Chapter 27 - that girl

Chapter 26

The Name That Connected Everything

(Serina's POV)

That girl…

Didn't leave my mind.

Jay.

Something about her…

wasn't ordinary.

And I don't ignore instincts.

Not when they feel this strong.

At first…

I told myself to let it go.

It was just a small moment.

A random meeting.

Nothing more.

But still…

Her face.

Her voice.

Her nature.

It stayed.

So I did what I always do.

I found out.

"Find me a student."

Keizer looked at me.

"Who?"

"Jay."

He raised an eyebrow.

"Just 'Jay'?"

"She studies in Keifer's college."

That was enough.

For him.

Because when he wants something…

he finds it.

A few hours later—

He walked in.

"Found her."

My heart didn't react.

But my mind did.

"Tell me."

"She's in Keifer's class."

Silence.

For a second…

everything paused.

Same class.

Same environment.

Same space.

Interesting.

But not surprising.

I nodded slightly.

"And?"

Keizer continued.

"Her full name is Jay Jasfer."

That name.

Felt familiar.

Too familiar.

I looked at him.

"Jasfer?"

He nodded.

"She's his daughter."

Silence.

Now it made sense.

Everything.

Jasfer.

My husband's business partner.

A man we knew well.

A man we trusted.

A man whose family…

was respectable.

And his daughter…

Was her.

Jay.

I leaned back slowly.

Thinking.

Processing.

This wasn't random anymore.

Not at all.

"Anything else?" I asked.

Keizer nodded slightly.

"She's known in her area."

"How?"

"Kind."

"Helpful."

"Good with people."

A small smile formed on my lips.

Of course.

That matches.

Perfectly.

Five qualities.

And now—

A good family.

A known background.

A respectable name.

This wasn't coincidence.

This was alignment.

Too perfect.

Too clean.

And that made it dangerous.

Because when things fit too well…

Life usually has something else planned.

"Does Keifer know her?" I asked casually.

Keizer shrugged.

"They're classmates."

That answer wasn't enough.

But I didn't push further.

Not yet.

After he left—

I sat there.

Quiet.

Thinking about her again.

But this time…

With more clarity.

"She fits…"

I whispered.

More than I expected.

More than I planned.

More than I should be comfortable with.

Because now…

She wasn't just a girl I liked.

She was someone…

Who could actually belong.

In this family.

In this life.

And that changes everything.

But one question still remained.

A simple one.

Yet the most important.

Does Keifer see her…

the way I do?

Or…

Is she just another face to him?

I didn't know then…

That the answer to that question…

Would shake everything.

Because what I saw as perfect…

Was already something else.

Something hidden.

Something dangerous.

And when it comes out…

It won't just surprise me.

It will test me.

As a mother.

As a woman.

As someone who thought…

She understood everything.

To be continued… 😏💔
