Chapter 19 - Ch 19- Protagonist battle

First battle group:

Team A: Momo Yaoyorozu, Ochaco Uraraka vs Team C: Minoru Mineta, Tenya Iida.

As the villain team, Momo Yaoyorozu and Ochaco Uraraka entered the building first, guarding the fake "nuclear bomb."

Meanwhile, Minoru Mineta and Tenya Iida stayed outside for a bit.

Mineta was already grinning like an idiot, mumbling to himself about fighting girls and wondering if something "interesting" might happen.

Iida, dressed up like some armored knight, was sweating. Seriously, was this guy even reliable?

The rest of the class followed All Might to the monitoring room, where more than a dozen screens showed every angle of the building.

Almost immediately, the more observant students noticed something weird. Momo had been sticking things in the blind spots along the walls as she moved.

All Might zoomed in out of curiosity.

Tiny cameras. Tons of them.

The exercise officially started.

Mineta and Iida weren't exactly known for having high-destruction Quirks. As soon as they entered the building, it became obvious that Momo already had full intel on their movements through her phone.

Just as the two of them reached a corner and were about to head up to the next floor…

Boom!!

An explosion went off, and the staircase was completely blown apart.

It wasn't super loud, but it was enough to bury both of them under rubble.

"Damn it, we walked right into that!"

Iida grabbed Mineta and forced his way out, immediately running toward another staircase.

"Seriously… no brain at all."

Watching from the screen, Arthur scoffed.

The moment Iida stepped onto the second staircase, something nearly invisible tightened.

A thin string snapped into place.

Before he could react, a loop yanked around his ankle.

"Another trap!?"

"Hurry, Mineta-kun, there's a trap here!"

Too late.

He was hanging upside down in midair.

Iida panicked and instinctively tried to let go of Mineta so he could untangle the trap.

"Release!"

Up on the higher floor, Uraraka clapped her hands.

Chunks of rubble from both sides of the ceiling broke loose, and a huge net dropped down, wrapping both of them up completely.

"The match is over, Mineta-kun, Iida-kun."

Momo walked down with Uraraka, calmly pointing a handgun she created at them.

"The match is decided! Winners: Team A, Momo Yaoyorozu, Ochaco Uraraka!"

Back in the monitoring room, All Might slammed a button, his voice echoing through the entire building.

"That was amazing, Momo!"

Mina Ashido looked genuinely impressed.

"She played that perfectly. All strategy, ribbit," Tsuyu Asui added, tapping the corner of her mouth.

"Young Yaoyorozu showed excellent judgment. She minimized risk and used traps in the most efficient way possible," All Might said.

When the four of them returned to the monitoring room, he continued, his tone shifting.

"But Young Iida, you rushed in too quickly. Retreating after spotting a trap was the right call, but you didn't consider that the entire area was under enemy control. Everything could have been part of their plan."

"I… I'm sorry. I really messed up…"

Iida lowered his head. The loss was mostly on him.

He let his emotions get the better of him.

"Next match!"

All Might raised his voice again.

"Team D: Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku Midoriya vs Team F: Arthur, Inasa Yoarashi!"

Arthur stood there with a faint smirk. Inasa looked fired up as ever.

Bakugo looked like he was ready to explode at any second, while Midoriya looked nervous as usual.

They headed into another training building.

"So, who do you think wins?" Mina asked.

"Team F."

"Team F."

"Team F."

Hagakure, Kaminari, and Shoji all answered at the same time.

"Even if both teams have someone who sucks at teamwork, the overall strength gap is just too big," Momo added calmly.

"R-Really?" Uraraka blinked, still staring at the screen.

"Everyone stay here. I'll step out for a moment," All Might said before quickly leaving the room.

"Going to supervise in person?" Kaminari guessed.

"Well, three of them have crazy destructive power. And during Aizawa-sensei's test, we never actually saw Arthur-kun's Quirk," Tsuyu said, eyes still on the screen.

Meanwhile, the "villain team" had already reached the top floor.

The so-called nuclear bomb was just a huge egg-shaped training prop.

"Arthur-kun, got a plan?" Inasa called out from one side.

Arthur stood on the other side, tapping the shell of the bomb, his tone full of confidence.

"The easiest one to deal with is Bakugo. He gets triggered way too easily. He'll probably try to blow up the floor. When he does, use your Quirk and send this thing flying."

He smiled slightly.

"Once I deal with that durian head, keep an eye on Midoriya. I want to see what he can actually do."

"Oh? You're saying Midoriya's harder to deal with? No way," Inasa said, clearly not convinced.

No matter how he looked at it, Bakugo seemed like the bigger threat.

"You're overestimating him."

Arthur shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Just find Bakugo with your wind. I'll take him out in less than a second."

....

"Get lost! Don't walk with me, Deku!"

As the Hero Team, Katsuki Bakugo and Izuku Midoriya stepped into the training building.

The moment they entered, Bakugo shoved Midoriya hard into the wall, already yelling at him.

Back in the monitoring room, several students frowned.

Honestly, they all saw this coming.

Midoriya hit the wall, barely processing it before quickly running after him again.

"No, Kacchan! Arthur-kun and Inasa-kun, one's close-range and the other's long-range. If we don't work together, we won't beat them!"

"Are you seriously trying to lecture me?! You're just… you're just… Deku!"

Bakugo's veins bulged as he snapped.

He almost said what he always used to, "a useless Quirkless nobody."

But he stopped himself at the last second.

Midoriya had a Quirk now.

And somehow, that made him even more pissed.

To Bakugo, Midoriya was supposed to stay that weak kid who followed him around and got pushed around.

Now they were standing on the same level.

He couldn't stand that.

"Inasa's moving!"

Momo's voice suddenly cut through the room.

Everyone immediately shifted their attention to the Villain Team screen.

They saw Inasa using the vents on his costume, releasing controlled streams of air that slowly spread through the entire building.

"What's he doing?" Kaminari asked, confused.

"He's using the wind to track their positions," Shoji said seriously. "At this rate, Midoriya and Bakugo won't be able to hide at all."

"I told you to go the other way!"

Back on the Hero Team side, the argument still hadn't stopped.

Bakugo had already raised his hand a few times like he was about to blast Midoriya, but somehow held himself back.

Was it because Midoriya was still technically his teammate?

Or because attacking now would instantly expose their position to the enemy?

Only Bakugo knew.

Midoriya, even though he looked like he was about to cry, still refused to split off.

Was it because he finally got over his fear of Bakugo?

Or because he knew they'd definitely lose if they separated?

Probably both.

As they moved higher, something started to feel off.

The wind kept getting stronger.

"That wind bastard… he's tracking me, isn't he?"

Bakugo clicked his tongue, finally figuring it out.

Then he grinned.

"Fine. Let's see how you deal with this!"

Boom!!

Bakugo fired off explosions with both hands, blasting out a huge shockwave. The pressure tore through the floor, shattering every window in the area.

"Ah!"

Midoriya got caught in it and was blown backward, nearly thrown out through a window.

"That idiot Bakugo! He almost took his own teammate out!" Kirishima shouted.

"He's trying to disrupt Inasa's wind sensing, but using that kind of attack in a closed space is just reckless," Momo said calmly.

While everyone was criticizing him, the Villain Team screen showed Inasa focusing again.

"It's disturbed, but I've got it. Fourth floor, three meters left of the right staircase!"

He pointed in that direction as he spoke.

Arthur smiled.

In the next moment, The World appeared.

Right in front of everyone's eyes, it drove its hand down into the floor, slicing a narrow opening just big enough for a person to pass through.

The control was insane.

Meanwhile, on Bakugo's side…

After using his explosion to mess with the airflow, he was about to move again.

Midoriya, still on the ground near the wall, suddenly looked up in shock and shouted, raising his arm.

"Kacchan! Above!"

Bakugo frowned, annoyed, but still instinctively looked up.

What he saw wasn't the ceiling anymore.

The World had already broken through it, its arm raised, coming straight down at him.

"Wha…"

He didn't even get to finish.

Bakugo lifted his hands, trying to counterattack, but they barely moved a few centimeters.

He didn't have time.

The World's strike hit him cleanly in the neck.

"Ugh!"

Pain exploded through his body, and his vision instantly went blurry.

"I… I'm not… done…"

His eyes rolled back despite himself.

No matter how much he hated it, his body gave out.

"Kacchan!!!"

Midoriya yelled, scrambling forward in panic.

After landing the hit, The World disappeared just as suddenly.

The entire monitoring room went quiet.

It happened way too fast.

Bakugo collapsed, completely unconscious.

At the same time, students like Todoroki couldn't help but think something else.

Why didn't they finish Midoriya off too?
