Chapter 17 - Worcestershire Not the Sauce

Our third fight was lined up with Worcestershire Academy known to have the most tank beast masters as a class. The world's best tanks all came from Worcestershire Academy throughout our known history. Their academy colors were black and brown and the emblem was a simple powerful looking fist. The whole group of six had a shield as a part of their equipment.

They had multiple nature tanks of course, a turtle similar to Tim but had a black shell, a polar bear and a grizzly bear. Then they had a fire crocodile and an earth rhino with the last being a water cobra. The water cobra was their healer and they made a formation with the cobra in the middle. The beasts were summoned and they were all together in the formation making a tight circle around the healer.

It was the first time we had seen a formation before the fight began. We finished our chants and the countdown began its final three second announcement. Then word fight sounded and no one moved. For a few seconds we all just stood there waiting for something to happen, we were all so used to being attacked by the other that neither attacked to begin and Adam who was our initial sneak attack had no chance to do so.

I broke the silence and shot a firewall at the feet of the front line just to scare them to move. I then shot an icewall to one side and an earthwall on the other just to mess with them. I would imagine most aren't expecting someone to fire their shots and miss a massive group just to then see a massive wall emerge. I knew it did nothing but distract them at most, I just wanted to get someone to do something knowing they most likely would block any attack I directly sent at them.

'Travis give me a wall to stand behind as close to them as possible.' Abby spoke to us through the panda tribe spell.

Travis advanced forward and set up his turtle wall as close to the black and brown group as they started to brace themselves expecting an attack. Abby then for the time summoned her new ability lightning storm and stood behind the wall while the lightning bolts came crashing down. She had learned how to focus them to be in a ten yard area anywhere within 20 yards of her or she could just let it cast on herself. The cost to concentrate on its location is why she asked for the shield.

I told Wispy to keep any and all attacks off of Abby at all costs while she unloaded her lightning storm onto the group. The five tanks all dispersed outward away from the storm but the water snake beast master wasn't quick enough and was struck multiple times knocking it out of the fight on the third strike to make contact. All of the other beast masters had suffered a hit at minimum and were now completely out of order and no longer in formation.

Adam saw the opportunity and blinked behind the polar bear beast master who was the furthest away by himself. He pulled out his katana in one motion swinging it through the middle of the beast master then pulled the katana back into its sheath in one quick movement as if he had done it a million times. The beast master was ejected out of the arena before he even knew what happened. Adam stood there with a smile on his face that told the world they were in trouble.

Dante wasn't summoned as Adam had figured out that keeping Dante inside he could blink more and further so as soon as the polar bear beast master was removed and his sinister look registered to me at least, he then blinked to the fire crocodile beast and in a quick motion of removing the sword and stabbing downward into the skull of the beast it turned to golden light and returned to the beast master kicking him out of the arena.

Abby stopped casting her lightning storm and pulled out her saber to interact with the earth rhino beast master who charged at her after rolling out of the storm's way and being at the edge of Tim's turtle shell. The beast master had a scimitar sword and clashed with Abby back and forth. The rhino summoned to the side and went to charge into Abby when suddenly Lacy, her lightning wolf, intercepted the rhino. The rhino was knocked off its course and ran into its beast master but instead of affecting the beast master it melded and the beast master's build grew as a horn emerged from his head. His sword swings became much more powerful going through Abby's defensive positions getting cuts through the armor in.

Maddy healed her best friend and I sent an arcane barrier to block the next attack for Abby so she could regain her composure and figure out how to attack the rhino better. The block from the barrier was the opening she needed and her saber struck true to the underside of the armpit and the beast master was ejected out of the arena.

The grizzly bear and its beast master had taken out Joey in the commotion and I honestly didn't see how. He later told me that Po thought his upgrade of strength from our upgraded armor meant he could lift a grizzly bear off the ground which didn't happen at all, the bear ate Po kicking him out of the arena. They were engaged with Travis when I had focused on him.

The bear was about to chomp off the head of Tim when Wispy sent an arcane barrier just in time to stop the maw of the beast from clamping down. The arcane missiles I sent myself made contact with the bear as it was reeling from its maw being stopped then being hit by multiple missiles caused it to stumble and roar. I sent an icespike arrow that hit him right in the head causing the golden light to emerge and the beast master to be kicked out of the arena.

The turtle beast master was all that was left and seeing it was five on one he yielded. With that win we were told that we would be done till the tournament started. They did a round robin with four divisions. The top two from each division would advance to the tournament and we were the top from our group. We were told we would be facing the second place of a different group.

We had the next three days off while the other divisions went as there were ten grades of four divisions to be fought in one arena. The round robin was the only day we would fight multiple battles. The rest of the tournament was once a day which was a part of making it tougher was how quickly you could recover to continue to fight at a high level to advance to the tournament was what they preached to us at least.
