Silence.
Heavy… suffocating silence fell over the pack grounds.
No one moved.
No one spoke.
All eyes were fixed on Lira.
The girl they once pitied… now stood like something they did not understand.
Something… dangerous.
The wind circled her body, lifting her hair gently as her silver eyes glowed under the moonlight. The aura around her was no longer weak or broken.
It was powerful.
Ancient.
Terrifying.
Kael took a step back just one but it was enough for the elders to notice.
"Impossible…" one of them whispered.
Lira inhaled slowly, as if breathing in a new life. The pain of the rejection… the humiliation… it was still there.
But it no longer controlled her.
Instead
It fueled her.
Her gaze swept across the crowd. Faces that once looked down on her now stared in fear, confusion, disbelief.
"Lira…" the head elder called carefully, his voice slightly shaky. "What is happening to you?"
Lira turned to him slowly.
A small smile curved her lips but it wasn't warm.
"I'm remembering," she said softly.
Suddenly
A sharp cry escaped her lips as she clutched her head.
Visions flooded her mind.
Flashes of war.
Blood.
A throne carved from moonstone.
A woman… glowing… powerful… unstoppable.
Her.
"I…" she gasped, dropping to one knee as the energy surged violently through her veins.
The ground beneath her cracked.
"Yes…" the voice returned inside her, stronger now. "Awaken."
Her body trembled, but she didn't fall.
She refused to.
"I am not weak…" Lira whispered to herself.
Her fingers dug into the earth.
"I am not nothing…"
The wind howled louder, responding to her will.
Her wolf, once quiet and broken, rose with a powerful roar inside her soul.
And then
She stood again.
Slowly.
Gracefully.
Powerfully.
Her eyes now shone brighter than before pure silver, glowing like the moon itself.
"I remember…" she said.
The elders stepped back instinctively.
"Remember what?" one of them asked.
Lira's gaze lifted to the sky.
"I am not just a wolf."
Her voice echoed strangely, layered… as if two voices spoke at once.
"I am the blood of the Moon… the forgotten Queen…"
She lowered her gaze again.
"The Moon Goddess."
A wave of energy exploded outward from her body, forcing everyone to step back.
Even Kael struggled to stand his ground.
"This is madness," he growled, trying to regain control. "You expect me to believe you are some kind of goddess?"
Lira looked at him calmly.
"No," she said.
"I expect you to regret."
Before anyone could react
She moved.
Faster than the eye could see.
In a blink, she was standing right in front of Kael.
The crowd gasped.
Kael's eyes widened in shock.
"You"
But before he could finish
Lira raised her hand and placed it lightly on his chest.
Not an attack.
Not yet.
But the power behind that single touch…
Made his knees weaken.
"You felt it, didn't you?" she said softly.
"The bond you broke…"
Her eyes darkened slightly.
"It will never return."
Kael clenched his jaw, trying to resist the pressure radiating from her. "You think this changes anything? You are still nothing without a pack."
Lira tilted her head slightly.
"Watch me."
She stepped back, removing her hand.
Immediately, the pressure vanished but the fear remained.
She turned away from him, facing the crowd.
"For years, I begged for acceptance," she said, her voice calm but carrying across the entire ground.
"I begged for love… for a place to belong."
Her expression hardened.
"No more."
The wind surged again, stronger this time, swirling around her like a storm.
"I do not need a pack."
Her glowing eyes scanned them all.
"A pack will need me."
A chill ran through everyone.
Even the strongest warriors lowered their gazes.
Because deep down
They felt it.
She wasn't lying.
Lira took a step forward.
Then another.
No one dared to stop her.
No one dared to speak.
As she walked out of the pack grounds, the moon followed her… shining brighter with every step she took.
And behind her
She left fear.
Regret.
And a broken Alpha who was just beginning to understand…
He had made the greatest mistake of his life.
