Chapter 2 - Interviews and Meditations

All the Fentons were standing in front of the front door. "Okay Danno, I know that we agreed to have the Ectopi stay here with us but remember that they cannot reveal themselves to anyone but your friends." Jack reminded his son, not getting the ghostly octopi away from his kid. "They need to be invisible and by your side at all times''

-

Danny nodded his assurance. "They haven't disobeyed me once since we became friends." He told his parents. "They even behaved when Dash tried shoving me in my locker." He froze when he said that, never letting his parents know about the bullying before.

-

Both the Fenton parents narrowed their eyes at that. Jazz looked worried for her little brother. She knew of the bullying and tried to get him to tell their parents multiple times. 'Maybe these Ectopi will be good for him if they help him talk about his problems. Albeit indirectly.' Jazz thought to herself.

-

A knock stopped the Fenton Parents from talking about the locker incident. Danny went to open the door, his ectopi already invisible, to find Kim there. She offered to have her father drive them to school early so Danny could try to talk to Sidney Poindexter. Danny didn't know what reason she told her father to do this. He could see Tucker, Sam, and Ron in the car behind Kim.

-

"Are you ready to go?" Kim asked, excited to possibly interview a real life ghost. She told her father that she and her friends needed to do some research at the school. She didn't mention what kind of research yet, deciding not to tell her mother yet, wanting to make a foolproof plan so her mother didn't think the Fenton's were crazy. "I didn't tell my parents about the ghosts yet. I didn't know how they would take the paranormal being real. Even if she was friends with a paranormal Scientist." She told the Fenton's before her.

-

"She was there when we had the proto-portal working. Your mother may not have seen ghosts, but she knows about Ectoplasm." Maddie explained to her friend's daughter. "You should invite them here for dinner this weekend." She offered with a smile. "We could tell them then."

-

"I'm sure they would appreciate that. I apologize ahead of time for the tweebs." Kim told them, smiling at the idea of having dinner with Danny.

-

"Tweebs?" Danny questioned, confused at the term. He had never heard of it before.

-

"Twin. Dweebs." Kim raised her thumb and index finger, counting the words. "It's the word I use for my twin brothers." She explained to her raven-haired friend.

-

Danny nodded and the Ectopi repeated the word to themselves in English. Danny and Kim got to the car and the group was talking about homework. "If you want, since we each have at least one class with each other, maybe we could collect homework for you two if you happen to be on a mission." Danny offered and Tucker and Sam nodded at that. Sam gave up on her suspicion of her new friends, at least Ron. She still didn't seem to like Kim for whatever reason.

-

"Yeah, but don't expect us to do it for you." Tucker said, jokingly stern at both of the global heroes in the car.

-

"Aw, man." Ron said upset but quickly started to laugh. "Kim doesn't need that at all. Though, could I ask you to help tutor me?" The blond boy asked the techno geek. Tucker gave a nod and a thumbs up for his new friend.

-

"Yeah, I might not be as much of a genius as the rest of my family, but I certainly don't need anyone to do my work for me. Being a hero is reliant on that." She explained, a little annoyed at the accusation, but knowing that it was a joke dispersed it easily.

-

"Yes, it is, young lady." Mr. Dr. Possible piped in the conversation. "Thankfully you are taking an initiative, so you don't have to worry about not being a hero anymore." He praised Kim. "I am surprised that you two met though. It was a surprise hearing that Kim met Maddie's son on the first day of school." James said to the kids in the car. "Seems like quite the coincidence, doesn't it?"

-

"I don't know if it was a coincidence, but I do appreciate it. I do not like spending time in a locker" Danny said, not realizing he just admitted to his bullying again. "Kim seems to be a hero 100% of the time." He told her father.

-

"You should tell a teacher, if you're getting shoved in lockers." James Possible told his daughter's raven-haired friend.

-

"The teachers allow it because he's already the star quarterback." Sam informed Kim's father. "They don't give him detention or punish him at all because they want him to win football games." She explained.

-

"Don't do anything about it Mr. Dr. P." Ron warned him. "That will just enrage the bullies and have them go worse on unsuspecting people. Don't want that, do you?" Ron asked with a raised eyebrow, knowing Kim's father wouldn't let innocent losers be hurt by what he did.

-

"I promise that I won't do anything immediately. I'll have to talk with Danny's and the other victims' parents." Mr. Dr. P. assured the group of teens in his car as he pulled up to the school.

-

"Speaking of Mrs. Fenton, she invited us to dinner sometime this weekend. Can we?" Kim asked her father about dinner at Danny's place, hoping they could. Kim wanted to show her parents the cute Ectopi that are invisible on Danny's shoulders.

-

All of the kids got out of the car at the school. "I'll have to talk with your mother, but sure Kimmy-cub. We can try, we'll let you know tonight after we both get off work." James told his daughter.

-

"Got it dad." She smiled as she hugged her father goodbye. She really wanted this to happen. 'Maybe I should text my mother first?' She thought to herself.

-

There were very few kids standing outside the school at this time. The front doors were open, and Danny's group headed inside to his locker. "Sidney? Are you there?" Danny asked in Gholric to the friendly ghost. "The redhead and blond don't know about my powers or that I'm half ghost."

-

Sidney phased into the visible spectrum. "I still don't know how a human can do that." Sidney acted really well in Danny's opinion. "Follow me so there won't be cameras looking at us." Sidney started to float away from them, and they followed him to the same corridor that Danny used to transform yesterday.

-

"Yeah, even my family could talk to my Ectopi." Danny told the gray ghost, whose eyes widened almost comically.

-

"It's rare for a human ghost to speak Gholric. I don't even know how rare it is for a whole family of humans to speak it." If Sidney was astonished at Danny being able to speak Gholric yesterday, he was in awe at hearing that Danny's family could speak it.

-

"My mom has a theory that it has to do with exposure to large amounts of ectoplasm while you're alive to speak it when dead." Danny started to explain. "We think the reason we can speak Gholric while alive is because people haven't encountered a ghost that would talk to them before." Danny gave his ectopi some water and some grapes each. "That and nobody really encounters ectoplasm while they're alive." Danny finished as the ectopi finished their snack.

-

"That makes sense. I know I didn't have any interactions with ghosts or ectoplasm while alive." Sidney muttered to himself. "Anyways, what's their names?" He asked, pointing at the ectopi.

-

Danny blinked, not thinking of asking their names before. "What are your names?" He asked both of them in Gholric.

-

"None. Give us." They said in unison, excited at the prospect of names.

-

"Okay, um, what to name two octopi?" Danny asked himself. He looked at his friend, who shrugged at him "How about Charybdis, and Scylla?" He asked, pointing at each of his Ectopi. They seemed happy and glowed. Danny felt a slight tugging in his chest. When the glow subsided, the tugging stopped and Danny's head seemed clearer, and the Ectopi, now Charybdis and Scylla, grew a lot after the naming. Everyone looked at Sidney to know what just happened, but he was as confused as the others. "Any chance you two could shrink back down to your original size? It would be hard to stay with me if you're that size." Danny informed his two giant Ectopi, who shrunk to even smaller than before.

-

"Is this better Danny? '' The Ectopi with golden eyes asked. "Yeah, is it?" The Ectopi with silver eyes asked after as they went to Danny's shoulders.

-

"Yes, this is much easier to hide you and it's a lot easier on my shoulders if you're this size." Danny told them, not acknowledging that they were talking in full sentences. "Now, how about you re-introduce yourselves to everyone here so they can tell the difference." He informed the ghostly octopi. A blue mist rose from his mouth and a chill raised through his spine.

-

"Beware! I am the Box Ghost!" An unfamiliar voice sounded from below them as a blue-skinned ghost in purple overalls came up from the floor, phasing a couple boxes behind them.

-

"Can I ask why we should 'Beware' you?" Danny asked, hoping this was not a bad ghost. He noticed that the Box Ghost had boxes of broken glass beakers for disposal.

-

"Because I control all that is paper and square, as well as the contents within." He declared as the boxes were opened and the broken glass started to circle him, along with the boxes. "I will teach you to fear the name Box Ghost."

-

Danny was debating with himself whether or not he should reveal his ghostly secret, when Charybdis flew towards the Box Ghost, and grew while they did. Scylla was floating between the blue ghost and Danny's friends. Charybdis was squeezing the Box Ghost, looking at Danny. "What do you want me to do?" Charybdis asked, holding up the ghost in their glowing tentacles.

-

"Loosen your tentacles a bit first, I would like to talk to him first." Danny told Charybdis, looking at Scylla and seeing that they were hiding him from all his friends by completely blocking off the hallway. Danny transformed into his ghostly form, shocking the Box Ghost. "Would you be willing to put back the boxes and go on your way?" He asked the captured ghost.

-

"Never!" The Box Ghost yelled in a shaky voice.

-

"Try using that thermos your dad gave you yesterday if he doesn't want to talk." Tucker yelled past Scylla.

-

"Good idea Tuck." Danny pulled out the Fenton Thermos from his bag. "Hey Sidney, can you spare some Ectoplasm for the capture device?" Danny held his hand up as he asked.

-

Sidney understood right away that they were acting. "Sure, I really hate bullies in my school."

-

Danny focused hard on putting some Ectoplasm into the cylindrical device, the thermos whirred to life with very little. "Okay, thanks Sid, that's enough." Still acting as if Danny was still human.

-

"No problemo chum." Sidney was smiling, he was having some real fun with this halfa.

-

"Okay, Charybdis, I need you to toss the Box Ghost in front of me, so you don't get caught as well." Danny told his golden-eyed Ectopi, who did exactly as they were told. Danny pressed the button on the side and a vacuum of blue and white light shot out of the thermos, enveloping the Box Ghost and pulling him in. Danny placed the cap back and turned back into a human.

-

"Yay we won!" Both Charybdis and Scylla said in unison and in Gholric. Both shrinking and flying to Danny's shoulders.

-

"Awesome work dude!" Ron clapped Danny on his back. "What happens now?" He asked, looking at the thermos.

-

"Yeah, you three are the ghost 'hunters' here." Kim said, putting air quotes on 'hunters'. "I know you haven't hurt any ghosts you met until now. Do we just wait until we get back to the lab? Or are you going to send Charybdis or Scylla to send the thermos for your parents to deal with?" Kim asked, knowing he probably won't want to purposefully separate from either ectopi.

-

"We wait. I don't trust my parents with a hostile ghost yet." Danny shook his head. "I'm afraid that they'll vivisect them."

-

"Is vivisect the right word?" Sam asked, raising an eyebrow at her friend.

-

"Dissection is cutting up an immobile corpse. Vivisection is cutting us a living creature that moves." Danny defended his choice. Danny heard people coming where the group was. "Hey, Sid. Can we interview you on the roof during lunch? My parents wanted me to ask because you are the first ghost human I have met." When he got an affirmation, Sidney and the Ectopi phased out of the visible spectrum just as people were passing the hall the group was in.

-

"We should go to our lockers." Kim told everyone and they started walking. "Danny, since we were already at your locker, you can come to mine. Do you think it would be ok for Wade to scan either Scylla or Charybdis, so they won't interfere with my Kimmunicator?" She asked, knowing that his parents told him that he shouldn't tell more people than necessary.

-

"As long as he promises to keep them a secret and doesn't let my parents know I told him yet. I probably wouldn't have risked it at their original size, not wanting a random student or teacher to see them, but now they're tiny and can be hidden easier." Danny agreed and went to Kim's locker to get them scanned. He was a little nervous, being at a girl's locker, but Kim's locker just had books and a computer inside.

-

A heavy set African American child in a blue shirt popped on the screen. "Okay Wade, I brought what was making the interference yesterday. They are allowing you to scan them, but you have to keep this top secret. They don't want just anybody to know about them." Kim told the kid in charge of her website, who nodded.

-

"Got it Kim." Wade told his redheaded friend. He started clicking on his keyboard and a prehensile eye cable protruded from the top of the computer screen. Charybdis flew up first, got scanned and Scylla followed soon after. Two different signatures popped up on Kim's computer, one slightly different to the other.

-

Danny noticed the differences. "Hey Wade, if you needed to, could you track these signatures?" Danny asked Kim's computer kid. 'This could be a good way to catalog ghosts that I encounter.' Danny thought to himself.

-

"Yeah. That should be easy. They seem quite unique. I could probably use these signatures to track the basic energy that all these ghosts have." Wade smirked. "Even if they change shape or form." He said in a knowing tone.

-

Danny didn't like how Wade said that. 'Did he have cameras in the hallway I transformed in? No, I think Sid would know if that was the case.' Danny's thoughts raced.

-

"Though I doubt we need to worry about that yet." He waved it off.

-

That sentence, and his Ectopi stroking his back, calmed him down. "We should probably get to class now." Danny told Kim, hefting his books in his arms.

-

"Actually I need Kim. I found the lair where the schematics for the robot tick was taken to." Wade told the redhead superhero

-

"On it Wade, text Ron and I'm on my way." Kim closed her locker. "You still up for getting me any of the homework I miss out on?" She asked

Danny, who nodded his head and started texting Tucker and Sam. "You rock." She told him.

=

Kim and Ron made it back just in time for lunch, although they did stop to get some lunch for everyone since they had an interview on the roof. Charybdis and Scylla wrapped their tentacles around the group and started to fly up when Wade told them that a ghost showed up in the kitchen.

-

"Okay. We need to deal with that ghost. She's wrecking the kitchens saying that someone changed the menu, Sam." Sidney Poindexter said as he came down from the ceiling, glaring at Sam.

-

"Sam, what did you do?" Danny asked as they started running to the kitchens. "I may not have known Sid that long, but I know he wouldn't single someone out for no reason. And he probably knows what happens in this school?" He asked the ghost in question, receiving a nod in return.

-

"I'm aware of anywhere my mirror is installed." Sidney confirmed.

-

"Ugh, I just wanted the menu to be ultra-recyclo-vegetarian. Meat is Murder you know." Sam told everyone, getting a glare from Danny, Tucker, and Sidney.

-

"No matter who caused it, we gotta take care of it. Right, Kim?" Danny asked the cheerleader as they led the pack of teenage heroes. He knows that he may need to reveal his secret to Kim, Ron, and maybe Wade.

-

"Danny's right guys. No fighting with each other." She yelled back to her friends. She was wondering how Danny was keeping pace with her with his body frame. 'This must have something to do with why Danny freaked at something that Wade said.' Kim thought as they made it to the cafeteria.

-

The cafeteria was in ruins with food and tables strewn everywhere. The cause of the destruction was a large, old green lady dressed in a pink and white lunch lady's uniform.

-

Kim looked around and found no student or teacher here. "Wade, there's no one here other than us and the ghost. Can you-"

-

"Already done Kim." Wade interrupted her. "I thought that you would need the help from the friendly ghosts you have there and didn't want evidence of them on the internet." Wade told her. "Especially if there was a new one that wanted to help but felt restricted by the people around. I erased all the footage from where you all were to the cafeteria." He said with a big smile

-

"Ugh, fine Wade. I was planning on telling them anyway if this ghost proved too tough for everyone plus the ghosts here." Danny told the computer kid, transforming to his ghost form. "None of you better tell my parents yet." He received nods from his new friends, and he sensed sincerity and resolution from them. 'Is this a new power?' Danny thought to himself. He heard a gasp and saw his sister, Jazz, standing in the doorway.

-

"The portal accident." She realized in horror at how this form came to be.

-

"Jazz I'm still who I have always been, we'll talk later, now hide dammit." Danny cursed due to the stress of the situation of his secret being found out by his family.

-

Jazz complied and ran away from the situation

-

Kim leaped at the ghost woman, who phased to avoid her. Sidney's hands glowed and he twirled them around, and at the same time, the Lunch Lady's apron wrapped around her face. Danny focused on putting ectoplasm into his fists, which released a blast of energy when it connected. That seemed to disorient her just enough for Kim to grab the thermos and catch the Lunch Lady. Charybdis and Scylla were guarding the others from harm from the fight at half size each.

-

"Dude, I didn't know you could shoot lasers. Why didn't you show us?" Tucker asked in excitement. Not having seen that before.

-

"Don't know. I just saw Sid put energy in his hands and did the same, but for a physical attack." Danny explained himself, feeling sheepish while doing so.

-

Before conversation could continue, a wall was smashed in. Through the hole revealed a floating platform with two people riding it, one is a man with blue skin, black hair, a scar beneath one of his eyes, and a dark blue lab coat. The other was a woman with green-tinted skin, black hair, and a black and green two-toned jumpsuit. Danny recognized her as Shego from Team GO.

-

"Kim Possible! Give me back my robot tick!" The man yelled at the cheerleader.

-

"Friends of yours?" Danny asked, eyeing Kim.

-

"That is Drakken and Shego. Shego stole plans for a micro drone in the amazon yesterday. Want to help?" Kim asked, not wanting to try and jump all the way up there.

-

"Alright, one moment." Danny closed his eyes and focused energy into his right index finger, aiming it at the platform and blasting it to pieces. The two villains falling to the ground with the debris. After all the debris settled, Danny could hear a faint beeping, finding it coming from Kim's face. He saw what had to be the microdrone. "Kim, stay still for just one second." He told her as he placed one hand cupping her cheek and made her head intangible, but not the drone and one hand to catch the tick falling off of her.

-

"Wh-what was that for" Kim asked flustered at Danny being so close to her.

-

"One moment." Danny flew outside, put energy in his arm, and threw the tick as hard as he could, which was really far apparently. You could barely see the explosion from how far it was. He came back in to find Kim tying up the unconscious villains with zip ties. "Sorry about being so close, I heard the tick activate and decided to get it as far as I could." Danny explained the reason for his behavior. "I really should have asked first. I'm very sorry." He apologized.

-

"No big. I'd much rather have you touching me than exploding." Kim assured Danny that what he did was alright with her. She secretly liked it and hoped it would happen again.

-

All the ghosts went invisible, except Danny, as police came in from the hole in the wall to take the unconscious villains to jail. Danny explained the explosive device and why he threw it away. Danny also explained the ghost fight before the villains showed up. Kim backed him up on that and they seemed more receptive to the idea that ghosts exist.

-

"What should we call you?" One police officer asked Danny.

-

"Uh, you can call me…Phantom? Yeah, Phantom. You can call me Phantom." Danny quickly came up with the name.

-

Kim was holding in her laughter after the Police drove away and Danny flew off to give the look that he wasn't a student there.

-

Danny walked up behind her, as a human, scaring her a little. "You alright, you look like you've seen a ghost?" He asked jokingly.

-

"Maybe a Phantom." She joked back.

-

"I was on the spot! It's close enough to my last name that I know that I can respond to it." Danny defended himself.

=

School let out early, and the group went to the Fenton Household, because they missed lunch and Nasty Burger was overcrowded. Jazz decided to join them to talk about what she saw. Danny tried to make it seem like she was seeing things, but that didn't work on the sisterly redhead.

-

"You just need to promise not to say anything to our parents." Danny told her. When she promised, he transformed back to his ghost form to show it to his intelligent sister. "I've recently started to call this form 'Phantom'. I know it sucks, but it was the only thing I could think of when the police officer asked me what to be called." He explained that and his accident to his sister and friends. Jazz and Kim hugged him, crying into his shoulders. Charybdis and Scylla were stroking the three of their backs to comfort them. After everyone calmed down enough, Danny talked about when he named his ectopi.

-

"Maybe you should do some meditating?" Sam suggested. "I heard that people do it to control and regulate their spiritual energies. Maybe it can also help with ghostly energy?" She explained some techniques she has done or read about that might help Danny.

-

"I'll try them out later tonight. I almost forgot about the interview with Sidney." Danny said getting up and grabbing a piece of paper. "Scylla, can you please send this to Sidney and bring back his response?" Danny asked the silver Ectopi, who eagerly took the letter and flew off as fast as he could. Scylla came back rather quickly and said that Sidney would gladly wait on top of the roof. Danny wrote down some questions, reviewed by his friends, and took off to the school again.

=

Danny landed on the roof after half a minute, finding Sidney waiting for him. "Now Sidney, I'm going to preface this with the fact that I don't have too much time to interview you, and I'm sorry. My parents will be home soon and with what happened at lunch today, they'll expect me home. Ectopi or not. May I just ask you these questions and you tell me your answer as short as you can, tell me to raincheck the question and I'll ask when I have more time, or say that you don't know or that it's a too personal question?" Danny explained to the gray ghost, who nodded.

-

Danny: Is it alright for ghosts to talk about their deaths?

Sidney: Not really. Only really close friends tell each other about their deaths. As a sign of the highest trust.

Danny: Is there any type of Legal System in place?

Sidney: That's a little hard to explain, there is a jail with a warden, but he makes his own laws when they favor him.

Danny: Is there a time difference between worlds?

Sidney: If there is, I don't know about it. My mirror synchronizes with wherever it's installed. You'll need to ask another ghost.

Danny: Can ghosts die?

Sidney: They can if their core is destroyed.

Danny: Are there different types of ghosts?

Sidney: Well, there is human-born and Zone-born, but other than that, I don't know.

Danny: What do ghosts eat, if at all?

Sidney: Are you asking for your Ectopi? Anyways, yes we can. Ghosts can eat just about any human food. Though we prefer ghost foods. I'll see about getting some ghost fruit for Charybdis and Scylla.

Danny: Thank you. Are there any types of royalty?

Sidney: From what I heard, yes. There seems to be several kingdoms in the realms. Though I don't know their names.

Danny: Do you know how ghosts are made?

Sidney: No. No mortal ghost, Human or Zone-born, knows how ghosts are formed. At least, I don't.

Danny: What powers do ghosts have?

Sidney: Flight, Invisibility, and Intangibility are the ones that every ghost has. The more powerful the ghost, the more powers they have. They can be taught sometimes. I can try teaching you my telekinesis, if you'd like?

Danny: I would like that. Thank you. Do you know of any other portals?

Sidney: Kind of? There are natural portals that you have to be careful around. They can open in an instant and close just as fast. I heard that they could take you to different time periods. There are two stable portals that I know of. One is here in Amity, and the other in the area that would be in Wisconsin. That's all I really know.

Danny: Okay, the one in Amity is my parents'. I don't know about the one in Wisconsin. One more question then I'll need to leave. You mentioned something called cores when referring to when ghosts die, what are they?

Sidney: I'm gonna have to rain check that. It's too complicated for me to explain right now.

Danny: Okay, I'll be off then. See you Sid.

=

Danny flew off back to his house, finding all his friends still waiting for him. Tucker and Sam were explaining Doomed! to Ron. Jazz was helping Kim with her homework. They were all startled when Danny phased back into the visible spectrum and transformed back to human. They said they would cover for him while he did the interview.

-

"How was the interview Danny?" Kim asked, "It seemed pretty short." She said, looking at her watch.

-

"I had to make it quick because I didn't want my parents to freak out that I wasn't home after an attack at the school." Danny explained, handing the papers of the interview to Jazz's outstretched hand to look it over. "Speaking of that, don't you all need to go home to reassure your parents?" Danny asked.

-

"Sam and I already called ours and told them we were here. They were fine with it." Tucker assured his half-ghost friend.

-

"Ron and I should probably get going, now that you mention it." Both of them got up and grabbed their bags. "Remember to deal with the two ghosts we caught, and to do the meditations that Sam talked about." Kim reminded her ghostly friend, who assured her that he would. They left the Fenton household.

-

After Sam couldn't see Kim or Ron out of the window, she turned to Danny. "How could you tell them about your powers after one day?" She asked, angry that he could trust another girl with such a huge secret.

-

"One, it's my secret. Two, they're heroes as well, and Kim promised that she would keep the secret. I've been sensing people's emotions sometimes, she felt sincere and resolved to keep it for me. Three, Wade somehow already knew about my powers and basically told me. Kim would have made the connections to me and 'Phantom' really quickly." Danny explained to his gothic friend. He didn't like what he felt from her, jealousy and possessiveness.

-

"Okay, Danny, why don't you go to your room and work on your meditation." Jazz suggested to her brother. He went up to his room with his Ectopi on his shoulders.

+

Jazz turned to Sam to glare at her. "What was that? Why have you been acting so possessive with Danny lately?" Sam just huffed and walked out of the house. Jazz looked at Tucker. "Anything you can tell me other than jealousy over Kim being around?" She asked the geek, knowing about Sam's massive crush on her little brother.

-

"She may feel responsible for Danny half-dying. She was the one who suggested he go look around the portal." Tucker explained to the older redhead. "But I encouraged him to go in as well. That's why I'm trying to be extra supportive and getting him to tell people he trusts. Charybdis and Scylla seem to be doing a better job at that than me."

-

Jazz looked back at the door where Sam had just left. Jazz wanted to blame her for what she made Danny do to die but couldn't. She should have been with them, supervising them. Jazz knew that her parents lacked safety measures in their lab. She should have been there to stop anything like that from happening. She blamed herself.

-

"Don't." Tucker told her. "Don't blame yourself. Danny doesn't need that right now." He got up and put his hand on her shoulders. "Right now, Danny needs his sister as emotional support. His sister shouldn't blame herself for something she couldn't control. Because that's just it, you couldn't control what happened. If you have to blame someone, blame your parents like you always do for 'corrupting' our young minds with 'ghost nonsense'." Tucker explained to her, using air quotes at the end.

-

Jazz nodded. She needed to blame her parents' lack of safety measures around their projects. Her parents already were blaming themselves about the accident. Her eyes widened at a revelation. "What happens when he reveals his secret to our parents? They might completely disregard all the progress Danny made to make them be nice to ghosts if they believe he was trying to bring ghosts to our world to wreak havoc. How can we be sure they'll still think he was Danny at all? He already has two ghost 'minions' at his beck and call." She explained with panic in her voice.

-

Tucker's eyes widened at that thought. He was going to try and reassure her that it wouldn't happen, when a bright green light erupted from upstairs. Tucker and Jazz ran to see what happened before they could think.

=+

When Danny entered his room, he sat on the center of his bed, crossing his legs, and transformed. He closed his eyes and emptied his mind of everything other than his ghost side. The reaction was instant, Danny saw inky blackness with multiple glowing orbs colored Green, Blue, Purple, Gold, and Silver.

'The gold and silver must be Charybdis and Scylla.' Danny surmised and mentally reached out for a gold one. When he 'touched' it, he felt the connection with Charybdis and their fighting spirit. He released the orb and the feeling left him.

'If I can touch them, maybe I can move them.' Danny thought as he reached for the same orb and successfully moved it towards another golden orb. The two orbs merged when they came in contact with each other and Danny felt his connection with Charybdis strengthen when that happened. He tried the same with the silver orbs and got the same result.

'Wonder what will happen if I merge the others?' Danny asked himself as he reached the green for a green one and felt his energy grow as they merged. He felt colder when the blue ones merged and his mind felt clearer when the purple ones merged. Danny kept this process of merging two of each colored orb, getting the same reactions each time, until each of them were very large.

'Should I try merging the different colors?' He asked himself and decided to follow his instinct. Danny started to reach for all of the orbs at once and pushed them together. The next thing he saw was a blinding light.

+

Jazz and Tucker pushed in through the door to find Danny in his human form, sleeping with Charybdis and Scylla, looking more gold and silver, sleeping on his chest. The ectopi were softly glowing and snoring, apparently exhausted after whatever happened.

-

"What do you think happened?" Jazz asked, noticing that the Fenton Thermos had fallen out of his bag. She picked it up. "How are we supposed to release the ghosts from the thermos and back into the portal?"

-

"I don't really know, but from what I have seen of how Danny's powers work intuitively, he may have picked up meditation almost instantly." Tucker theorized. "As for the ghosts, I think we just have to ask Scylla or Charybdis to take them far in and release them into the Zone. Think they would go for that?" Tucker asked, pulling a cover over Danny and the Ectopi.

-

"Maybe if Danny asks. They always seem eager to follow what he says." Jazz said, remembering how Scylla excitedly went to deliver a letter to Sidney.

-

"Maybe." Tucker thought. "What if I made a phone that ghosts can use? It would allow him to call or text us if a ghost popped up at the school, or any other problem that comes up. We can also give them out to any ghost we ally with when we meet them." Tucker said, mostly to himself.

-

"That does sound like a good idea, especially with this Wade kid Kim has running her website helping you. You may need to make a Pager for Sidney though." Jazz told him as they left Danny's room to let him sleep. "At least we have a good excuse as to why Danny is tired. We can just tell my parents that his bond with the Ectopi is real and naming them took some out of him, and with the stress at lunch, of course he's tired. I'm even tired." She rambled to Tucker to try and distract herself from what she was thinking of.

-

Tucker noticed the attempt Jazz was making to distract herself. "Do you want to help me with my homework?" He asked the worried sister of his best friend. He didn't need any help with science or math, but he could use some for English and Social Studies. Jazz nodded and they went back to the living room and started working on getting through Tucker's homework.

As Jazz and Tucker were working on homework, Danny was getting flooded with power and information about himself. They were indecipherable, and Danny knew he had to figure out what he could do himself by copying others, both ghosts and spirits. Spirits being non-humanoid Zone-born ghosts.

Danny was also getting information on the Ghost Zone, or the Infinite Realms as what it is called by the denizens. Some of the information was about this tyrant king Pariah Dark, his knight called Fright Night, and the ancients that trapped Pariah in the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep.

Danny could also feel the differences between Charybdis and Scylla by their energies and instinctively knew about all their powers. Not to mention that he could feel the portal in the basement as if it was a part of him. 'Maybe I should try to make portals myself?' Danny thought to himself.

Outside of his body, a green swirling portal with a purple rim appeared in his room. It disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared, but not before releasing a blue spider person. The spider ghost looked at the half-ghost with inspecting eyes. "Interesting." They said in Gholric before phasing out of existence and out of Danny's room.

Danny's ghost sense went off, and he tried to wake up but couldn't draw the strength. 'Oh well, if they're not doing anything bad.' Danny quickly gave up to exhaustion.
