Tori's POV
I pushed myself upright slowly, wincing immediately as pain spread through almost every part of my body. My muscles ached terribly, my legs still weak from everything that had happened earlier, and for a moment, I simply sat there trying to steady my breathing.
The room around me felt too quiet.
Too empty.
And somehow, that alone already told me something was wrong.
Realization crashed into me almost instantly.
The wish.
It didn't work.
My fingers tightened against the edge of the bed while panic slowly crept into my chest. It was supposed to work. Every other time I had used it, something happened. Something always changed.
But this time?
Nothing.
I was still here.
Still trapped.
Still part of this nightmare.
A sharp knock suddenly sounded against the door before it swung open without waiting for permission. One of the maids stepped inside quickly, her expression unusually tense.
"They are waiting for you."
