Chapter 4 - Hold My Hand

"I miss my husband, this is so fucking awkward," New mumbled.

Sea had spent the entire week dreading the convention, and New tried to take his mind off it every time, and now that they were finally there, New started to dread it right along with him.

"I miss your husband too, because why did he leave us alone?" Sea muttered back to him.

The convention was more like a conference, and friends and family were allowed, but if you weren't a ceo trying to network, there was truly no point in being there.

"Uncle Sea."

Sea looked down at Kat, "What child?"

"Can you hold me?"

Sea gave her a weird look, "no you are seven years old, why would I hold you?"

New kicked Sea in the back of the knee. "Ouch."

"Hold my fucking child," New said through his teeth.

Sea sighed and bent down, picking Kat up and putting her on his hip.

"Look at you," New cooed as Kat put her head on Sea's shoulder.

"Die," Sea mumbled.

The two of them continued to talk about random things as the conference continued on. But both New and Sea could feel eyes on them.

They were out of place; they always were, but especially now.

They were both tall, muscular, and had better builds than most of the alphas in the room, but they were omegas.

Even without the normal bands, the things that said they were omegas, they knew that people could still tell.

New had a giant bite mark on the back of his neck, one that only claimed omegas had, and the two of them had kids around them, so of course, people could tell.

And they were judging, because that's the only thing alphas are good at. Judging. Having their eyes where they weren't supposed to.

"Honey," A voice behind them pulled the two of them out of their random conversation. They both turned around, and there Tay stood.

He was standing there with three other Ceo's, sadly, none of them were Jimmy, but they all made New and Sea cower.

Another reason Sea didn't like alphas is that they would do shit like this. Knowing that New was marked and claimed by the guy next to them and seeing that Sea had a child in his hands, and still letting out these pheromones to show their "dominance." It made Sea almost wanna gag.

"This is my husband, New, and then our two kids, Josie, my oldest, and then Kat, who Sea is holding, is our youngest. And then Sea is New's…best friend," Tay said, his voice fading off towards the end.

Two of the alphas reached their hands out to shake New and Sea's hands.

"It is lovely to meet you, and your kids, they are beautiful, I see they take after you," one of them said with a smile.

New felt himself blush as he itched his head nervously, "thank you," he said with a smile.

"Yes. It's a shame we didn't meet you earlier," the other one said, also smiling at New.

New thanked him as well as Tay stared daggers in the back of both of their heads.

"I don't see a ring. Are you single?" Everyone turned their attention to the final guy standing there.

"New is my husband," Tay interjected.

"I am not asking about him." The guy's eyes made Sea feel uncomfortable.

"It's complicated," Sea said, laughing, trying to make the situation less awkward.

"Complicated how?"

Tay pinched the guys back, "I think we should go do some more networking, come on."

The two other guys agreed, and the third guy reluctantly nodded too, not taking his eyes off of Sea.

As the guys started to walk, Tay turned back and kissed the side of New's neck.

"Thank you," New mouthed, and Tay smiled at him.

Tay turned to Sea, smiling, dropping, "If he bothers you again, please let me know."

Sea nodded, and just like that, Tay was gone.

After that whole endeavor, they decided it was best for them and the kids to get some fresh air outside.

"I am not racing you right now," Sea said. He was sitting on the grass with New, who was smiling, and Josie, who was very much on her phone.

"Sea, you said you would," Kat whined.

"You bad ass kid, when did I say that?"

Kat went silent and pouted at him.

"Daddy, can you please get Uncle Sea to play with me?"

"I'm up, I'm up," Sea said before New could threaten him again.

"Yay, come on, let's race."

"Baby, please keep in mind Uncle Sea is pregnant right now, so don't be rough."

"It's been a week," he said with his hands up.

New tried to kick Sea with his foot, "I don't care, I want you to be careful."

"I will be careful," Kat said with a smile.

Sea slipped off the dress shoes he was wearing and took off the white button-up to reveal a white wife-beater underneath, "Things are getting real, I am not letting a 7-year-old beat me."

"Daddy, daddy, count us off!"

"Have Josie do it."

"Daddd," Josie whined, looking up from her phone.

New took it out of her hand, "Go, I am not playing with you."

Josie stood up. "On your mark."

"Kat, if you cheat, I am going to be very mad," Sea said.

"Get set."

And before Josie could say go, Kat took off as Sea yelled after her, "You are a cheater!"

Sea took off after her. Every time that the two of them would race, Kat would cheat; she would always start early.

Sea thankfully ran way faster than he should have and beat Kat.

"That's not fair."

"You cheated," Sea said laying down over their makeshift finish line.

Kat pouted and jumped on him, "Why are we jumping on me?" Sea felt himself start to laugh.

The two of them played around in the grass.

"If Uncle Sea isn't married, how are you pregnant?"

"This bitch…" Sea muttered, cutting himself off before he cussed the child out more. "I." Sea cut himself off again.

"You ever ask if your parents were together when they had Josie?" Sea asked, instigating.

"Daddy said they got together while he was pregnant."

"You know too much," Sea said, giving the kid a weird look.

Kat got off of Sea and sat down next to him.

"Did you get married without inviting us?"

"No, I am not married."

"Then how are you pregnant?"

"I am stupid," Sea said.

"How…" loud laughing cut Kat off as the two of them looked behind Sea.

"You're so funny," a voice said.

Sea felt himself move slightly in the grass to see who that person was talking to.

"Thanks," and as he moved, he wished he hadn't. There stood the guy he had spent a week ago with, whose handsome face you couldn't miss from a mile away, the man who got him pregnant.

And he was talking to what looked to be an omega, who was shorter than him and had a bubbly smile.

He was really pretty and the picture-perfect image of an Omega, everything that Sea was not.

He had spent so long working on his self-image and trying to get this image out of his head of the perfect omega. And it had worked, with the help of New, and seeing him happy with his relationship, with all of the people at his gym, he had gotten this image out of his head.

The image that his parents put in his head, the reason he left when he was so young, the reason he went no contact, the reason he doesn't even see his brother anymore.

This image that was back and made him beyond insecure. All over now, a stupid man.

"Let's go back to daddy," Sea said, turning back to Kat with a smile.

"Are you okay uncle?" She asked.

Sea knew he couldn't lie to her; this kid was too smart. "Yes, I will be okay, but Uncle Sea has to use the bathroom, so let's go to Daddy."

Kat runs ahead of him, and Sea walks slowly behind her, forcing himself not to look back.

He shouldn't even be feeling that way about a man he meant once, but he does, and it is more than just him being pregnant; it is way more than that, but Sea can't quite explain it.

"I saw Jimmy, get up, we need to go back inside."

"What isn't that a good thing?"

"He was talking to another omega, get up, we are going back inside," Sea muttered, slipping back on his shoes and folding his shirt in his hands.

"Oh fuck." New said, standing up.

The four of them got back inside, and Sea tried to calm himself down.

He rubbed his eyes and sighed. And it didn't help the fact that everyone was staring at him because of his whole upper half basically being on display.

"Calm down," New said.

"I can't, if I don't even understand the emotions I am feeling and why I am feeling them," Sea felt himself snap.

"Don't snap at me, I am just trying to help. I can tell you exactly why. I was like this too. You are jealous. It doesn't matter if you don't think you are; being like this is something you can't really control. It's something both alphas and omegas feel. It's weird, and it's new, which is why you are freaking out. So why don't you go to the bathroom, wash your face, and come back when you are ready?" New said sternly.

"Okay," Sea said, forcing himself not to say anything else. He handed his shirt to New and walked to the bathroom, and started to wash his face.

He just needed to calm down. Everything was fine.

"Everything is…" he felt his mouth go raw as Jimmy walked into the bathroom, and he felt himself freeze.

"I didn't know you were married," Jimmy said awkwardly, washing his hands next to the man.

"Why does everyone keep saying that today? I am not married," Sea said, turning off the water.

"So you just have a kid from another one-night stand?"

Sea rolled his eyes. "That's my friend's kid."

"Oh," Jimmy muttered awkwardly, turning off the sink and rubbing the side of his neck.

Sea felt himself slowly rocking back to side as Jimmy's head felt almost empty.

He didn't understand why he had asked that, why he had followed the latter into the bathroom, why he was even still standing here.

Sea played with his fingers. He knew what he had to say, what he was meant to say.

He couldn't leave him in the dark, no matter how much he wanted to. No matter how much he wanted to run outside and never see him ever again. Just go back home, back to boxing, raise his child on his own. Jimmy had the right to know.

But for some reason, "your omega is really pretty," the wrong words came out of his mouth.

His head was so empty. He didn't even know where these words had come from. Why, out of all things that he could have, did he just do the same thing that Jimmy did to him? Asked him the stupid fucking question, showing him that he felt this whole weird feeling he couldn't even put a name to. This feeling that could only be described with the word jealousy.

"Oh, I don't know who that was," Jimmy said, too sharp, too quickly for it to just be a casual response.

"Well, why were you talking then?" Sea wanted to go home and cut his stupid mouth off.

"I mean, it is a networking event. There's not much else to do besides talk. I'm not even quite sure what we were talking about. He was just laughing at everything I was saying."

"Right," Sea said, and then his legs started to move, started to move towards the door.

He had to say something. He knew it.

He stopped and turned around, "Jimmy?"

"Yes?"

"I'm…" the words were on the tip of his tongue. "I am pregnant."

"Okay? Is it mine?"

Sea's mind started to race. "Yes."

Jimmy didn't move. "Did you get a DNA test?"

Jimmy's words started to sting. "You are the only man I have had sex with in 4 years."

Sea couldn't say anything else, and he started to walk.

"Wait, you…" The bathroom door shut behind him as he started to quickly walk.

He scanned the room for New and then quickly ran to him.

"Uh, we have to go, like actually go, like New, we have to go," Sea asked frantically, and New looked at him.

"Pregnant, I told Jimmy I was pregnant, let's go," Sea said, trying to muster up more words that connected together at least made some sense.

New started laughing as he turned to his children, "You guys ready to go back to bed?"

They both nodded gratefully, and the 4 of them made their way out of the conference.

The hotel was thankfully connected, so in less than 3 minutes, they were already back in the room.

"So I die right here? Is that my game plan?"

"You are so awkward, oh my god. It was already bad, but the FACT YOU WALKED OUT made it so much worse."

Sea flopped down on the bed, "What am I going to do?"

"At least you didn't kill him like you threatened to do."

"You are not helping my case at all."

"Sorry, sorry. Well, I know you don't want to, but you need to talk to him again."

"Fuckkk!"

"Language. Of course, I don't know how you wanna do it, but you need to find his contact somehow and talk to him. Talk to him, get to know him more, just ask what he wants to do, wants to pay for child support…"

Sea cut him off, "Don't say that."

"I am putting your options on the table, since apparently we don't like to think about consequences, before we jump into things we've never done before," New said.

"Okay, okay, I will talk to him about it."

"When."

"Don't rush me, I don't know," Sea said, putting his hands up and sitting back up.

"Are you going to tell your parents?"

"Don't mention that right now, oh my god, don't mention them right now,"

"I am trying to put in your head what you need to think about. Doctor's appointments, baby clothes, you need to move out of that fuck ass apartment and at least get one with more than one bedroom, there is a lot to think about."

Sea screamed into the pillow. "I'm done, I'm done, I will think about this tomorrow."

"Sea it is still daytime."

"I'm done."

Sea threw off his pants and got under the covers. And as the sun beamed through the hotel window, his mind felt full; he had so many things he had to do, for himself, for his baby, but it felt like it was all too much. So he was going to sleep. Sleep the day away completely to try and forget it all.
