The onlookers gasped. Alya, phone clutched tight, was momentarily frozen, her journalistic instinct to document warring with a primal fear.
Nino's eyes widened, a loud exclamation escaping him, "Whoa, he changed his armor like a video game character!"
Juleka, usually withdrawn, watched the jagged, sharp-edged plates with a hushed awe, murmuring, "It's aggressive, but… beautiful."
Even Chloé, mid-complaint about the scattered batter, fell silent, her usual indignation replaced by a flicker of stunned surprise.
Ladybug and Cat Noir, mid-grapple with the Dodo Magia, paused, their respective weapons lowering just enough to register the new, imposing figure that had entered the fray. The visual shift was jarring, a stark departure from Gavv's previous form, and it commanded everyone's attention.
The concept of "powering up" or changing forms was something entirely new in this world. Neither Ladybug nor Cat Noir possessed such a direct visual transformation beyond their initial henshin. Their abilities were consistent, their tools fixed. For Kamen Rider Gavv to seemingly shed his entire combat persona and re-emerge as something entirely different, something so visually striking and mechanically defined, broke the established rules of their shared reality. It was a spectacle that bypassed their tactical understanding and hit them on a purely visual, awe-inspiring level.
Gavv didn't offer pleasantries or introductions. He launched himself forward, the Zakuzakuchipslashers already a blur in his hands. The jagged blades met the Dodo Magia's crimson and silver armor with a series of sharp, percussive chinks. Jazik, now in this new form, felt the distinct difference immediately. A direct smash against the Magia's dense plating would cause his chip-blades to shatter—a momentary weakness he couldn't afford. Instead, he adapted, channeling his movements into precise, wavy slashes that found the seams and softer points in the Dodo's chassis. He realized the utility of this form wasn't about brute force, but about precision and a surprising, resilient durability. When the Dodo retaliated, a sweeping saber strike catching his arm, the chip-blade on his forearm snapped clean off. Yet, before panic could set in, a shimmer of yellow energy pulsed, and a new blade, identical to the one lost, reformed in its place. It was a controlled regeneration, a tactical advantage that allowed him to press the attack, forcing the Dodo Magia onto the defensive. Its own Buaruku Sabers, once so swift and deadly, now met Gavv's relentless, regenerating onslaught with a desperate parry.
Seeing Gavv engage the Dodo Magia with such unexpected ferocity, Ladybug and Cat Noir didn't hesitate. Ladybug's yo-yo whipped out, a scarlet blur that wrapped around the Magia's digitigrade legs, momentarily disrupting its stance. Cat Noir, seizing the opening, used his staff to vault over the charging monster, landing a precise strike on its armored back. Gavv, in turn, used their combined pressure to his advantage. He unleashed a rapid flurry of slashes, the Zakuzakuchips' sharp edges carving shallow grooves into the Magia's frame. The combined assault pushed the Dodo Magia back, step by agonizing step. When the Magia attempted to fire its beam-like energy slashes, Gavv instinctively moved, positioning his jagged, chip-armored body to shield Ladybug and Cat Noir. The plates on his arms and chest flared, dispersing the energy with a shower of harmless yellow sparks. The Dodo's combat algorithm, designed to prioritize and neutralize single threats, struggled to cope with the multi-pronged, varied assault.
The dynamic had shifted irrevocably. With Gavv now acting as a surprisingly resilient vanguard and shield, Ladybug and Cat Noir could refocus on support and flanking maneuvers. The Magia's rigid programming, built for predictable human opponents, was ill-equipped to handle this new, adaptable Rider. It was a chaotic, yet somehow coordinated, push that slowly, surely, began to overwhelm their monstrous adversary.
Ladybug, seeing the Dodo momentarily overwhelmed, recognized her chance. She flung her yo-yo upward.
"Lucky Charm!"
A swirl of pink light blossomed, coalescing into a mundane object. A simple wooden rolling pin dropped into her waiting hands. She blinked, a flicker of confusion crossing her face, but her eyes quickly scanned their surroundings. The Dodo Magia, despite the heroes' combined efforts, was already preparing a sweeping, heavy-bladed counter-attack. Ladybug, without hesitation, hurled the rolling pin. It wasn't aimed at the Dodo itself, but at a loose, heavy light fixture bolted precariously to the ceiling directly above the Magia. The rolling pin struck the release latch with a sharp clack. The fixture groaned, then plummeted.
CRASH
It landed squarely on the Dodo's shoulders, pinning its specialized weapon-arms. The Magia roared in digital frustration, immobilized beneath the heavy, twisted metal.
With the Dodo Magia momentarily pinned and disarmed, Cat Noir saw his window of opportunity. He launched himself into the air, a dark, crackling energy gathering around his outstretched hand.
"Cataclysm!"
He slammed his palm onto the Dodo's Buaruku Sabers, which were still partially caught beneath the light fixture. The blades glowed with black static for a moment. Then, with a sound like grinding rust, they crumbled into a cascade of dust. The Dodo thrashed, left weaponless and struggling under the unexpected weight. Cat Noir landed lightly next to Ladybug, offering her a thumbs-up and a wide, confident grin.
Jazik saw the opportunity clearly. He stepped back from the pinned Magia, his Zakuzakuchipslashers glowing with an intense yellow energy. A digital energy gauge, like a progress bar in a video game, materialized in his vision, filling with power. The Gavv organ on his waist opened wide, its blue lips peeling back to reveal hungry teeth.
[CHARGE ME! CHARGE ME!]
He thrust the blades of the Zakuzakuchipslashers into the Gavv organ, feeding the raw energy into it.
[ZAKU ZAKU CHIPS! FINISH!]
Gavv pulled the blades free. They were no longer mere weapons; they had become massive constructs of shimmering yellow energy. He spun, initiating a rapid flurry of strikes that created a literal tornado of jagged energy slashes. The golden vortex of cutting power engulfed the Dodo Magia completely. The slashes tore through the Magia's crimson and silver armor, shattering it piece by piece.
EXPLOSION
The Dodo Magia's core flashed a final, frantic red. With a concussive crack, it exploded, scattering shards of crimson armor and sparking wires across the hallway floor. The digital screech died instantly, leaving only the ringing in the students' ears and the smell of ozone.
Gavv stood amidst the settling smoke, his blue and magenta armor gleaming under the fluorescent lights. The Gavv organ on his abdomen opened wide, its blue lips parting to reveal the dark cavity within. A vacuum force pulled the scattered mechanical remains of the Magia inward, consuming the debris with a wet slurp.
The silence that followed was heavy, broken only by a single clap.
Alya started it, her hands coming together sharply, a wide grin spreading across her face. Nino joined in a second later, whooping loudly. "Now that's what I call a finisher!" he shouted.
The dam broke. The hallway erupted in applause. Juleka and Rose, clutching each other in the doorway, offered shy, relieved smiles. Alix crossed her arms, a smirk tugging at her lips as she nodded approvingly at the display of power. Kim gave a thumbs-up, while Max adjusted his glasses, muttering something about "efficient energy dispersal."
Even Max offered a quiet, "Tactically sound."
Only Chloé stood in stunned silence, her mouth slightly open, unable to find a complaint for once. Beside her, Sabrina held her phone up, recording the hero's stance. In the background, Nathaniel was already sketching furiously in his notebook, capturing the Rider's silhouette.
The hallway was filled with the sound of applause for the three heroes.
The Dodo Magia lunged. Gavv pivoted, his gummy armor stretching to absorb the kinetic force of the blow. He countered with a rapid-fire volley of punches, the impacts sounding like wet thuds against the Magia's crimson chassis.
Ladybug and Cat Noir synchronized their movements. They didn't speak; they didn't need to. Years of training and instinct took over. They moved like a single organism, a blur of red and black against the stark white of the classroom wall.
"Pound it!" they shouted in unison.
Their fists collided, sending a shockwave of red and black energy cascading through the room. The Dodo Magia skidded back, its talons carving grooves into the linoleum.
Gavv raised his hand, ready to deliver the final blow. He hesitated, his golden visor scanning the two heroes. He could leave. He should leave. The mission was complete.
He turned toward the shattered window.
"Wait!" Ladybug called out, her yo-yo string retracting with a snap.
Gavv stopped but did not turn around.
Cat Noir stepped forward, his staff extending to block the exit. "Hold on a second, mystery guy. We need to talk about that robot."
Gavv looked over his shoulder, his voice filtered through the helmet's synthesized growl. "The less you know about that robot, the better. If you get involved, you'll be in danger."
He pointed a finger at the unconscious Dodo Magia. "That thing... its appearance is my fault. It's hunting me."
"We can help," Ladybug insisted, stepping closer. "If it's a threat to Paris—"
"It's a threat to me," Gavv cut her off, his tone sharp with finality. "I am thankful for your assistance just now. Truly. But stay away from this. Keep stopping the Akumas. That is your job."
He walked toward the window, the jagged glass parting before him as if afraid of his gummy armor.
"If you keep poking," he added, his voice dropping lower, "you won't just be targets. You'll become liabilities."
Without another word, Gavv leaped through the opening, vanishing into the Parisian skyline.
