[Feat Achieved: Be acknowledged as the strongest in your school.]
[Received one silver ticket.]
Tsuna looked at the various students who were murmuring and chatting as he stood over Hibari's unconscious body. Awe and fear seemed to be the prominent emotions.
He puffed up his chest ever so slightly, feeling really good about changing his classmates' opinion of him.
Sure, being known as a violent monster was not the best reputation, but it was certainly better than his previous rep.
He only hoped this newfound acknowledgement did not stop him from grinding tickets by challenging various figures in his school.
It was likely he would only get bronze tickets from winning those fights, but every ticket helped.
He took a look at the downed Hibari and let out a frown. What was he going to do with this idiot?
Leaving him broken on the ground was not really an option, but taking him to the hospital was going to make him late. He supposed the infirmary was an option, but that was only for light wounds.
Tsuna had quite literally broken both of his arms.
"Please spare my commander, sir," a voice piped in from the side.
Tsuna blinked and looked over, finding a tall teenager with a pompadour hairstyle. He was followed by several individuals wearing the same hairstyle and dressed in impeccable school uniforms. He recognized the bands wrapped around their arms.
It was the discipline committee.
Tsuna almost let out a laugh at the sight of them. These guys were basically delinquents that Hibari led. They followed him because he beat their asses until they got their act together.
Still, it seemed their loyalty was not drawn completely by fear. They were facing the man who beat their leader, and from the looks on their faces they were going to fight to the death to drag him out of here.
Tsuna shook his head lightly. That had them tensing.
"You're welcome to have the idiot. I broke his arms, so you should get him patched up. Please tell him to schedule fights later on instead of ambushing me."
Tsuna shrugged and turned away from them after saying his piece.
He knew it was impossible to get Hibari to stop seeking him out at this point. That last manic smile on his face told him that, but he could not say he was that upset about it.
Sure, it was an inconvenience, but he was not opposed to fighting Hibari on the regular. At the rate he was growing, Hibari might even manage to become a halfway decent sparring partner…
Well, if Tsuna did not use any supernatural abilities, at least.
He heard shuffling behind him as the boys collected their fallen leader.
"Thank you for your mercy, sir!" A combined shout from the group of teenagers rang out throughout the school, and Tsuna shuddered lightly.
Hibari really knew how to beat discipline into his subordinates.
Tsuna waved his hand dismissively over his shoulder, showing he did not think what he did was a big deal.
He just wanted to be on time for once.
Thankfully the fight between him and Hibari was not actually that long.
So he managed to make his way to his classroom, although he did pause briefly to rip his tickets when his instincts told him no one was around.
[Detonation]
|Rare Ability|
Allows you to charge any item you are holding with explosive energy that you can detonate at any time, turning them into what are essentially time bombs. The explosive energy fades over time. The more energy you expend, the stronger the explosion.
Well, that was cool. Again, not something he desperately needed, but being able to create bombs on the fly was neat.
Also, he just needed one more ability to have his third ability slot open up.
He arrived at his classroom quickly and opened the door.
His clothes were disheveled and slightly singed from his flames, but he had made it on time.
The room went dead silent when he entered, but he could feel their eyes on him. Kyoko looked at him with hesitation, clearly wanting to talk to him but not knowing if she should.
Hana was also giving him an odd look. It was not fear or awe but a strange sort of confusion as she looked at him. Ah, she had been having odd feelings about him since yesterday and was not sure how to approach him about it.
Tsuna frowned briefly. Nagi's flames were strong enough that his rejection was screaming at her. Hana's on the other hand would have just a light whisper in the back of her head.
He had no idea how he was going to approach her about this.
He had a piece of her settled in his chest, and she needed to know that.
Knowing that did not make it easy to approach.
So he sat down in his seat and gave Hana a small smile. He was going to have to at least wait until they had some privacy… or maybe wait until Reborn came back so he could get more information on Harmonization.
…okay, he was afraid of what was going to happen, but it was to be expected. Nagi's reaction should be completely out of the norm, so he expected Hana to not take this news well.
So bringing it up himself knowing that? Yeah, he was not looking forward to it.
She greeted him back lamely, again looking at him awkwardly for a moment. That hesitation was still on her face.
Before she could say anything, the door opened up and their homeroom teacher entered the room. Hana looked at him one more time before deciding she could talk to him later.
The roll call came around, and Tsuna was satisfied when his teacher called his name and he responded. The man clearly did not expect Tsuna to be here, as he paused ever so slightly when he heard Tsuna's reply.
It was not the shocked reaction he wanted, and it was not even that big a deal to the teacher, but it was a reaction. One that had him feeling just a bit giddy.
"Okay, class. I'm sure you heard about the transfer student we are getting," the man started, and the door to their classroom opened up.
A boy entered the room: silver hair and green eyes. The boy was wearing his uniform but he left the dress shirt open, showing off a bright red shirt underneath. He had a scowl on his face, and his eyes seemed perpetually set into a narrowed glare.
"Allow me to introduce him. This is Hayato Gokudera. He was studying in Italy and recently came back to Japan."
The teacher gestured to Hayato politely, not seeing Hayato's current hostile attitude as a major issue.
The class started to whisper and talk about the student. The girls were happy about getting a handsome transfer student, and the boys sulked that they did not get a mysterious girl transfer student.
Tsuna studied the transfer student as well, tense as he read the hostile intent that was directed at him. If the class was really paying attention, they would have noticed he was ignoring everyone else and was entirely focused on Tsuna.
He looked back at Hayato, his own gaze narrowed and his fists clenched. He did not think he needed to start off his day with another fight, but clearly this guy had an issue.
Hayato walked forward without bothering to say anything to the teacher or the class. Instead he traveled toward Tsuna and stood over his desk glaring. Tsuna locked gazes with him.
Hayato clicked his tongue.
The rest of the class seemed to realize who Hayato was targeting.
"Gokudera-kun, your seat."
The teacher tried to diffuse the hostility brewing.
Several girls also tried to call his name, likely trying to warn him about who he was targeting.
Then Hayato kicked at Tsuna's desk, trying to push Tsuna over with his seat.
Tsuna frowned and blocked the blow with his own foot. Shock Absorption made the defense incredibly easy.
"Go to your seat," Tsuna spat out as he glared at Hayato. The boy in question raised an eyebrow and smirked at Tsuna, reaching toward his pocket for something.
"Gokudera-kun, please sit down."
The teacher rushed forward, dragging the glaring boy away to his seat. The teacher knew about Tsuna's new reputation, and Hayato was a prized student who held top scores.
He doubted the boy could handle someone who broke someone like Hibari.
Hayato glared one final time at Tsuna before letting go of whatever he gripped in his pocket and allowing himself to be dragged away with another click of his tongue.
The rest of the class were wide-eyed and whispering to each other. The boys looked at the transfer student like he was a dead man, and some girls described how brave Hayato was.
Tsuna rolled his eyes.
How was this fair? The transfer student attacked him in front of everyone else, and everyone just ignored it? Hayato should at least be reprimanded, but the teacher just glossed over his actions.
"You alright, Fluffy?"
Hana asked, briefly glaring at Hayato who was ignoring her.
Seeing some level of concern, Tsuna took a deep breath and smiled at Hana.
"Yeah, I'm good. Thanks, Hana-san."
"Not sure what I did to piss off the new transfer student, but he clearly has it out for me."
He finished, glaring at Hayato who was still looking at him with clear hostility. The boy had some conflicting emotions, but the predominant one was definitely hostility.
Hana snorted and gave Tsuna a flat look.
"You beat up Hibari. Any clown wanting to prove themselves is going to challenge you to get the crown on your head."
Hana spoke out idly.
Tsuna frowned. She made a point, but something told him that while delinquents would come after him, the motivation coming from Hayato had a different direction.
"Do you think people are really going to be stupid enough to challenge the guy who beat up Hibari-senpai?"
Tsuna asked after a moment.
Hana again snorted.
"Fluffy, they feared Hibari, but they don't know you. They might assume you got lucky, or that you pulled a dirty trick. All they know is they can't beat Hibari, but they don't know if they can beat you. Stupid monkey shit. You really picked a dumb fight, Fluffy."
Hana finished with a wry smile on her face.
This time Tsuna rolled his eyes and pouted at Hana.
"It's not like I chose to fight Hibari-senpai. Once that guy gets something into his head, nothing is going to stop him."
Tsuna commented lightly, and Hana let out a light laugh.
"Fair. Good luck with that, but from what I saw in the courtyard, you are not going to need it."
Hana commented with a wink.
Tsuna smiled back at her and shrugged.
Conversation flowed easily, and while there was something hanging over the both of them at this moment, it was fine.
Class moved on, the teacher lecturing and Tsuna taking notes. It was soon lunchtime.
Kyoko seemed to finally gather the courage to talk to Tsuna. He was not sure what to do about that exactly, but that plan seemed dead in the water as Hayato came toward his desk first thing and slammed his fist on the table.
Tsuna frowned. At least this time he did not try to kick Tsuna over.
"What?"
He asked flatly as he faced the boy trying to intimidate him.
"Meet me out back. We need to have a talk. I refuse to accept someone like you."
Hayato spat out.
Several people tried to dissuade Hayato, but he ignored them.
Tsuna let out a sigh and stood up, towering over Hayato for a moment. He did not expect that as he took a step back with a frown.
Tsuna looked flatly at him.
"Fine. Let's just get this over with."
He spoke out tiredly. What was with his life and fighting lately?
He should be able to get some tickets for beating up this idiot at least.
"Hayato-kun, that's not a good idea. Tsun-san is—"
A girl tried one final time to stop her new crush from this.
Hayato glared at her.
"Shut it. I did not ask for your useless opinion."
He spat out and walked out of the class, glaring at everything.
Again Tsuna let out a sigh and followed, waving at Hana as he passed. She gave him her own flat look but gave him an encouraging thumbs up. Kyoko was sulking as she wanted to talk to him right now, but that looked like it was not going to happen.
Soon Tsuna and Hayato found themselves behind the school.
Hayato glared at Tsuna, and Tsuna looked back at the guy flatly, waiting for him to start fighting already, but that just did not happen.
In fact all he seemed to do was glare at Tsuna.
After minutes of that, Tsuna broke the silence with a frown.
"Get to the point already. What do you want?"
Tsuna questioned, tired of waiting around for this idiot.
"I don't accept it!"
Hayato snarled at Tsuna, his fists clutched at his side and his glare in full force.
"I'm more fit for the position of Tenth, not someone like you."
The hostile boy continued, and Tsuna narrowed his eyes. That was a motivation he did not expect.
After a moment of reading his intention, he gave the boy a baffled look.
"Are you a fucking idiot?"
Tsuna asked after a moment. He was really fucking confused. As far as he could tell, this guy did not have Sky Flames, automatically making him not qualified for heir status.
In fact he was pretty certain he was not even Flame active. Meaning he was a fucking mook. Sure, Tsuna could feel the Flames slumbering in him and he had an impressive variety, but it was still not that special.
Even Hibari's Flames felt stronger.
Also, where the fuck did this man come from? Reborn said Tsuna was the last of the Vongola bloodline. Did he ignore this twat because he did not have the proper flames?
Hayato bristled at his comment and let out another snarl but barely held himself together.
"A fool like you would bring the Vongola Family to the grave. It's better for someone like me to rule as the tenth. Reborn said I just need to kill you and I'll become the heir."
Hayato spat as he produced several sticks of dynamite between his fingers.
Tsuna blinked. What fucking game was Reborn playing?
There was like a 2 percent chance this guy could kill him, and that was Tsuna being generous.
"You know what? I'm done. You can believe whatever nonsense you want, but I'm done humoring you."
Tsuna shot out with a frown and decided to just end this.
He pushed his Speed and rushed at Hayato.
The boy went wide-eyed at the sudden speed but he quickly reacted, lighting the fuses on his dynamite and tossing them to get in his way.
Tsuna slotted in Mud Manipulation in the second slot and snuffed out each fuse with idle taps as he passed them. Really, this guy decided it was a good idea to throw bombs around the school.
People were bound to come running if things went boom.
Tsuna arrived by Hayato, his fist already flying through the air.
His first punch landed in the boy's gut, making Hayato let out a gasp of pain and spittle leaving his mouth.
The second punch was aimed at his face and had Hayato tilting toward the ground as Tsuna's force sent the boy stumbling in that direction.
Tsuna frowned. Too fucking easy.
He grasped at Hayato's arm and dragged him back in this direction, kicking out his lower leg so he fell toward the ground, landing heavily but nothing compared to the slam Tsuna did on Hibari just this morning.
Hayato let out a pained groan, and Tsuna felt angry.
This was just so fucking pathetic.
Unlike Hibari, this fight felt like a joke. It was not even a funny one. Just an irritating mess.
He then let out a sigh at the wounded boy below him.
This… this was not even worth finishing.
He let out a scoff and left the boy on the ground. This guy was probably worth a bronze ticket, but Tsuna did not really feel like fighting right now.
He never knew that a fight could be this unsatisfying. Was this going to be how he felt beating up the various clubs for tickets? If that was the case, he was better off just knocking them out like he did to Hibari the first time.
At least that would not be that irritating.
He left in a bad mood.
"Don't… Don't FUCKING LOOK DOWN ON ME!"
Hayato hacked out from his position before standing shakily and screaming at Tsuna's retreating back.
Tsuna looked back at him flatly.
Hayato then took out a frankly absurd amount of dynamite sticks and went to throw all of them. Each stick lighting up in an instant, only for him to drop all of them at his own feet.
Tsuna stared blankly for a moment as he stared at Hayato.
Hayato looked at the bombs at his own feet in dread. He knew he was going to die. Even in his best state he could not escape this many bombs. He looked down and resigned himself.
Tsuna snarled out and used his ability to create a swamp below the fucking idiot. The swamp swallowed every bomb, putting them out instantly. He then marched toward the idiot and slammed his own head into Hayato's.
The blow connected and had the boy recovered from his resigned state. He looked at the face that was incredibly close and the snarl on Tsuna's face.
"You really are a fucking idiot! Why would you try a move like that? You wield fucking bombs. You don't spam that shit; you plan your moves."
Tsuna continued to lecture the idiot who clearly did not take his own life seriously.
He may not like him, but he was not going to watch the moron kill himself.
There was hostility in Hayato but the killing edge was missing. So Tsuna treated him with kid gloves.
Hayato stared at him blankly for a moment before the tension on his face melted and he looked at Tsuna with big wide eyes, tears streaming down his face.
Tsuna froze at the sight.
It was absurd, the shift from tough Mafioso out for this life to this emotional mess of a man.
"BOSSSS!"
Hayato screamed out before hugging his legs, wailing at Tsuna like a puppy.
What!?
