Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 Basic Herbalism

Dratini and Snover sat around the table, happily enjoying lunch.

Draconis, meanwhile, opened his tech panel to check the technologies he could currently unlock.

There are currently four technology paths in the Agricultural Age.

[Gathering (Unlocked)] → Branch 1 [Basic Berry Cultivation (Unlockable)]

→ Branch 2 [Basic Herbalism (Unlockable)]

[Animal Husbandry (Unlockable)] → [Basic Processing (Unlocks some basic agricultural and sideline product processing recipes)]

[Fishing (Unlockable)] → [Basic Shipbuilding (Unlocks some basic boat manufacturing methods)]

[Mining (Unlockable)] → [Basic Ore Theory (Unlocks some ore smelting methods)]

The panel displayed a dense array of technologies. The initial Agricultural Age was fine, but later on, almost every path had many branches.

However, to unlock them, previous technologies had to be unlocked first.

Further down, Draconis even saw unique black technologies from the Pokémon world such as [Poké Ball Teleportation Technology], [Fossil Revival Technology], and [Genetic Cloning Technology].

However, the exchange points for these technologies were as high as millions of satisfaction points.

"...I'll probably die of exhaustion before I can unlock them all," Draconis couldn't help but grumble.

But for now, the most important thing was to unlock a technology that would benefit the territory.

Draconis redirected his gaze to the row of technologies on the far left.

However, when he saw "Unlocked" displayed next to [Gathering], he was momentarily stunned.

When did he unlock Gathering?

No, that's not right... Recalling the situation in the territory these past few days, Draconis suddenly understood.

If the residents of the territory completed a certain progression on their own, the corresponding technology would automatically unlock!

And it was his previous order for residents to gather berries that led to the unlocking of this technology.

"Good, that saves me a lot of time."

Draconis's gaze fell on the several unlockable technologies that followed.

[Basic Berry Cultivation: Unlocks cultivation methods and processes for Oran Berry, Cheri Berry, Pecha Berry, Sitrus Berry, and other berries. Required for exchange: 200 Satisfaction Points.]

"Berries..." Draconis fell into deep thought.

Berries are unique resources of the Pokémon world, similar in appearance to ordinary fruits, but they are far more nutritious than ordinary fruits and possess various magical powers.

Healing, detoxifying, treating burns and frostbite, and some berries can even restore the energy within a Pokémon, which is commonly known as PP in games.

However, there are currently no berry trees planted in the territory, and this technology isn't of much use at the moment.

Because according to the original owner's memory, humans in this world have already mastered berry cultivation, so using it here would be a bit of a waste.

However, later in this branch, there are two technologies that are very important for Pokémon: [Pokéblock Crafting] and [Poffin Crafting].

"I can wait for the residents to find berries in the wild and let it unlock automatically, which would save 200 satisfaction points," Draconis was very thrifty.

Draconis also wouldn't consider [Animal Husbandry] and [Fishing] for now, as the number of Pokémon in the territory is currently very small.

Even if he unlocked them in advance, he wouldn't have living "Miltank," "Gogoat," or "Wooloo" for him to raise.

It was a case of a clever housewife being unable to cook without rice.

As for mining technology... no ore veins have been discovered near this territory yet, so even if unlocked, it wouldn't be put to use.

Therefore, the most practical option at present was the second branch of [Gathering], [Basic Herbalism].

With it, the territory could use herbs to concoct Potions to help heal Pokémon.

Pokémon living in this territory would no longer have to worry about being injured and unable to receive timely treatment.

And the cultivation of Dratini could also officially begin.

"Exchange!"

Along with the deduction of 200 satisfaction points, the next second, some herbal recipes and steps automatically appeared in Draconis's mind.

[Potion], [Super Potion], [Antidote], [Burn Heal], [Awakening ]... Draconis carefully browsed through them, then took out a piece of parchment, dipped a quill in ink, and recorded these Potion recipes.

"Alfred, give this to Lila." Draconis handed the parchment to Alfred.

Lila, the only physician currently in the territory. It's important to know that these Potions are effective not only for Pokémon but also for humans.

The weather was cold, and Draconis had noticed earlier that many Commoners in the territory already had frostbite and chilblains on their hands, faces, and ears.

These Potions should come in handy.

Alfred reached out and took it, responding, "Yes, Your Highness Draconis!"

Alfred turned and left, and Snover and Dratini had also finished their meal.

The people in the territory had mixed reactions to the addition of the three Snover.

Some were still full of fear towards magical beasts, but others found Snover, a magical beast that wouldn't harm people and would even share the berries on its body, very wondrous.

Many people became curious about Snover.

In the afternoon, when Snover were playing outside, many people curiously gathered nearby to watch.

The younger children, just like in the morning, ran over to play with Snover.

Draconis, with his sharp eyes, noticed that one boy secretly pulled out a few biscuits from his pocket and gave them to Snover.

It was obvious that those biscuits were secretly taken from his home.

The crowd watched for a while, and seeing that Snover truly posed no threat, they gradually went back to work.

Trees needed to be cut, wooden houses needed to be built. To survive this cold winter, everyone had to work hard.

Draconis was no exception.

The Snover stayed in the camp to look after the children, while he, Dratini, and the farmers went to the barren land chosen that morning to be used as farmland.

This time, Draconis didn't let Dratini hide in his clothes but brought it out.

The cold wind swept by, and Dratini shivered from the cold, even getting a runny nose.

"Wuu..." It's so cold... Dratini almost wanted to give up.

But when it saw Draconis also getting a runny nose from the cold wind, it couldn't help but hesitate.

"Wuu..."

A moment later, Dratini sniffed and regained its spirit.

Draconis was facing it with her; it couldn't back down!

"Are you ready, Dratini?" Draconis asked, looking at her Pokémon.

"Wuu!" Dratini responded earnestly.

"Good, then let's officially begin training!" Draconis nodded with satisfaction: "Your task this afternoon is to use Twister twenty times on that large rock!"

Twister was Dratini's only attack method at the moment, but perhaps because it had always lived in the palace before and didn't need to battle, Dratini's proficiency with Twister was very low, and its power was also very limited.

In this era, human development of Pokémon was very limited, the Trainer system had not yet formed, and Pokémon relied more on instinct to battle.

The original owner's memories contained relevant fragments.

For example, in large-scale legion battles, both humans and Pokémon would wear armor and engage in close combat with their opponents, almost never using moves.

So, the most important thing right now was to have Dratini improve its proficiency with Twister, and at the same time, train its control over its internal energy.

"Ability... Dark-type... Moves..."

Under a large tree in the territory, Anna sat with Zorua, carefully reading the parchment that His Highness Draconis had given her.

But she pondered for a long time and still couldn't understand the meaning of these terms.

Anna couldn't help but feel discouraged. She couldn't resist asking, "Ah ah ah! It's so hard! Zorua, do you know what this [Extrasensory] means?"

"Wuu?" Extrasensory?

Zorua blinked.

The next second, Anna saw a faint blue light emanating from Zorua's eyes.

An invisible force, imperceptible to the naked eye, quietly condensed and then, under Zorua's control, blasted towards a large rock nearby.

"Boom!"

A violent explosion sounded, and the large rock actually split right down the middle, breaking into two halves.

"Ah!" Anna couldn't help but let out a cry of surprise, instantly freezing in place.

The blue light in Zorua's eyes disappeared.

Even Anna, as slow as she was, realized something at this moment.

She looked at Zorua in disbelief and asked, "Zorua, that rock... you broke it?"

"Wuu~!"

Zorua gave an affirmative answer.

"So... so strong!"

After a brief moment of stunned silence, Anna's eyes suddenly lit up.

Her little magical beast was truly amazing!

Wait!

It was at this moment that Anna finally, belatedly, realized something.

She quickly opened the parchment, looked at the little magical beast, and tentatively asked, "Was that... Extrasensory just now?"

"Wuu!"

Zorua nodded its small head.

"No, no, no way?!"

Could what was recorded on this be the power that the little magical beast could use? Or was it the moves it mastered?

Anna was incredibly shocked. To verify, she randomly found another name on the parchment.

"Fury Swipes?"

A white light surged from Zorua's claws, and it began to continuously swipe forward, attacking.

Anna was completely stunned.
