"Has anything shown up yet?" Tay asked awkwardly.
"I will let you know when I find out," Sea muttered back.
After spending the rest of yesterday throwing up and then all night staring at the ceiling, he decided it was in his best interest to drive from his apartment to New's house and just get the pregnancy test out of the way.
New insisted on making him something to eat and put Tay on stand in the bathroom and make really awkward small talk duty while he did that.
"If he offers for you to live with us, say no."
Sea shot him a weird look, "What is your problem?"
"I don't like you all over New," Tay said.
"I don't want him."
"I dont know that," Tay said.
"Well, I am telling you. And we are both omegas, what are we gonna do, touch purses? Literally get over yourself," Sea said, rolling his eyes.
"Go stay with whoever got you like this. I don't want you here."
"Well, the person I am praying didn't get me pregnant was a fling, and he also just happened to smack you down for the ceo top 50 shit."
"Jimmy?" Tay asked, with his head to the side.
"Don't even say his name."
"You had sex with him? Why?"
"I am stupid, and he was hot; there was no other reason."
"He is so rude," Tay said.
"That is rich coming from you," Sea clapped back, and Tay rolled his eyes.
Then there was a knock at the door, and then New pushed it open with a smile, "Glad to see we are getting along."
"Of course," Tay and Sea both say in unison.
"What did the test say? It has definitely been longer than 3 minutes now," New asked, arms folded against his chest.
"I am too scared to look."
"Well, I don't wanna hold your pee, so you have to look," New said, and Sea sighed.
His mind was completely blank as he stared at the wall. He didn't want to check, he really didn't want to. He didn't want to risk his future career, something that he has worked so hard to build, doesn't want to risk his livelihood, does't want to let New down.
He can't bring himself to check, because if those words pregnant show up on the test, all of the long hours New spent on him, pregnant, holding kids, dead fucking tired. Would be for nothing. It would all be gone if that stupid word appeared on the stupid test sitting on the toilet seat. And he couldn't do it, he couldn't, "Are you about to cry?" Tay asked.
Sea quickled blinked, "No, no."
"Are you okay? Baby, what's wrong? You haven't even looked at it yet?" New asked with a sad look on his face.
He itched his head, "I feel like, if I'm pregnant, then all of your work would have been for nothing," Sea said as his voice started to crack.
He didn't even cry that like, but he couldn't help it now, with all of these new emotions, these new possibilities, all things he wasn't really ready for.
"No, no, don't say that, oh my god don't say that," New said, walking over to rub his back, "if you are pregnant, hey look at me," New said.
Sea turned around, turning his attention to the man in front of him.
"If you are pregnant. We will continue to train, I just don't want you in the ring, got it? We will continue to do everything so you stay healthy and happy. Because I know how you get even with missing one day of practice. And your body is bound to change, but that won't make you any less of a good fighter. Hey, I have been pregnant what, 1, 2, now 3 times, I can still beat your ass," New said with a smile, and Sea started to laugh.
"I want you to know that whatever happens, I love you, and you will always be my student, my best friend, my secret boyfriend…"
"You're what?" Tay asked, and the two of them started to laugh at him.
"We will keep that between us, then. But trust me, everything will be okay, and I am not going to let you beat yourself up over this. Mistakes happen, I know, I know it more than anyone. So look at that test, and you will be okay," New said, and Sea nodded whipping his tears that had fallen.
He took a deep breath. Everything would be fine, he kept telling himself over and over again.
He closed his eyes and held the test in his hands. He sighed and opened his eyes.
He felt the test shaking in his hands as the word pregnant displayed across the small screen on the test.
Who knew such a small thing could cause this many emotions? His mind is spinning with all of these thoughts. Everything that New told him not to worry about. He was happy, sad, angry; he couldn't explain it, just so many things all at once, he just didn't know what to do with it, what to do with all of this.
"Uh, New," Sea said and turned around. "Yes?"
"I am pregnant..."
New's eyes lit up, "You are?"
"I guess so…" and before Sea could even get out another world, New quickly embraced him in a hug, lifting him up from his sitting position into the air.
"Oh my god, oh my god," New said, basically spinning him around.
"Baby, baby, cool it, you are pregnant too," Tay said calmly.
"Sorry," New said, putting Sea down with a smile, "you are concerningly strong."
"Oh my god, can you make me their godparent? Oh my god, that would be so fun, and you're my kids god parent, and then Tay and I could be theirs. That would be so fun. Or wait, can I be their uncle? Oh my god, I don't know which one I like more. AND we can baby bump besties, that would be beyond fun!"
"Baby bump besties is too far," Tay muttered.
New snapped his neck to look at Tay and then slowly turned back to Sea. "And we could kill my fucking husband because what the fuck."
"Those all sound great to me," Sea said with a smile.
New's joy was making his worry slowly fade away.
"I love babies so much!" New said, jumping up and down.
He turned back to Tay again, who instinctively put his hands up, "You!"
"Me? What did I do, honey?"
"We need more babies. Can you work on that?" New asked.
"You said you were done."
"I just said that because you were pissing me off. We need more babies," New said, being dead serious.
Tay reached out to put a hand on New, "I think you need to wait until you have this one, and then worry about having more babies, okay? You are getting older, I don't…"
"Did you just call me old?" New asked, he turned and looked at Sea, who was on the brink of laughing his ass off, "I think he just called me old."
"Old and fat," Sea said insigating.
New turned back to Tay, who was very much stressing out right now, "I will find babies elsewhere then."
"No, you won't," Tay said, pulling him in for a hug. "I don't want you to be in pain like you did for our last two."
"But Sea's baby needs someone to play with," New mumbled into Tay's chest.
"You are pregnant right now, honey."
New pulled back out of the hug, "But what if he has twins?"
"Don't manifest that," Sea muttered.
"I am not, ugh, the twins need someone else to play with," New said. "Okay, it's settled. If you have one baby, then fine, but if you have twins, Tay and….Oh my god, I am getting ahead of myself," New said, cutting himself off from his baby rant.
Sea smiled at him, "It's okay, seeing you this excited is making me excited."
"Good, good. Trust me, it's only up from here," New said with a smile.
After a while, the three of them finally got out of the bathroom, ate some food, and now Sea and New were talking on the couch.
"So you guys are in a convenience relationship?"
"Well, we were, because Tay's parents didn't want him to nail and bail. And then it was convenient for his ruts and my heats, and then it just took off from there."
"So, you guys grew to love each other with time."
"Yes, and I think you should do that with your baby daddy."
"Don't call him that, that makes it so much weirder than it needs to be," Sea said, and New started to laugh.
"Sorry, sorry. I know you met him once, and we don't really know where to find him, but for convenience, for your heats would be so nice, because mine are like yours, they are so irregular, and they are 10 times worse when you are pregnant."
"You are lying."
"I wish I was. One time, mine came 3 times in one month."
"YOU'RE LYING."
"It was the worst thing ever, but thankfully I had my man there, or else I actually would have been in the hospital."
"Fuck, but he was so rude."
"My man too, you just gotta crack 'em wide open," New said, raising his eyebrow.
"Rightttt, I don't know what the two of you are doing, but right. No, but he was nasty rude."
"Like when you two were fucking?" New asked.
Sea nodded back at him.
"What did he say to you?"
"He kept saying I was being too loud. And…" Sea's face turned red as his mind started to wander, wander back to that night.
New smiled, "Right, but he has you like this now, so he couldn't be that bad. Also, were you being mean to him? I know you get very defensive and closed off when talking to alphas, so you were probably mean to him."
"Why are you taking his side?"
"I'm not, I am just saying how you are."
"Ugh, I just don't ever want to see him again, but also I can't raise this kid by myself," Sea sighed.
"Tay and I can help you."
"New, you guys have 2, almost 3 kids, I can't make you take care of mine too."
"I wouldn't mind."
"I would," Sea said, sighing. He would have to find this guy and face him. "Where would I even find this guy?"
"Ceo top 50 convention." The two of them turned their attention to Tay, who stood behind the couch looking at them.
"Come sit, baby."
"I don't wanna intrude on your baby bump besties' time."
"Get your ass over here before I get you pregnant too," New said, and Tay and Sea looked at him like he had 3 heads.
Tay walked over cautiously to New, who yanked him. He put Tay in front of him and then wrapped his arms and legs around him and leaned back.
"Elaborate."
"I told you about it like a month ago, but now that he just smacked me down, I know he will be there, so maybe try that."
"And do what? Tell him I'm pregnant with his kid in front of the whole convention?" Sea asked.
"I didn't think that far ahead."
"Okay, so we go, try to get you all alone together, and tell him you're pregnant. Make sure you continuously bat your eyes at him, and be all bashful, and he'll fall for you immediately. Alphas are very simple."
"What the…"
New cut him off. "Shhh, my offer from earlier still stands," New said, basically cutting off the blood cirulation on the places he was holding Tay in.
"Okay, okay, so when is it?"
"It's in a week, and I will pay for one of those big hotel rooms. We can make it a family affair," Tay mumbled, scared of his husband.
"Oh my god, you are the best," New said and kissed his face a bunch.
Sea smiled.
His worries were still there, but he was happy that he had a makeshift family to help him through it all. Happy that his boxing career wasn't over. Happy that his baby would be loved, loved more than his parents loved him, loved more than all the people in his life who had walked out, loved because he was going to make sure of it. Make sure not to repeat the god-awful cycle.
