Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Auntie Wong

It seems Karen still doesn't know who the mastermind behind trapping the UBCS Delta Team in the mansion is.

"You two don't really need to split up."

Asa took a needle-free injector from his pocket; it was the same type of 'Full-Force Heal Type 1' he had given Jill. He jammed it directly into Lawrence's neck.

The nanobots would follow the flow of blood to rapidly repair the wounds on Lawrence's body and then be expelled from the body through metabolism.

Incidentally, for all the 2077 equipment used in the resident evil world, Asa had scrubbed all information related to the 2077 World from them.

This way, even if someone occasionally found the discarded scraps, they wouldn't think about another world.

As Asa injected all of the Full-Force Heal Type 1 into Lawrence, a moment later, the middle-aged man's eyelids fluttered, and he opened his eyes.

Asa smiled slightly at Lawrence and said:

"You're awake. The surgery was a success, and you are now a girl."

Lawrence: WTF?

He left the explanation to Karen, so that the four of them could move together.

After Karen finished explaining and Lawrence heard the full story, he expressed his gratitude, telling them to just ask if they ever needed help in the future.

"Is this the latest product from Umbrella Corporation?"

A wave of fragrance washed over him, and Asa felt a mature presence beside him.

Ada Wong was in her usual pose, arms crossed with her hands tucked beneath her chest, her tight red dress accentuating her curvaceous figure.

"Ahem, this is company confidential. If your security clearance isn't high enough, you aren't authorized to know. Sorry."

Asa immediately refused with an upright expression.

"What a pity. I thought we were quite close?"

Close? The only thing they had was a relationship where Ada Wong drove and Asa rode along.

Asa knew this well; after all, the fact that there were no bond relationships on the system interface was the best proof.

"Sorry."

Asa turned his head, leaving Ada Wong with an upright and righteous view of the back of his head.

Ada Wong shook her head, her peripheral vision scanning for where Asa had tossed the needle-free injector.

No matter how precious the medicine was, surely he wouldn't leave the empty vial behind?

Asa really hadn't left it behind. He knew just how heaven-defying the nanobots' ability to repair the body was in this world.

After searching to no avail, Ada Wong had no choice but to give up.

"What a slippery little guy."

A coquettish voice came from behind him.

The wait wasn't long. As for the remaining five members of the UBCS Delta Team, when he had checked with his Cyberoptics last time, they were already about to head toward the mine.

There was a giant spider there.

Lawrence was a sniper, so Asa suggested he take the balcony position to overlook everything and guard the entire courtyard and graveyard.

Asa led Karen and Ada Wong straight into the secret passage and into the courtyard.

The entire courtyard was enclosed by a three-meter-high steel fence, with a graveyard in the center.

In the middle of the graveyard stood a small wooden shack.

Asa narrowed his eyes slightly; that was the house where the civil engineer's child was imprisoned, and also the location where Lisa appeared in the game.

However, before they could encounter Lisa, the three of them ran into a big guy first.

Asa suddenly felt a chill, a wave of coldness washing over him.

[Crisis Prediction (Novice)].

He immediately lunged forward, tackling the two people behind him to the ground.

"Hiss!"

Almost the moment Asa hit the ground, a foul, fishy wind swept over from above, and a massive yellow monster slithered past them.

Asa held the two of them down, successfully avoiding the attack from the darkness.

The two women behind him knew the situation was critical and remained motionless after Asa tackled them; once the attack passed, they sprang up to guard the perimeter.

That was until they saw the true form of the thing that had attacked them.

"What the hell is this!"

Karen wasn't very refined, so she could only express her shock with such language.

"It's the venomous snake that attacked Lawrence."

Asa replied, beginning to reload his Comrades Hammer.

"Lawrence, you didn't tell me you were bitten by this kind of 'venomous snake'!"

Karen couldn't help but complain.

The snake appearing before them was over fifteen meters long, with a massive head half a person's height, and a gaping maw large enough to swallow a whole adult.

The giant snake looked more like an oversized king cobra; it had a hood that normal pythons lacked, and its skin was the sandy yellow of a viper. Even more disgusting were the many blister-like white bumps on the giant snake's body, and there was no telling what was inside them.

Karen didn't want to ask how Lawrence had been poisoned; the question now was how Lawrence had managed to escape the gaping maw of this giant snake.

The answer to Karen came in the form of a gunshot from the second floor of the mansion.

A bloody hole exploded on the giant snake's body, but it simply shook its head and, as if nothing had happened, charged toward the three of them.

"Look, you can ask your questions later if you want, but now is not the time!"

Ada Wong drew her gun and fired, feeling extremely depressed. It was supposed to be a simple search and infiltration mission, but what kind of monsters and freaks had they encountered along the way? Moving corpses, berserk bats, and now a fifteen-meter-long giant snake had appeared.

What would appear next? Aliens or dinosaurs?

Once this job was done, she would definitely make the employer pay more!

Asa was much calmer; after all, in a few years, chaos that could destroy the world would appear, so the giant snake was just small potatoes.

The two handguns had limited effect on the giant snake, so Asa switched the high-explosive rounds in his Comrades Hammer to armor-piercing rounds.

Facts proved one thing: the fear brought by resident evil was mostly due to a lack of firepower.

Given the fragility of carbon-based life forms, the first armor-piercing revolver round had a miraculous effect.

The momentum of the giant snake's charge came to an abrupt halt the moment Asa aimed and fired; the entire snake writhed in painful, violent agony, like a leech thrown into a pile of salt.

That was because Asa shot had hit the bullseye!

Kids, practicing your aim is really useful.

The Comrades Hammer could only fire one bullet at a time, requiring a reload after every shot.

Asa reloaded, still using an armor-piercing round, and fired another shot at the giant snake's head.

This time, the giant snake stopped its strenuous struggling and died completely.

[Experience + 50]

Asa was in a much better mood. If three more elite monsters like the giant snake appeared, he would be able to level up.

"That was so cool, Asa."

Karen gave Asa a thumbs-up, her gaze filled with envy as she looked at the industrial-style weapon in his hands.

Who wouldn't want to possess a big, thick cannon with massive firepower, especially in this mansion where biochemical monsters were everywhere? The sense of security it brought was unparalleled.

Asa humbly accepted Karen's sincere praise and turned his gaze toward Ada Wong, whose life he had just saved.

"Impressive."

Compared to Karen's honest words, Ada Wong's praise was clearly perfunctory, not to mention that Asa didn't even hear a confirmation notification from the system regarding a bond relationship.

"Thanks, Auntie Wong."

"Auntie... Wong..."

The corners of Ada Wong's mouth twitched. She really wanted to kick Asa to death, but she was afraid that this kid might enjoy it.

She was only 24 years old this year!

"Communications are back up!"

Karen, who had been fiddling with the walkie-talkie on the side, exclaimed. After stepping out of the mansion, the signal had been restored.
