

[Congratulations, host, for receiving guidance from Voldemort and Grindelwald, and achieving the achievement: The Future Dark Lord]

[Achievement Points Reward: 200]

[Congratulations, host, on becoming the successor of the Death Eaters and acolytes, and you have obtained the achievement: The Fear That Sweeps the Wizarding World]

[Achievement Points Reward: 200]

[Current remaining achievement points: 600]

"600 points is quite a lot, I can do a five-pull!"

"System, I want to participate in the lottery!"

The familiar card pack appeared; he randomly opened a few.

Accompanied by dazzling lights under a blue sky and white clouds.

A purple light slowly appeared.

[Congratulations, host, you have obtained: Reparo (Level 2), Densaugeo (Level 3), Ventus (Level 2), Finite Incantatem (Level 3)]

[Congratulations, host, you have obtained: Transfiguration (Level 5)]

"Wow! They've given out quite a lot of good stuff this time!"

Argus never expected that his casual draw would produce such a complex spell as Finite Incantatem.

Back then, the fire that killed his father in Paris was stopped by Nicolas Flamel and a large group of people using Finite Incantatem.

Finite Incantatem could counter most spells, and even Dark Arts, with overwhelming power.

Transfiguration goes without saying; it's something almost every wizard relies on from the moment they come into contact with magic until their death.

It seems simple, but it's actually easy to learn but difficult to master.

In real combat, true masters of transfiguration are extremely difficult to deal with; their bizarre transformations can even turn every piece of clothing and every thread on your body into a weapon.

Calling it purple wouldn't be an exaggeration; it's comparable to most gold rewards!

"We've hit the jackpot! This is a huge windfall!"

[Current remaining achievement points: 100]

[Host has been detected to have mastered some spells. Do you wish to fuse them?]

"Merge!"

With magical knowledge integrated into his mind, Argus seemed to transform into a series of magical masters, personally experiencing every step of their learning and research into magic.

[The host possesses exceptional talent, having attained super-magic comprehension.]

[Reparo (Level 3), Densaugeo (Level 4)]

Argus took out his wand and pointed it at the table not far away.

As magic surged, the wooden table gradually transformed into an iron basin.

The iron basin floated up and slammed to the ground with a clanging sound.

A smile appeared in Argus's eyes.

"The fundamental transfiguration is finally complete."
